Amara

My husband and I celebrated Valentine's Day 2024 at Amara. We had their Valentine's Day set menu. The food was amazing! The atmosphere was relaxing! I loved the decor! The service was exceptional! I note Amara has been awarded a chef's hat. We've eaten in 2 and 3 hatted restaurants and we hope Amara soon adds another hat as they deserve it!

Stunning views & relaxing ambience in a secluded mountainous area. Staff were all so lovely, welcoming & helpful. The food service was fantastic as there was no standard menu & we were surprised by the chef. We had a really delicious beef main course & fragrant veggie side dishes.

Amara is probably one of the best places to eat in Sydney. The food is simply extraordinary, especially at dinner. The presentation is understatedly elegant, paying tribute to the surroundings and in harmony with the cosy atmosphere. Every time we come here the team has dreamt up some new combination of fresh, local produce and paired it with wonderful wines and the occasional Louis Roederer Champagne. The staff is always friendly and attentive, and careful to meet your dietary requirements.

Amara is an experience! Starts off strong from the moment the gates open to being greeted at the entrance and pre-dinner drink with a view. A seasonal menu from the freshest ingredients and an uncomplicated but varied wine list. Plus Brendan is 👌🏼 thanks for such a great evening. What a gem hidden in the Hawkesbury!

This place is a whole experience my partner and I had the most incredible time for his birthday!! We were surprised being greeted at the door and having our car moved for us, then you’re constantly looked after the whole evening by an array of lovely staff - compliments to Ella and Brendan for their amazing service! The food was incredible and so well thought out with each dish comprising of multiple elements that went so well together. It’s in a gorgeous location with a beautiful look out to enjoy cocktails on the balcony and a telescope to enjoy the moon. Was such an awesome experience, can’t recommend this place highly enough!!

Amara was like a little piece of heaven. We were only there for lunch and wished we were staying at the resort. We had the 5 course lunch and they catered for the 2 vegans. The service was very friendly. After we left we felt as though we had been on holidays and can't wait to return.

The food is so delicious and creative, you can see the chefs put a lot of love and time into making beautiful meals. My Partner and myself loved everything from the wine matching to the food and definitely will be back.

Such an amazing spot in the foothills of the mountains! Recently went here and 100% will be back. The food was amazing and every ingredient really did work together so well on the plate. I asked the somm for a couple of wine recommendations and she was so spot on! I would visit this place time and time again even if it was the same dishes. Amazing atmosphere and amazing food, highly recommend this place

We stayed here for our 5 year anniversary and my only disappointment is that we haven’t been there for every other anniversary prior to now. Wow. Wow, wow, wow. My husband and I are still trying to process the incredible food we indulged in during our 2 night stay. Where to start. First impressions were pretty high when we checked in and were treated to a 2 course lunch. Hands down- the best lamb I have ever, ever had in my life. Served with delicious sides, the bread they make in house and again- best bread on earth- but what really took our breath away was the pumpkin ice cream that followed. Neither me nor my husband like pumpkin- but this ice cream was transformative. We didn’t think the food could get any better but then dinner….. I can’t even accurately describe the flavours, the textures, the work and art that goes into these meals. 5 courses, every dish more incredible than the last- the wait staff (who are also amazing) run through the dish in great detail- I think the highlight of our dinners was their version of a ‘vegie parmi’. We loved that everything is sourced locally, the waitress actually pointed out where the ingredients for this dish were sourced from. I don’t remember exactly what was in this dish- kale I believe (something I usually turn my nose up at), and other vegetables, crumbed and topped with some kind of almond crumb, but the tomato foam it was served on- these chefs are MASTER minds! Every single mouthful was pure delight. Breakfast is the only menu you have to choose from- and take my advice. Have. The. Waffles. They make their own honeycomb from their own beehives.. seriously, the waffles are a must. That’s all I’ll say. I could write a 10 page essay on the food, the service, the whole experience at Amara was subliminal. We made the effort to go up to the kitchen after each meal and praise the chefs, and what a well run kitchen. You can tell every chef there wants to be there and takes a great deal of pride in their work.. honestly, I’m counting down the days until we can go back. I’m worried our dining experiences between now and then will only fall short. Thanks Spicers team, will be telling everyone I know to stay at this stunning retreat!

Beautiful location, atmosphere and food. Seasonal and locally sourced in the Hawkesbury . Brendan is a professional and a legend. We'll be back in the new season.

What a gem we stumbled across- beautiful private location with such a creative selection of taste sensations. Staff are lovely and welcoming. We will definitely be back.

Sadly the worst meal i have ever had. Awful stale coleslaw and boiled carrots with a tiny piece of pork. 95.00 per head..have to be having you on!!!. NO OTHER FOOD CHOICES ON THE MENU. V expensive and not nice wine. For a birthday treat extremely disappointed. Absolutely could not recommend anything about this restaurant or the resort.
