LuMi Dining

We came to celebrate our anniversary & LOVED our experience here. Service was warm & thoughtful throughout. We so appreciated having the corner table near the water.

The food was exceptional. I have never come out of a fine dining experience with so many standout dishes, deciding on a favourite would be impossible.

One small feedback I have is that some waiters are less audible than others. I enjoy knowing & remembering the contents of each dish but they not written anywhere, so if they aren't clearly spoken I am unable to fully appreciate the details of the food.

Brilliant work here & compliments to every worker that is a part of running this establishment. It is a blessing to live local, & I am eager to return.

We went there with my partner and 2 year old daughter for my birthday. Lovely atmosphere with impeccable service, the staff looked after us very well. I loved it that they had an option for kids as well which was one of the reasons why we picked this place. The food was exquisite, really fresh produce elegantly presented. You must like raw seafood to enjoy most of the menu here though. I think the chef hats they’ve been getting over the years are well deserved.

The location was special overlooking the marina. Attentive yet relaxed service. The lobster pasta was next level. The fusion of Japanese and French cuisine just genius. A fine dining experience indeed.

My partner took me here for my birthday and it was hands down, one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. I couldn’t fault anything about the restaurant. Location was semi-secluded with a nice view of the wharf, so it was away from the hustle and bustle. We opted for the tasting menu (11 courses + 1 additional dish per person added), and everything served to us was impeccable. Every bite taken my tastebuds were dancing with excitement. They had an array of drink options too - I had a yuzu honey cocktail drink and it was lovely. My partner had a white wine (Riesling) and it was nice and sweet. The staff were very accommodating and very sweet. Never received a top-tier service like this, so I was very impressed. I hope to visit LuMi in the near future again with my loved ones.

Had a lovely dinner on Saturday night for a friend's birthday. The service, location and food were all fantastic. Couldn't pick a favourite dish as each new dish was just as delicious as the one that came before it.

✨TLDR: My second visit and personally for me one of my FAV ever in Sydney 🤤❤ It’s SO expensive but I still want to come back, their snacks are the best I’ve ever tried compared to other fine dining places 💯

Their menu is always changing but their snacks never misses. Mains can be a bit of hit or miss, but compared to my visit from Nov 2022, I enjoyed this visit's (Feb 2024) menu way more especially the Marron.

It’s located by the water, also near The Star in Pyrmont so the views are great! Love the vibes and service as well. Perfect for a special occasion like birthdays or anniversaries.

Visited Lumi with my partner for our anniversary and were blown away by the food and the service. We got the $350 omakase menu. The food was fantastic and we walked away feeling more than full. I particularly enjoyed the view of the kitchen area, where you can watch chefs prepare dishes.

There was a couple seated near us, in which the lady had too much to drink, and was unfortunately throwing up at her table. The staff handled the situation so well and provided top notch service to them despite the situation potentially putting off other customers. The staff catered to them until she was feeling better then continued serving them their food.

Overall it was a fantastic experience and I would absolutely visit again.

Mind blowing experience, food, atmosphere, servcie and the views are all A+.
The tasting menu is nothing but a mind blowing delight and worth every cent, quite possibly the best restaurant in Sydney.

Amazing food, Italian/Japanese fusion feels very unique. Well deserving of its two hats, but some very nitpicky finer points of service were lacking; waiting a bit for water/drinks, no place to sit and wait for table to be ready etc.
Catered to my friend’s preference for no cooked fish on the night, swapping his dish for a piece of Wagyu which was impressive.
Personal gripe: on a $350pp Omakase menu, things like caviar and truffle should be included where they are required, not up-sold. It comes across as cheap and tacky. *Should be noted that the chef did give us complementary truffle on a dish, one of the best of the night.

Dinner at Lumi blew my mind! 🤯 Second visit and it's even better than the first, continuously impressing with its creative elegance and perfect fusion of Japanese and Italian cuisine. Every bite is a revelation—bursting with umami and ocean flavors. Despite the 17-course menu, including 8 bite-sized snacks, 3 entrees, 1 pasta, 2 mains, and 3 desserts, we savored every single dish and didn't want to miss a single bite.

Each dish was a highlight on its own, but if I had to pick some favorites:
🥩 Potato & wagyu: essentially beef tartare on the world's greatest hash brown—absolute perfection!
🍣 Uni sushi: fresh, sweet uni that melts in your mouth—OMG, love at first bite!
🦐 Scampi foie gras toast: the combo is ingenious—fresh, umami, earthy in one
🦞 Lobster chawanmushi: Umami lobster flavor in a silky smooth egg custard—truly the best of both worlds
🍝 Agnolotti: Mind-blowing liquid tomato filling, it’s an Italian xiao lung bao—the burst of tomato broth is sensational and unforgettable.
🐔 Chicken Wellington: A delightful twist on the classic—crispy flaky pastry and layers of savory, umami-filled chicken.
🍨 Pistachio ice cream: hands down the BEST I've ever had—rich, authentic pistachio flavor with a smooth texture that melts in your mouth. Absolutely epic!

A superb omakase menu that transports you to a CULINARY UTOPIA! ⭐⭐⭐

The restaurant was booked out so only bar seating available and it was the best seat in the house!

We got to see all the actions in the kitchen, how clean and tidy it is and how every dish was precisely done and prepared efficiently.

The sommelier recommended us the best Italian red wine we’d ever had. The food was amazing as well, definitely worth the price ($255 pp)

One of my favorite restaurants as a well-traveled American. Beautiful pier views of the bay with a Michelin worthy tasting menu of the most delightfully plated tour of flavors that perfectly fuse Italian and Japanese tastes. Wine list is also impressive. We will be coming back.

Went for birthday dinner. Beautiful view and great service. Amuse bouche were very salty but after that everything was excellent especially steak was amazing! Really enjoyed dining in Lumi. Recommend!

I loved this place!
We came for our anniversary and it was well worth every penny. We ordered the Omakase menu. Food was of high quality- fresh, delicious with attention to detail, especially in regards to presentation. Cocktails were also tasty, they also offer the traditional cocktails as well. The overall vibe was upscale, yet relaxed. Great location also. I would definitely come back for another special occasion. Thank you for having us!

I recently dined at Lumi and was thoroughly impressed by the perfection of everything. The agnolotti was the best I've ever had, an explosion of flavor in the mouth. Service is impeccable! Anastasia is such a gem, always ensuring every detail was taken care of. Massive thanks to GianMarco for his professionalism and making us feel truly special. Lumi is a dining experience not to be missed!

Nice restaurant by the water. Food was delicious and well presented. Some dishes were quite salty for my liking but overall they tasted nice.
We had the Tasting Menu with 4 entrees, 5 mains and 2 deserts to celebrate our 2nd Valentine’s together.

I had a fantastic first experience at Lumi. The location is superb, and the service was great. Each dish reflected a thoughtful touch, showcasing evident culinary research. A delightful dining destination.

We had the tasting menu and ordered a dozen oysters on the side. We also asked to add a few side dishes from the omakase menu and the chefs and staff were more than happy to oblige with the on the spot changes.

Each dish was unique and delicious, coming out quickly and served with great attention. The service was absolutely phenomenal, with our servers more than happy to have a chat and answer any questions we had.

This is the second time we’ve visited LuMi and we’re definitely looking forward to the next one!
