The Epicurean Red Hill - Shed Restaurant

The service for our lunch: we were reasonably impressed with the quality of life at the epicurean. We love the way the host spoke to her staff, created an inclusive and meaningful environment for the employees. The young waitress Savannah, did an impeccable job at her menu knowledge as we are tourists on holidays, with many questions regarding the menu and the history of the location.

Chef Darren’s menu has been impeccably crafted, to provide a flawless guest experience.

Well worth the trek to this place!! Awesome setting & fantastic service. Greeted by Chloe who gave us the run down on this masterfully re- designed historical building. Food delicious & decent serves. Excellent for large groups! Just be mindful no split bills & expected weekend surcharges.. doesn’t take away from the warm beautiful fireplaces & friendly staff. Do yourself a favour & experience this amazing place. You can thank me later…. 😁

We celebrated our wedding day on the 20th of October this year in 2023 at The Epicurean in Red Hill and it was pure magic.

‘The Loft’ upstairs is the perfect ceremony space with wooden romantic vibes with dim lit party lights over head. We were also pleased to hold our ceremony indoors and not worry about Melbourne’s forever changing weather, particularly in October - however we did get lucky on our day!

We held a micro wedding and The Epicurean’s 'Private Dining Room' at the back of the restaurant was absolutely perfect for our small group of 19. We had minimal florals as the space was already decorated with different textures of exposed brick, wooden barrels and warm leather couches for a comfortable feel.

The Epicurean have a beautiful walking trail directly behind them which includes a wooden BMX track and an old train station sign. So we didn’t need to walk far to get our photo’s with this stunning backdrop.

We absolutely could not fault The Epicurean’s professionalism throughout the planning process and on the day. The staff truly went above and beyond and made us feel comfortable throughout.
The food was AMAZING, no one went hungry and they also catered to all allergies.
We recommend The Epicurean extremely highly and so grateful they were part of our special day.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this atmospheric space. The wait staff were welcoming and delightful and the rear of the atrium area had floor to ceiling glass, opening out onto bush reserve. The place stayed cool on the exceptionally hot day we visited, but they also have 3 huge open fire places for during cooler weather. Our meals were delicious and served beautifully by the staff. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you.

My partner and I visited tonight, more than 5 stars!! Top of my list on best restaurants we’ve been to. Food was incredible as well as atmosphere and staff. We finished all our meals and had not one complaint! Could not recommend enough. Well done team, we’ll definitely be back😊

Wow! What an impressive space. Lots of rooms off the side for functions. Looks impressive. Really A+ service with great food. We had the pizzas which were delicious. Drinks menu good too. Highly recommend.

We visit The Epicurean quite often and have always had a good meal and really enjoy the atmosphere. I always have one of the pizzas and a wide choice is available. A few glasses of shiraz to complement the meal. Prices are reasonable and staff are friendly and helpful. I love the open fires on the cooler days. Parking is OK during weekdays but you can usually get a space.

We had a private group setting here and they placed us up in the Loft which was the perfect place for us to experience a private dining for 32 people.

The staff were exceptional and they did a wonderful job of creating a great dining experience for our group. The food was delicious and there was a lot of it!

In addition, they catered for all our special dietary attendees which received high ratings from them. They included vegetarians, vegans, gluten free and other special diets.

High praise for the staff to accomodate and making our evening special.

In 2022 I got married and had the reception at epicurean. I am lost for words at how amazing and smoothly everything ran! My husband and I can not thank the team at Epicurean enough for going above and beyond not only through out the night but for weeks and weeks before

Highly recommend having your wedding at the epicurean + the food is AMAZING!

Our first time here but definitely not the last. I highly recommend booking this restaurant as part of your Peninsula travels. The food is generous and well seasoned. Kerry, our waitress was incredibly friendly and hospitable. Hats off to the chefs for warming our bellies.

Absolutely enjoyed the great food and the "unica atmosfera" of this place. The start with their freshly baked bread with extra virgin olive oil and olives on the house was fantastic.
The starters were equally delicious , the salmon carpaccio with fresh herbs and the roasted pampkin salad with fresh greens... equally appealing.The handmade pizzas baked in authentic italian oven were to die for..absolutely delicious food, that magically transports you to the utmost delicious pizzarias in Italy..Definitely "a must" if you want an authentic memorable culinary experience with the family and loved ones ..
The ignited fire in the fireplace in the far end of the room was a phenomenal whoomph which added an extra vavavoom to this place...I would love to come back again with my family...

Wonderful Italian restaurant in Red Hill. Very roomy and inviting but still has an intimate feel. Main room has big fireplaces and high atrium style ceiling. Other function rooms available. Food was absolutely delicious. Wood fire pizza and lots of pasta to choose from. Good selection of wine and beer. Staff are attentive and friendly. Cannot recommend this venue highly enough. I will definitely stop in for a meal and a glass of vino whenever I am in the area. Looked pretty busy so make sure you book if you're going in the holidays or Saturday night.

Beautiful location with lovely dishes. Service is fantastic but you'll need to make sure you reserved the table ahead.

One thing to worry about - - only telstra has reception. If you have Optus of other network provider, make sure you do not need to be connected for the time that you are here, there was only SOS call within the km and minimal internet service on the mobile.

What a delight, and a good alternative for fully booked wineries. For our mornington visit the food here was one of the high lights!

This place is great value for money, with a lovely atmosphere and cheerful staff. The focaccia and calamari were outstanding. Come summer we will definitely swing by again and give the dinner options a try.

We were lucky though to arrive early to find that the 2p high tables were still available.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch at Epicurean, cold and rainy outside but toasty warm inside with multiple open fires. Food was served fast and the staff were all fantastic, especially Chloe who was friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Loved the food, will definitely go back

Great place to visit. We came here for lunch with a few families and three babies. They were very accommodating with anything we needed. The food was delicious and the prices reasonable (both food and drinks). Would come back again.

My absolute favourite venue in Red Hill. This stylish restaurant focuses on providing a 5 star service. The staff and team go above and beyond to ensure all of your needs a met.

The space in its self is an infusion of rustic and modern. I had the pleasure of photographing Jess and James wedding in Spring. Although we had planned for an outdoor ceremony, due to rain, plan B was quickly put in action. The process was made to look easy and seamless. Kate and Alex are extremely professional and are a delight to work with.

Heartfelt details, pregnant bridesmaids and an abundance of love and flowers made this special day one for the ages.

My wife and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary in the Barrel Room at the Red Hill Epicurean. We had the best time ever! The staff were amazing during the lead up to the event and on the day itself. The food was delicious and all our guest had a fantastic experience. We couldn’t be happier with how the day went. Thank you to all the team!!
