The Etna on Darby

It was the Special so I had Escargot as a main. Not expecting it in a Sicilian Restaurant. One of the best I have had, including France. Butter, garlic, speck, champonois mushrooms, a little chilli and basil. Truly superb. Do yourself a favour. 😊

Absolutely amazing. The food was mind melting and the service from everyone was above and beyond. They catered to my needs for a dine in order as well as a take away order for the rest of my family. Me and my family are very grateful that we experienced Etna on the Darby.

It's so authentic and just so tasty. I eat in or get takeaway whenever I head to Newcastle.

Took some friends here for lunch and it was absolutely delightful. The food was top quality and super fresh. Our friends had a baby and the staff were incredibly helpful. Great prices too.

I have been to the Etna twice now for dinner and I definitely have to say it's the best Italian in Newcastle. So traditional, tasty and homely. I couldn't fault the service either- super fast and efficient. Across the 2 evenings I have tried 3 different pastas, 2 different pizzas and 4 entrees. All exceptionally tasty! The pistachio gelato is to die for aswell. Thankyou to all the staff at the Etna. Just fabulous and I've never seen another restaurant so packed on a Monday night! Make sure you book! My favourites were bruschetta, hot pot prawns, fettucini carbonara, the Etna special, Hawaiian pizza and pistachio gelato. Thanks again guys and see you again soon x

True authentic italian food awesome no complaints and even italians love it

The most delicious and most authentic Italian food I have tasted in a long time. Every mouthful of food is simply joyful. I want to eat here every day!
Yes service could be better but I don't really care because the food is exquisite and the waitresses are really sweet and friendly.

The Etna AAAA+++ stop off for our Saturday afternoon ….. beautiful Italian very well done !! Honestly probably the most traditional you would find in Newcastle.

Second time at Etna, my wife and I had lunch some months ago, we intended to go back.
In this visit I took a friend of mine, he said he likes Italian food, after a hearty Lasagna he stated that this was the best he had ever had.
My meal was superb, veal with mushroom sauce, crisp vegetables, and a perfect cappuccino to finish. We had toasted bread with olive oil as a starter, complemented both meals.
The owner looked after us, great food, conversation about food and his home country, Sicily, added to my visit. It is a keeper.

My wife and i dined here last week. It was originally our go to when they where in King Street many years ago and then relocated to Charlestown for a while. Glad to see they are back. Albeit the place is very small, the food is big on taste, aroma and quality. The young guys cooking do an amazing job, the front of house staff fantastic greeting warm and friendly.
Coffee was great and the hot pot prawns I got mine with squid as well and chilli where divine.
Well done guys we will be back time and time again.

Most delicious seafood pizza and pasta, best we have ever had.

A small gathering to celebrate my nephews birthday for next week. The food was absolutely amazing! From the fried olives and fresh crusty bread, sizzling garlic prawns, garlic bread, gnocchi with Bolognese, gnocchi with carbonara and the spaghetti Sicilian, the meals were authentic and full of flavour, served piping hot with love and a smile from the staff. Can't recommend highly enough and can't wait to return. Grazie!
