This place was definitely my favorite place. Super friendly staff and helpful. The restaurant was clean and honestly the food was so fresh and delicious I was impressed with everything. I’ll most certainly would come back to have more delicious food on the menu. Just walking past other people food I was oooh I want this … I want that. Compliments to the chef or chefs for making the delicious meals today. The dumplings are absolutely amazing.

First time here, and I could not fault anything. The food, service, and atmosphere were exceptional.

The food was excellent - it’s so nice to enjoy good Chinese cuisine in Newcastle. We ordered quite a range of dishes and liked them all - especially the lamb ribs and the spicy steamed fish. There was particularly good “wok hei” flavour in the fried rice. Will be back!

I stumbled upon this place because my hubby wanted a kebab from next door. I’m so happy I did because they were some of the best dumplings I’ve ever had, so light and fresh. Found my new fav spot! Thank you

Ate in and had the hot and sour soup, sesame & prawn toast and pork and prwn dumplings with spicy sauce. Everything was great except the soup was absolutely delicious and huge!!!! The soup fed 2 of us and enough left over for another 2 meals. Very glad we walked into this little gem

We were random walk in. The service was fast and friendly and the food was amazing. As a family we had set favourites - the chef took the food too another level. It was fresh clean flavours and was not coated in a layer of sesame oil. So delicious we even took home our left over rice!

The best Chinese food I have ever had in 40 years. My advice would be to encourage everyone to eat at the restaurant rather than get a takeout. The food is fresh and delicious straight out of the kitchen. We are a family of 4 with 2 children aged 6 and 4. We had spring rolls, colourful buns, cucumber salad, Mongolian beef, chicken and vegetables,duck roti and special fried rice and every mouthful was a delight. What we did not finish we took home and ate the next evening and the food remained delicious even after being reheated in a microwave. The children were happy and the staff were caring and kind to them from the moment we came in. We are looking forward to our next visit.

I am a Yum Cha lover.. I love to check out all the little hidden gems everywhere I travel.. and Eight Buns is BY FAR THE BEST I’ve had in Newcastle! I highly recommend to go into the restaurant for the fresh meals (you just don’t get the same results ordering takeaway or delivery) I’ve eaten almost everything on the menu and it doesn’t disappoint!!

Amazing place and the best Asian food in Newcastle

Best variety of dumplings in the Hunter Valley, good servings (8 dumplings) 😊 The cooks own dipping sauce is unbelievable, yum, the prices are very reasonable and the service is friendly, I can't wait to go back and try some of the dishes I missed.

Had early dinner yesterday. Ordered a few dumplings, cold cucumber, and black pepper steak. Everything was yummy, good flavors. 👍

When we stopped in to get a late lunch after three when the kitchen was closed, but they kept the kitchen open to accommodate us. The food was fast and delicious, and the gentlemen who served us had great customer service. We will definitely be back.
