Bunnings Doncaster

Not the typical Bunnings experience of parking & shopping on one level with the warehouse feel.

However, intriguing experience. Friendly staff. Still easy to find items. Onsite cage is on the top level with house plants etc.

It is now $18.00 MINIMUM, if you overstay the 2 hours free parking by even a small amount.
An additional approx 10minutes over the 2hours free on a late Sunday afternoon has cost me $18, a REAL shock. Would have been cheaper to go to Nunawading or Box Hill South!
Very pleased though that after calling the store to complain the following day, office staff decided to refund my $18 and it was ready for me to pick up a week later when I visited again.

At last, Doncaster has its own Bunnings! In brief: If you only have a couple of small items, you know it's not going to be busy, and you're NOT towing a trailer etc, and this is the nearest store, this is great. Otherwise, go to any one of the other, standard layout, Bunnings in Eltham, Nunawading, Box Hill, Northland etc. Unfortunately it's like some of the other non standard "weird" 2 storey Bunnings in Richmond, Chadstone etc. If you are familiar with a "standard" Bunnings and are a regular visitor, it doesn't matter which one you go to, the layout is almost always identical, you can grab what you need in and out quickly, easy parking, trailer and Caravan access etc. Doncaster Bunnings has an unusual ramped entrance for cars with an underground, 2.9 metre clearance carpark that is free for 2 hours, then $9 per hour.
The carpark entrance, exit and navigation underground is a nightmare and will be the location for inumerable bingles and scrapes. Loading you car with large items when it's busy will be almost impossible.
Especially the exit is extremely narrow with a sharp left, and again a right at the tradesmans entry/exit, with a raised centre concrete divider that is almost indistinguishable from the road surface as it hasn't been painted.
During busy times traffic snarls down here are a nightmare, and the queues of exiting cars block other vehicles for extended periods and make it almost impossible to load your car or reverse out.
Forget about coming here if you are towing a trailer or caravan and go to Eltham, Northland or Nunawading Bunnings instead.
At quiet times it's not really a problem. Navigating the store internally is more difficult as it's on 2 levels, with lifts and a very long, very slow travelator between levels.
Took me ages to find what I needed with several trips back and forth on the travelator.
Staff were exceptional, extremely helpful and obviously well trained knowing immediately where I had to go on the numerous occasions I had to ask for directions.
Oh! And they do have the famous Aussie tradition of the Bunnings sausage sizzle, supporting various charities!

One of the newest around. Nice layout and excellent, knowledgeable staff have been hired. Smallish compared to most Bunnings out there, but very homely feel due to compact layout. Great access off Doncaster Road, right around from Westfield.

It is absolutely nice place for shopping. It has a big variety of products in a good price.
The customer care is amazing, the staff have a lot of knowledge of the product and services.

An interesting concept: multizoned construction, with a hotel on the same complex as this store. The store itself is split into two levels and the gardening section is upstairs. Parking is free for the first two hours, then pretty pricey after that. Ensure you know exactly what you need and get assistance from their team members where possible. Will be going back here in future.

I say “thank you but I think this is one of problems I just need to work out myself. (In hindsight being chauvinistic)

I don't know why the Bunnings website keeps trying to send me to Hawthorn when this Bunnings is just as close. Has all the stuff I need for doing my renovations. And close enough that it's not too much hassle when I remember the other thing I forgot to buy the last time.

Being fairly new, this bunnings seems to have the most stock of items I was looking for. Floor is split across two levels but most of the key items are on the first floor. My 5 star rating is for Gina from Plumbing. She provided expert advice to my washing machine tap and shower issue. Step by step she explained what I needed to do after showing her a photo of the tap and shower. I also didn't take the right tools from the tool shop and Gina noticed and went above and beyond to ensure I had the correct tools. Thanks Gina!

Only because I found the most helpful ever bunnings employee in my history of going to bannings. Mounier (not sure if that's how it's spelt) was the man's name. An absolute star.

I love this Bunnings, and I want to give a special shoutout to the employee Taylor who was so friendly and helpful for people in the plant/nursery section. She had a lovely chat about me with plants and answered questions I had about when new stock comes in. She went above and beyond to see what was out back and what would be available around this time since the shipment had just come in. Absolutely lovely person and fabulous customer service :)

My nearest Bunnings! Recenr addition to the network and vert welcome. Easy access, the usual excellent Bunnings service, range, prices. Already a regular! :D

Great service on door handles from Zach at Doncaster. What could have been very confusing took 2 mins. thanks to helpful and knowagable assistance.

This place is next level huge! The staff were fantastic. You could spend hours there.

Went into the timber yard this morning to get a couple pieces of timber for a project my son and I are working on.

Wasn't expecting much as this is not my local bunnings but let me just say, Mark in the timber yard is an absolute legend, he went above and beyond to help, he couldn't do enough for me and my son, a true man of the people, it was good to see a bloke putting in effort, he made the young blokes half his age look lazy. I will definitely be going out of my way the next time I need any timber and hardware.

One of the best bunnings overall for buying hardware and such, excellent accessibility for Doncaster overall as well.
