If you want to have the best Japanese in Brisbane at a very reasonable price, with excellent quality produce and wonderfully cooked by 2 talented chefs then look no further. A hidden diamond in Clayfield. My partner and I visit this restaurant nearly every fortnight and I promise you will not be disappointed. A big shout out to Andy, Kirk and Zoe who make us feel like family every time we visit. I encourage everyone to visit you will not be disappointed and you will be in on the local secret.

For those looking for a generously proportioned & nourishing meal served with a side of tender love and care. We felt particularly cared for after our waiter noticed that my fiancé has lost her voice and brought her over a lemon and honey tea that worked a treat. Will certainly be back!

Have I found my new favourite restaurant?! Sakana is a bit out of the way, but the interior is very atmospheric in contrast to some of the more industrial surrounds. I went in a larger group so was able to sample quite a bit of the menu, and wow this is great food! The Bento boxes were great value, I personally loved the squid, and even the simpler things, like miso soup and edamame were delicious. There's a wide range of drinks, with tea, soft drinks and multiple types of sake. And the cherry on top is the prices - my grandfather went back inside to check we hadn't been undercharged. Thanks for an amazing evening, will definitely be returning!

This is our go-to Japanese restaurant in Brissy 🥵💯 Their sashimi and sushi are 🤤🤤🤤🥵❤‍🔥 Big portion, cool air-conditioning, Delicious food & really kind staffs ☺💯 btw, Your Japanese draft beer is amazing 👍

First impression that is the atmosphere let me feel Japan, than service is good like Aussie way, but the food brings me back to Japan trip!

Sakana is the best for Japanese food. So fresh and well made. My faves are the tempura prawn and chicken yaki noodles. Make sure you order a choya (plum wine) and ganmaicha tea too!

Really, really nice place. Next time I'm in the area, I'll be back. We had lovely service, chicken katsu and chicken yaki. Food was out in about 10 minutes. Just a really nice experience.

A local hidden gem. My friend and I dined here tonight and it was wonderful. Warm and friendly service, food was quick to come out and everything was delicious. We had the chicken teriyaki bento box, sizzling spicy pork belly, tempura prawns, and Californian roll. It was all fantastic. Carpark was full but we parked across the road. Highly recommend and will be back.

I recently dined at Sakana Japanese Dining Bar based on the numerous 5-star reviews, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The ambiance instantly transported me to Japan, the service was impeccable, and the food was outstanding. I tried the Agedashi tofu, Spicy tuna roll, Takoyaki, Sashimi platter, and Black sesame ice cream, all of which were delightful. The prices were surprisingly reasonable, making it a fantastic value for the quality. I can't recommend Sakana enough; it's a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic Japanese dining experience. I'll definitely be returning for more!
