International Airport railway station, Sydney

Such an awesome public transport facility between Sydney Airport and the CBD. And it’s a double deck train ! Very cool, new and users friendly design- the chair back can be easily interchangeable. Delighted to find that debit card or credit card can be used to tap on and off on the gate. You don’t need to bother the local currency at all !

Direct train metro from Airport Arrival to my destination. Accidentally felt asleep but was glad the announcement for every stop is loud and clear. Phew... things went well from the head.

This station is part of is one of the busiest Australia airports and has been expanded over the years.
Spacious, well managed and maintained.
Excellent ambiance and smoke-free atmosphere.
Train access to city is within reach from this airport with a train-station located along-side.
Multi-level spacious parking space. Wheelchair parking is available and there is wheelchair accessible entrance. There is wheelchair accessible elevator.
Public restrooms are available and they are wheelchair accessible.
I found it organised better for faster processing compared to my previous visit. Still there is lot of scope for making this airport a state of art one to bring it at par with some of the best international airports.

There should be no obstacles.

The gate prices are a little inflated, but the convenience of train access straight to the city, makes the service so quick and easy!

Great convenience but why do we have to be put off by the high price

The 'station access fee' for the Airport stations are excessive ($13.8 for adults, $12.4 for all others, capped at $25 a week). A cheaper alternative is to catch the 400 Bus from either Rockdale, Banksia, Mascot or Bondi Junction stations) to reach the airport, regular Opal rates apply.

I had a terible incident with incredibly rude Sydney Rail staff.

First off the self service machine froze when I tried to top up my opal card - it took my bank account money, but my opal card was empty.

I proceeded to the manned counter where there was a rude, unhelpful attendant. First off he interrupted me when I was trying to explain, and he then tried to blame the incident on me removing my card early (I left the card in the machine for over 5 minutes when it froze).

In the end he said there's nothing he can do about it and I just have to pay for it again. As I did not have enough credit in my opal card I was forced to top up my card again.

I asked for his name to use when asking Sydney Rail to refund my account but he said "I don't need to give you anything".

So I was forced to take his photo as I am definitely going to take this incident up with Sydney rail.

Surly woman made me pay $35 for an opal card, I didn't need that much for my time in Sydney. My partner arrived here in the evening and was told by a different staff member she could use her phone to pay for transport. So I wasted $25. Thanks, great way to start my visit here!

why do they hype the fact that it's some space age maglev or something. its not its just an overpriced subway thats not even privately owned by th airport. Just get a taxi, its 5000000 times as fast

What a ripoff. "Station Access fee" you should be ashamed for that surcharge.
Grab a bus or a taxi from another station and save yourself a mint.

I used express pick up area and when checking out the machine didn’t work. I contacted the service and a guy came after 30 mins.. knowing it was no fault of mine .. I was charged the waiting for the service guys inefficiency. Pretty pathetic I would say.

the biggest Rip off .. going on a train is. more expensive than parking your car for an hour in the airport. its suppose to be the other way around!!!!
