Goldsborough Valley Campground

This is a fantastic camping spot.
The spots are right along the river, so you can go for a swim. The water connects to streams from the mountain and are very cold, but the main river body is a refreshingly cool temperature.

There's great hiking trials which can be started from near the camping area. And solid amenities that are well maintained.

It is a dirt track for the last 10 minutes, so be prepared to wash your car.

Lovely place to camp. Most camp sights are on lush green grass but we managed to nab the fully shaded spot which afforded us the opportunity to camp in the rainforest. This also gave us the privilege of experiencing some beautiful rainforest birds that the other sites would have missed out on. The river is beautiful but a little hard to access due to the steep river edges. Great for kayaking and floating on rings. Bring your mountain bikes (or bikes in general) and you will be able to access the 8.6km one way walking or bike track which is very worth while doing. Beautiful.

Amazing spot to swim & an even better spot to camp. Absolutely beautiful, shallow & crystal clear water to float through all day.

A must for river and waterfall lovers. some few picnic tables and two basic bathrooms. Bring your own food and toliet paper. Camping is permitted, you will need to book and pay in advance. easy 2wd access, however check in rwiny season as you need to pass a causeway.

Great place. The rainforest is amazing..the river so fresh and clean.

Stunning oasis! Quiet and peaceful. Not many people staying here. Flushable toilets, no showers. Campfires allowed. Too cold to swim in Aug unfortunately but good for a spot of fishing! Only stayed here one night but wish we could have stayed longer.

I live out here so I feel lucky to be able to call this beautiful part of North Queensland home. Goldsborough is just magical with its own weather which is normally around 5 degrees cooler than Cairns. Lots of wildlife too so be careful on the roads.

Wonderful camping spot, book your spot ahead, clear cool water for a river swim, huge firepit, and flush toilet 😊
