Bruny Island Ferry

Ferries were on time both ways and run frequently enough that if you miss one another will shortly follow. Do plan ahead if following a timeline as there was approximately a 30 minute lineup of cars to the island in the late morning when we went.

The ferry are always on time, I highly recommend arriving at the wharf 20mins ahead of schedule, there's always a line of cars waiting so it's best to be there earlier or you may miss the ferry.

Once you're on the ferry you can also get down to stretch your legs and enjoy the view. If you're lucky you might also get a chance to see some dolphins swimming alongside with the ferry 😄🐬!!

This is a quick ferry to reach Bruny Island from Kettering. It is about 40 minutes drive from Hobart. You can book the ticket online to avoid the onsite purchases. They departed on time. The price usually include return as well. The ferry boat is large enough to carry many vehicles. Usually there is ferry in every 20 minutes. Friendly staff. The drive in process is smooth and quick.

Easier to book online than to pay at the ferry.

Ferry is very prompt, it left at the time it said it would on the timetable (don't dawdle).

Excellent service, was on time and lots of staff to manage vehicle and people boarding and disembarking. Quick hop over to he island and back. $38 return for our small vehicle and people on car.

This is an excellent way to get to Bruny Island. It is also the only way! The price is extremely reasonable ($50 for a car and whoever is in your vehicle) and the trip itself is comfortable, well organised and you can either stay in your vehicle or get out and have a wander. Even in rough seas, which it was on the way home, you barely notice the waves and it is very comfortable! Highly recommend and really enjoyed! Made the start and end to a fabulous day even better!

Great service. Arrived at 12 noon, paid for the ticket on arrival and headed off on the 12.10 ferry. Efficient and well organised.

Efficient, quick and good value. Leave time for Cheese Factory, Get Shucked and House of Whisky before return to mainland.

I wish all car ferry loaded and unloaded as fast and efficiently as this one does the trip over and back was very smooth I highly recommend this one.

Extremely fast trip, under 10 minutes to Bruney Island. Seats on board and toilet which is good.

At a busy time of year, the queue was very long, but kept moving as there were 3 ferry craft operating. We waited about an hour to reach the head if the queue, but then boarding was brisk and friendly, the trip was quick and alighting was too. Our return trip was very quick and just as friendly and professional.

Great experience to and from Bruny Island from Kettering. The staff give excellent direction on how to get vehicles safely on and off the ferry. Trip across is quick and the entire process is very well run. Excellent value for money and we just paid when we arrived.

30/12/2022. Arrived around 2pm and waited around 2 hours to get on to the ferry. Make sure you allow enough time, which depends on the season I guess.

The staff at the gate is really nice and kind , unfortunately they didn’t offer the student ticket . But it really Reliable transportation！

Simple to get onboard. We were lucky to get the top deck and everyone were out taking pictures and under the sun. Make sure you get your petrol topped up. The island ain't that small.

It has been sometime since I last travelled on the bruny island ferry and I was so surprised with the efficiency of the service. I loaded our truck and trailer onto the ferry with ease and within no time I was disembarking firstly onto bruny and then the following day back at Kettering. The staff were very polite and performed their duties meticulously. Good work by all.
