Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns

Sublime. Effortless stay. Beautiful service from the staff, Andrea at the restaurant was a bright start to the day at breakfast. Great health club, rec area, pool. Great coffee from the baristas in the foyer. They do a few little extra things that add to the experience, but you'll have to stay to find out.

I would to start by thanking the extremely hard-working and great staff who's got exceptional communication skills and knows how to greet guests with such warmth and utter professionalism. For the location you can't go wrong with how beautifully all the restaurants are placed around the marina where everything is just situated at a walking distance with amazing restaurants around the marina. The breakfast and food options are simply amazing. The staff is very friendly and always ready to help and share amazing places around the bay. I highly recommend for couples getaway which will be a memory to cherish for years.

Seaview rooms available, with a spacious pool, gym and games for the kids. There is an excellent breakfast buffet, which is attended by helpful and friendly staff at The Backyard downstairs. From beginning to end, concierge to housekeeping, your time here will feel welcome and luxurious

What a great location, beautifully appointed, clean, King Suite on Horizon Club level which offers an exclusive breakfast, snacks, drinks, tea, coffee, bar. Gymnasium, massive pool, pool table and table tennis, bar and lush gardens on Level 1.
Walking distance to supermarket, tours and restaurants, situated right on the beautiful marina with lovely tranquil views of the mountains and ocean. Fresh seafood Restaurant on the doorstep.
The comfortable lounge, mini fridge, coffee machine and well appointed bathroom are a nice touch.
Staff are very friendly and helpful and there is a on site tour booking advisor.

This was an amazing hotel to stay at. As soon as you enter the lobby you're greeted with a calming smell, and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Nami at the front desk, and Graeme the bellman were extremely knowledgeable and even made recommendations of things to see and do in Cairns and in our next destination as well. I can't express my gratitude enough to them for making our stay pleasant and enjoyable, and helping us enjoy our last day in Cairns!

The food at the Backyard restaurant is also amazing. We went for dinner and the food was filling, and the seafood was so fresh. We also ordered the gnocchi and crispy pork belly. The gnocchi were tender and creamy, and the pork belly had a deliciously crispy skin. There was also a wide breakfast selection that included soups, breads, meat, eggs, and fresh fruit. The restaurant location on the pier makes any meal a comfortable experience as well. I highly recommend having a meal there if you have a chance!

Perfect hotel for families traveling with kids, Walking distance to shopping, restaurants, street live entertainment and the Fleet terminals. Has excellent breakfast buffet( which included a GF section)👌
They also have a studio where you can take pictures with Koala bears in case you missed it somewhere else, this option is available between 9am-5pm. They have an excellent concierge. The rooms are very spacious and they have an option to get connecting rooms.

We stayed in a Horizon Club room which is on the “VIP” level. Ask about locals rates if you’re local around Cairns.
You receive buffet breakfast which is the best buffet breakfast in Cairns, then snacks & hot & cold drinks are available all day (pastries, fruit, tea/coffee, juice, soft drink)
Dinner includes a 2hr drink & food package of alcohol & non alcoholic drinks (wine, spirits, beer, cider, softdrinks, juice, tea/coffee), plus a small buffet finger food dinner which was different every night (hot and cold finger food)
We didn’t purchase food or drinks for the entire 3 night stay & was very satisfied.
The room was great.
Room service (for food) is available until 10pm, and they have packages you can order of drinks & snacks at a good price through the QR code in the room.
It was an all in one package & now our favourite place to stay locally.

Most amazing stay in this hotel, definitely should be a 5 star, room was huge with everything that you could need. Bathroom was big and came with toothbrushes, nail file, shower hat, cotton buds, make up remover pads, I have not see this since prior to Covid, so lovely to see them being reintroduced into the rooms. Dressings gowns and slippers of excellent quality also provided. An empty fridge so that you can put in your own bits and pieces. Great to have an Nepressor machine with capsules provided every day.
Our room was the basic deluxe room, so was not expecting such a great room with balcony overlooking the pool.

Overall I would highly recommend this hotel, it is so close to everything .Will definitely stay again.

We recently stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel in Cairns and had a fantastic experience. The service was top-notch, with staff going above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. The room was cozy and well-appointed, providing a perfect retreat after a day of exploring. Breakfast was superb, especially Chef Lakshman's delicious egg omelet. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Cairns.

Great location for the reef terminal and all the trips you can go on. Great location to walk into cairns.
Hotel is looking and dated and worn round the edges.
Musty damp smell in reception and the corridors.

Stayed here for 6 nights in November. The location is excellent for cairns, highly recommend this and the rooms are beyond spacious. I loved the shower and bathroom. Beds were comfortable and it’s located right next to the marina. You can’t go wrong with this hotel!

We had an excellent 5 day stay here. The staff were efficient, professional and friendly.
The location being right on the waterfront was very convenient.

We will definitely stay here when we come back to the Cairns area.

Beautiful hotel by the waterfront. Attentive staff for event functions. Nice foods for Cairns. Worth staying either for corporate and leisure while in town.

We are locals (without family) who thought we'd spend Christmas at the Shangri-La. We hadn't been before and weren't overly convinced from the outside. We booked a very standard room. When we arrived the staff were lovely and told us we had been upgraded. We were very shocked and excited. We arrived at our beautiful marina facing room, to find an issue with the power. We were immediately moved to another room, only to discover we had been upgraded again. The mezzanine level room exceeded expectations and was beautiful. The staff was amazing, food and drinks was great and very affordable, and pool and amenities were great. Best Christmas ever! Thanks team Shangri-La. Locals, this spot is a winner!

Was a great spot for a getaway, rooms were clean and spacious. Staff were always very friendly and helpful, they couldn't do enough for you. Everything was at walking distance which was great. I Highly recommend PS Passion cocktail from The Backyard.

The manager here is terrific, pure professional, we stayed in a club room, used the club facilities, the food in the evenings was very good, and so many choices ,the staff in there were first class.
We found on reception the staff were on the ball, a very good holiday, will certainly return. 😀

Stayed with my kids and we loved every minutes.
The kids enjoyed their activities playing pingpong and swimming. Awesome views of the marina from our bedroom. Daily room service that’s what i wanted.

The perfect place to stay while holidaying and adventuring in Cairns. Beautiful big rooms with balcony and views. Right next to The Reef Terminal where you can board a tour to the Great Barrier Reef.
