Carman's Tunnel Goldmine

The gold mine was closed but we had a great day investigating the ruins and climbing Mt Tarrengower.

Hard a nice half an hour tour through a mining tunnel with candles lighting the way. Kids enjoyed blowing the candles out along the way to set the atmosphere and even got a glimpse of the resident ghost in the tunnel!

Fascinating a chance to walk amongst some history and picture what this site was like in it's working years at to turn of the 1800s

Very interesting

Interesting to see a tunnel mine and the work required to make it, and kept as authentic as possible with candle light.. Enjoyed the guides presentation, Reg was a great character. Very reasonably priced and run by volunteers. Bring your own torch if you want to see more of the rock formation and quartz seams as not very much light except the candles and Reg' s light. Easy flat and wide tunnel.

A general look into the past, great little tunnel experience if you havn't been underground. Easy walk..

Really interesting piece of history, had the tour to ourselves!
