It is a gorgeous gorgeous beach with different landscapes. You will need to walk 2.5 km from the car park to hit the water, but all the efforts are well worth it.
The first section is a shallow pond with some small fish dashing across the crystal clean water.
The sections section is the largest part with white sand and beach for swimming.
Then you will see big rocks and a rocky section, great for picking beautiful shells and playing in the water.
It is not a place for surfing, the waves are too strong.
A couple of Paramedics parked on top of the beach and a helicopter 🚁 hovering overhead for any chance emergent situations.
A wonderful place to enjoy the ocean.

Nice walk, take drinks and snacks. Very beautiful setting. Check tide times, and low tide is a must

Very beautiful and secluded beach area. The hike from the carpark is roughly a 30min walk so make sure you carry light.

Once you reach the beach, you are greeted with a beautiful and large shoreline with fine, powdery sand. The rock pools are also nice although when we went there we had high tide so we couldn't go to the larger rock pools. Keep this in mind if you're going there to just go to the rock pools.

Also, bring some water shoes if you have it because you have to walk on a lot of rocks and shells to get to the rock pools. The water was also cold even though it was a 30 degree day.

Sunday hike 4/4/21
Lived in Melbourne all my life & never knew of this gem, the hike was fairly easy could do it in thongs if you had to!
The views at the top are incredible & climbing the mounds next to the rock pools is very simple.

Jumping in the rock pool itself was amazing will definitely be going back there some day soon!

Please just make sure you look at the trek time and when the tides will be out so you don’t get in to a dangerous situation!

Amazing unspoilt beach and serene rock pool scene. Seems to be relatively undiscovered and not that many people visited while we were there between 12-2pm. Let’s continue to keep this a secret for the locals…

Came at around 10 AM but the tide was quite high and couldn’t see the rock pool. Took a walk up to Cape Schanck Lighthouse. Then back at the rock pool at around 2 PM, we can see the rock pool by then 😄
Took a dive and spent some time swimming in the rock pool, the water was quite cold, it was 24°-25° weather. If the weather was hotter and not too cloudy it would be perfect.
Make sure to wear shoes walking along the rocks, they were pretty sharp.

It is about a 30-minute walk from the Bushrangers Bay parking area. It would be ideal to be there as early as you can to avoid the rush and have ample parking.

The path down to the beach is narrow, sandy, and bumpy so do not bring your prams along! You might also come across snakes, so be careful

I would caution everyone wanting to have a swim in any of the pools to observe the tide. If the waves are getting stronger and higher, please get out of there for your own safety. The strong gush of water can drag you along the rocky area.

The rock pools are really nice and fish can be seen so better to bring your goggles.

Enjoy your visit!

This is a very remote sea area with strong wind and waves. I do not recommend taking young children to play, which is potentially very dangerous⚠If it is led by a parent with outdoor experience, it will be a good experience.

Amazing place to visit need at least 3-4hrs. Park at bushrangers bay car park it's about a 45min walk to the beach from there. This walk is very beautiful and easier than accessing from cape schanck as there are less stairs. Walk is loose fine sand narrow in places and lots of tree roots. It is not stroller friendly and is probably a level 3/5 for difficulty. There are some areas that trees are overgrown and you need to bend under them but it is mostly well maintained. There are no toilets no drinking water or taps no facilities. It is perfect nature. Suggest if taking kids under 5 that you are prepared with a baby carrier. Pack aeroguard flies are a problem, hat and at least 1-2 litres of water per person. Track is mostly in the shade. The rock pools are accessible only at low tide so check these before going. I would suggest parking car 2 hours before low tide, walk in with backpacks, spend 1hr there and leave when tide changes. Be careful this is not a patrolled beach and the tide changes quickly and you can be easily swept off the rocks. The rock pools are beautiful clear and lovely and warm to swim in. Car parking is limited and it does get very busy. About 80 stairs to go down to beach. Runners best suitable footwear.

Really easy nature walk to the bay maybe like <2km track. Pristine beach but probably too dangerous for swimming. Raw power of nature on display. Please look after this sublime spot and take rubbish home. Enjoy

Loved the family experience. Please note, if you are following google maps, google maps takes you to a private residence entrance gate. So the google maps direction is slightly incorrect.
To get to the beach area, you have to hike a good 2 km from the entrance. There are some narrow and uphill downhill section within the 2 kms.
The hike is not recommended with babies under 5 years old as you will most likely end up carrying the baby. The hike is not pram friendly so don't even bother.
When returning back to your car from the beach, the uphill track takes about 20 minutes.
Great little attraction and worth the hassle of hiking.

Breathtaking scenery. The variation of flora,.fauna and colour was just amazing. The whole coast from Cape Schank to Bushrangers Bay is like a constantly evolving masterpiece - the roaring waves the artist's chisel, the mighty wind His brush and the roiling seas and undulating rocky terrain His canvas.

A beautiful walk from cape schank, through winding coastal tracks and some fun stairs that leads you to a gorgeous wild ocean, when the tides out your able to walk along and climb up the large rock , where there’s beautiful hidden pools. Always be careful as large waves can come in from nowhere

Great adventure for all ages to make the trek to the bay, and swim in the rock pool. Best to time arrival with low tide. Pack according to the conditions and bring food and water.

one of the hidden paradise here in Victoria, amazing view and experience. the waves can drag you no matter how good of a swimmer you are so be careful when swimming on the deeper pools.

Great natural place, nice and cold rock pool, little bit dangerous if you go near edge because some times strong waves may catch you
