Gone Fishing Charters - Portland

10 out of 10. One of the best charters I been on to date. Beautiful and well equipped boat. Chris and his deckhand Stephan were amazing very knowledgeable and had us with our bag by 11am and the way he prepares and looks after your catch is awesome. Highly recommended and will be booking again for next year.

Had an amazing day that will be a life long happy memory - professional and friendly crew - communication was great and chris, sensing how keen we were, bent over backwards to get us out on a day we could make it down from melbourne. Boat was fabulous and the important bit? After 2 hours of nothing we smashed it - bagged out. As tuna novices we would have been happy with 1! Thanks heaps for a perfect experience - exactly what we had dreamt of!

Absolutely the best in the business. Chris and the crew go above and beyond to make you feel so welcome from the time you step aboard through to when you are walking away with your catch all cleaned and bagged. You will not find a more experienced and knowledgeable skipper and crew with the determination Chris had to get everyone hooked up it is next level. And his enthusiasm and excitement from the crew is infectious it rubs off on everyone on the boat. And somehow in between all or the driving the boat looking for signs of the tuna to the safety of all onboard and the guidance with every client to do everything possible to give them the best possible chance of landing that fish he somehow still manages to put a good feed on. From cake mid morning and pies, chicken sticks, wraps to a bbq. Then when you return to the dock at the end of the trip thinking it is all over. The crew then clean and bag the days catch for everyone to take with them. So if you want to best fishing charter experience of your life don’t waste your time and money on other character boats that just pack the boat full of people just for the money. Gone fishing limits the amount of people firstly for safety of his clients and so there is heaps of room for everyone to enjoy the entire experience. So if you want the best you have to go with the best and that is GONE FISHING CHARTERS

We had an awesome day on our Portland fishing charter. Captain Chris was incredible - friendly, informative, knowledgeable and super helpful, as was his deck hand Stephan. the boat was extremely comfortable for all 7 of us. everyone had a fantastic day bagging out on our Tuna quota by midday. we had such a great time we are already planning to book with Gone fishing charters for next years season. I would certainly recommend Gone fishing if you want a great experience with the best captain in the charter fleet. 5 star service, 5 star boat and crew, 5 star booking process and they kept us fully updated on conditions and things to think about before and after our charter. We watched the other charters cleaning their catch and the condition our tuna were in far exceeded the other boats.
Gone fishing is by far the right choice if you want the best.

If you are looking for a charter you can't go past Gone Fishing I have been on many charters none were a complete package in the way thay delivered all day. Thanks to the team at Gone Fishing for the best day on the water. Can't wait for the next trip...

I booked with them 6 months in advance for four people. They canceled my booking saying their system double booked for the date I had and someone else had booked out the whole boat. I don’t know how that happens when the website says how many available spots there are left. Unless you want to book the whole boat I would bother booking with them. They will most likely cancel your trip for a bigger pay day.
