Neko Neko Newtown

This is the BEST Japanese restaurant in Newtown! actually in all of Sydney. The food is seriously delicious! This is a true hidden gem of Sydney. Very accommodating to all dietary requirements, heaps vegan and vegetarian options. Good for large groups. The vegan sushi is amazing plus Japanese beer on tap 💜Also the waiter was so friendly and helpful 😊 I’ll be back!!

Best Ramen Restaurant in Newtown! We had the Potato Katsu Curry and Spicy Ramen and they were both delicious! The service was great and the atmosphere had such a cool jazz/japanese vibe. Will definitely be back. 10/10!

Amazing little Japanese restaurant that serves mainly vegan / vegetarian dishes. Their seafood options are mock meat and taste great! As a non vegetarian I loved everything, especially their spicy edimame! Their staff were super helpful and friendly.

Great service and amazing food! I dine in with a friend. We got the Agedashi tofu and gf gyoza which was bloody amazing! So delicious! Also i got the spicy ramen and my friend got the yuzu ramen. Both were delicious. The ambience is great and simple deco yet very clean. The staffs were friendly and I got to practice my Japanesse! Thank you and will surely comeback here again!

Drove to the other side of town because of the popular vegan ramen and it is so worth it! The service is good, the staff called back to reserve the table for us before it’s closed. We had the bean & potato croquettes and super delicious quinoa gyoza for entrees! Wish we had two serves of the vegan gyozas! The vegan ramens are the highlights as well-we had the classic Neko Neko vegan ramen and the vegan tan tan men. Love this ramen bar! You can have gluten free or onion garlic free from your food as well! You have a regular now!

So damn good! Food was so fresh and delicious. Everything felt like it was the highest quality and made with love. Even the pickles and rice were beyond delicious. Service was fantastic and l will be back!

I've always ditched this place because it wasn't fully vegan but God, what a mistake.
Their vegan options are incredible. Everything is delicious.

This restaurant offers either pescetarian or vegan dishes. All ramen are vegan and there are different options for broth and toppings.

We enjoyed the diversity and the colorfulness of the ramen dishes.
The noodles seemed house-made, they were slightly chewy and flat.

The restaurant is small, but nevertheless seems to fit a lot of people.

Fantastic vegan ramen. First time I tried this and I had to say I am really impressed. The ramen soup is very flavoursome. It doesn't taste bland at all and the toppings is very generous. They not only sell vegan dishes, they have some seafood dishes too if you want bring someone who is not vegan. They are a fantastic Japanese restaurant with Vegan in mind.

The first thing you'll notice about this place is the front door. It's wooden, big and inviting. The rest of the venue is similar and beautiful.

I was the only one during this lunchtime opening so the service was prompt and cordial.

I ordered the something vegan salad with tempeh and the Neko Neko ramen. First the salad. I've never been a big fan of tempeh, the texture and taste doesn't do it for me. Until now.

The salad was amazing, it was fresh and umami all in one and the tempeh was coated with something and crispy. It was delicious.

The ramen was pretty average. It has a soy broth and I somewhat knew I wouldn't like it as much as the tan tan.

Overall though the atmosphere combined makes a pretty special place.

I am not vegan but this place nearly converted me. I loved the ramen here and the broth was surprisingly flavourful for me as I love a meaty broth. The mince replacement was top quality in fairness and I’d definitely go again

Best ramen I've had outside of Japan! The intoxicating aroma of the flavourful broth made my companion and I halt our conversation to admire the beauty that was laid before us. Combined with excellent textures and tastes, this ramen was brilliant. I'll be back ASAP.
Extensive vegan menu.

Great range of food, friendly staff, quirky and fun aesthetic! I had the Tan Tan Ramen, it was delicious. The Neko (cat) theme is adorable.

Nice refreshing yuzu ramen. The place is cozy and services are warm and friendly.

This meal brought a lot of joy to me. I'm not vegetarian but I enjoyed my meal thoroughly and will be back again. The owner previously owned Jugemu/Shimbashi in Neutral Bay which is my favourite Japanese restaurant in the whole of Sydney.

Highlight here appear to be the carpaccio teishoku which I regretted not ordering. Spicy tofu ramen is good , so was the prawn gyoza, oh and the salmon katsu curry with purple rice. I'll be back to try everything else on the menu! What an exciting new restaurant serving not-your-typical dishes

First time trying vegan ramen & it was goooood!
They were accommodating as we were walk ins. You pay at the counter & food comes out relatively quick.
A place you go for a quick bite to eat.
Nice slick fitout & friendly staff.

Tried the Teishoku plate and the Tantanmen and a side of potato croquette. All tasty and healthy. Tantanmen was creamy and noodles were springy and slurpable (is this a word?). Next time I’ll try the swordfish burger. Recommended.

Best vegan ramen in Sydney. The Japanese curry was also amazing. Well curated music. Highly recommend!

Each ramen dish was very nicely presented with lots of colour, flavour and textural components! I had the Neko Neko ramen and the tofu pocket crisp, flavoursome and melted in my mouth. Delicious!! Gyozas were also very nice.
