The Village Cairns

100% recommend staying at the Village! The Village is quiet, clean, well equipment, and comfortable -- everything you could ask for! The front desk staff was immediately welcoming and made us feel at home (thank you Johnny!). Biggest shout-out to Michelle who surprised my boyfriend and I a free upgrade to a private room!! Michelle is so thoughtful and generous, we loved seeing her around the facility, and felt so taken care of on our travels. Sincerely, thank you SO much, you transformed our visit to Cairns in the most positive way!

Staff was friendly and hospitable; due to a last minute change in plans we booked two times at the Village--Johnny at front desk set us up so we wouldn't have to switch rooms.

The common areas are very lively and well-stocked. There's an industrial-sized kitchen and a communal fridge which was nice if we had leftovers or wanted coffee in the morning.

The location is incredible; steps away from our dive shop!!

From the moment I walked in, Johnny made me feel so welcome and was so helpful throughout the entire trip!! The room was amazing! The bed was comfortable, high ceilings and big windows with a great Air Con! The bathrooms were beautiful and the whole place was clean and nice!! The location is also perfect! Everything you need is within walking distance!! Recommended 10/10!

I don’t usually like hostels in Australia .
I believe that they are overvalued. But The Village is different.This place is great!
It’s located just in the middle of the city. It’s very clean and quiet.
And it is not a party hostel, which for me is an absolute plus.
The staff is super friendly.
It may be a bit more expensive than other hostels, but I rather pay this extra bucks and enjoy my stay. I will definitely recommend it!

During our trip to Australia, the most memorable experience was staying at The Village Cairns. We spent three days there. Johnny at the front desk welcomed us with great patience and kindness on the day of our arrival. Seeing that we were a family of three, he specially arranged a very quiet room for us and provided detailed information about the location and usage of the kitchen, bathroom, and the virtual door lock. His warm and responsible demeanor left a lasting impression on us. As Valentine's Day fell on February 14th, Johnny informed us in the morning about the evening activities and invited us to join. Indeed, the evening spent on the balcony with wine, juice, chocolate, and music made our Valentine's Day very meaningful. It added a lot of color to our trip. Today, we will leave Cairns and continue our journey to Brisbane. Thank you, Johnny, and goodbye Cairns!

Areas around the hostel get cleaned around 3 times a day inclusive of bathroom and toilets. Hostel is kept clean and is lovely to move around about in whilst being on the property.

Close proximity to grocery stores, bars, clubs, the esplanade, lagoon, and Much More!

Usually noise levels stay low after 10pm. Kitchen is good to keep and store food and alcohol in and isn't touched by others I found. As long as you Mark your bags you store your food and alcohol in

Great location and great space all and all. What you’d expect from a great hostel. Bathrooms are in good condition considering how many people sharing and you do see cleaning crew all the time. Room is great, no window that you can open tho, only a glazed skylighty window, but that doesn’t bother me too much.

I stayed here for three nights. The location is awesome. Nearly all residents are young people. Everyone was very friendly—guests and staff. The place is modern and clean. The bathrooms were a bit gross at times, but nothing that would deter me from staying here again. The room key is on your phone through Bluetooth. I’d prefer a physical keycard, but it did work fine. The deck area is nice. You can rent a towel. There is a communal luggage room and each bed gets a locker. Bring your own lock! The Woolworths is just a few steps away.

I had an amazing stay! The Village is a great and clean Hostel and everybody who is looking for a relaxed stay in Cairns, is definitely making the right decision. The bathrooms and showers are very clean and the staff is friendly and kind. It’s also in the middle of Cairns and you only need a couple of minutes to walk to the Esplanada or Cairns Central Mall. I will definitely come back when I’m in Cairns again.

Such a good location! And staff were excellent. All tours know the place to easy pick up. Really organised as well! Very impressed. I recommend eating in balcony around 17:45 you can hear all the birds and bats coming in to roost

Stayed here as a couple on two short stopovers to bookend our liveaboard trip. Both times we had booked a double room but they upgraded us to better rooms—very kind of them! The location is great: it's right by a nice green area where you can relax outside, and it's walking distance to most Cairns food and attractions, plus the Woolies is literally around the corner. Not the quietest-ever place to sleep but was clean, well-kept and a great value, exactly what we needed.

Okay, so I’ve seen lots of reviews that say how great the reception staff are here and I didn’t pay much attention to that because I didn’t think that would affect my stay/ how good the hostel is but I couldn’t have been more wrong. The reception staff here are incredible. A massive shout out to Ash and Tash. They are the kindest, most approachable and helpful receptionists you’ll meet. They go to great lengths to make your stay here is the best possible. I really have never come across such hard working and lovely staff that go to such lengths for their guests. Truly amazing. Thank you so much for all you have done for me during my stay here.

The Village Cairns has to be one of the best hostels in the FNQ region, and up there with some of the greats in Australia.

Centrally located in Cairns, this hostel is only minutes walk from the boardwalk, lagoon, shopping centres, cruise terminal / wharf, has an abundance of restaurants, bars and entertainment around as well as other great attractions such as Cairns Aquarium, the casino and just a short trip to Cairns Botanical Gardens by bus and tour operators for destinations just out of Cairns.

Checking into this hotel was quick and easy, and the staff checking me is were amazing. They asked what my plans were and if I needed any help planning any part of my trip whilst in Cairns. Keys are issued digitally to your phone,

During the stay, staff were extremely attentive with cleaning, the rooms were cleaned daily and all common areas were continuously being cleaned and maintained. Whilst the bathrooms could do with a few upgrades, cleanliness was never an issue.

The hostel also ensures that there is something on for everybody each day. From yoga to BBQs, or planned nights with bars they partner with. You will never be left with nothing to do. Despite this, the hostel is quiet at night and ensure a good night sleep. There is also a feee daily breakfast.

The crowed of people staying here was mixed. Older, younger and families as well as local and international visitors. It’s a great spot for meeting new people from all around the world.

Departure is made very easy, as the keys are digital. Simply leave your room in a good state and enjoy your day.

I was pleasantly surprised by The Village Cairns, and I do look forward to staying again on my next visit to the area soon!

Probably one of the best team works in the hostel. They were really welcoming, and helpful.
The hostel itself is very clean, the rooms have aircon and fans as well, and they don’t smell like in most of the other hostels around Cairns.
The kitchen is spacious, you can always find a free stovetop to cook, and there is enough room on the shelfs and in the fridge as well. Also one of the tidiest one I’ve seen.
The balcony is perfect to eat your meals, with a view to the street.
I’ve been in 5 different hostels in Cairns so far, but I will definately stay here for the rest of my time.

The Concierge, José from Chile (dude with heaps of chest hair & a wolf tattoo on his left forearm) was super accomodating. That’s what you want after a long days travel. Room was clean & tidy. 10pm-8am was quiet time and seems everyone with respectful of that. Would stay again. Abrazo!

I encourage everyone to come here. Great hostel, clean and comfy. I was welcomed by the best receptionist ever (Ian gave me the best recommendations for sightseeing and tours around QLD and Australia in general, thank you!).

Great hostel, good air con and it's a in a great location. Not too busy as well so you can get a good sleep

Great place to stay if visiting Cairns. Didn't do much of what the place offered. But the rooms, and facilities were really clean. The front desk staff were friendly and professional, and the place is close to some attractions in Cairns. You won't be disappointed.

The hostel is in the centre of the city, near everything you need.
The rooms, bathrooms and kitchen are in excellent condition and always clean.
The service is the best I have seen in a hostel.
And something really important for me is that breakfast is included.
