It's not often you find a place where the quality of the coffee is as good as the quality of the food, until you visit St James. I happily went over my daily caffeine limit and contemplated moving to Richmond after trying the folded Spanish eggs...
Amazing coffee, food, and cocktails, friendly staff, attentive service, plus a vibey interior with exposed brick and good music.
Will definitely be back with the girls until I can try everything on the menu.

Had a fantastic brunch at St James last weekend! Staff were attentive and accommodating of such a large group (10 group) and coordinated coffees, cocktails and food orders with ease. I ordered the hot cakes which were delicious but everyone’s meals looked and tasted fantastic! Will definitely be back and can happily recommend this place to anyone!

Great cafe along Bridge rd in the heart of Richmond. Everything was tasty; coffee was spot-on, as was the beef brisket. Food came quickly.

I can’t say enough good things about St James in Richmond! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality by the absolutely amazing staff. Their kindness and friendliness truly enhanced our dining experience.

The cafe itself has such a vibrant and inviting atmosphere, with a fantastic mural on the wall that adds a unique charm to the space. We especially appreciated the outdoor seating area, which was perfect for enjoying the beautiful weather on a hot day.

Now, onto the food – it was an absolute delight! The Melbourne Sunrise smoothie ($11) was a refreshing burst of flavors, with the perfect balance of mango, raspberries, and orange juice. And let’s talk about the Hot Cakes ($25) – not only were they delicious and flavorful, but they were also a feast for the eyes with their beautifully presented apple-shaped ice cream topping.

But the true star of the show was the Corn Fritters ($25). These fritters were a flavor explosion, with the perfect combination of corn and Manchego cheese. The accompaniments, including the beetroot hummus, whipped ricotta, and seasoned avocado, elevated the dish to another level. My husband was so enamored with his plate that he was reluctant to share – and I (almost) don’t blame him!

Overall, our experience at St James was nothing short of exceptional. The food was divine, the coffee was great, the atmosphere was inviting, and the service was top-notch. We can’t wait to return for another culinary adventure and indulge in more of their delightful dishes!

I came here with a big group, which they catered to really well. The staff were friendly and helpful with their tips on what to order and weren't at all annoyed when we kept asking them for photos.

I got the pumpkin smash and it was genuinely one of the best brunches I've had in a long time. The flavours worked together so perfectly well and it also came with these absolutely delicious bits of fried haloumi. I feel like this cafe has a lot of great options for vegetarians but also I'm not vegetarian so I added bacon to my dish. YUM!

The coffee was also really good. I ordered an ice latte with coconut milk and this was perfect on a hot day (before we got into the cocktails 😅). The cocktails were also delish and reasonably priced.

10/10 will be going back to St James Cafe! Next up I'm keen to try the corn and manchego fritters. I have it on good authority from our server that the tacos are also top notch. 👌

When I looked at the menu, I thought the prices were a little bit steep. But then the food came out. I had the big breakfast, just called “breakfast”, and it was absolutely delicious. The Rosti was the highlight of the plate. Can’t wait to have it again.

I went for a late brunch and highly recommend the summer salad with added halloumi bites. Great combo and surprisingly filling. Top notch magic coffee, and also a cheeky and refreshing mojito. Already looking forward to the next visit

St James is a great place to go for a brunch! Delicious fresh food, friendly staff, great music and the atmosphere in the place is very chilled to share a moment with friends/family to catch up! Highly recommended!

Don’t often leave reviews, but this is an exception. I’ve been visiting St James since Covid; mainly at that time for their Almond Croissants & coffees (yum)! Recently I went back for a brunch & it did not disappoint!!

Got the Spanish Folded Eggs & a couple of coffees! Highly recommend making the trip out, staff were so lovely with a buzzing cafe energy all morning!

Plus super close to Gleadall St Farmers Markets, so it’s such a wholesome way to start your weekend!

I had such an amazing brunch at St James Richmond! The service could not have been any better - the staff were super friendly and helpful. The food was delivered incredibly quickly, especially as the cafe was busy. The atmosphere was lively and friendly. The food was incredible! I ordered the Cauliflower Fritters without egg or avocado, and they were easily about to accommodate my dietary request. It's not often that a cafe can handle a group of 10 so easily! 10/10 would recommend

Came back here after many years, and delighted that it’s as good as I remember. The breakfast burger was insane, although I’d recommend anyone to heed the provision of knife and fork, otherwise you’ll be faced with a deconstructed burger on your plate after a bite. So great and will return!

The food is exceptional here. I've been here many times and the kitchen has an ability to make typical breakfast dishes fresh and exciting. The brisket was amazing and full of flavour. The hotcakes are huge and super fluffy. The Spanish folded eggs with Sambal are genius. Great, low key service. Excellent coffee. It's often deservedly busy but that does mean it gets a bit loud when full. Can't recommend highly enough.

Had a great time with friends at bottomless brunch at St James. The servers were lovely and the drinks and food came out quickly, and we weren’t rushed out the door to leave when we finished. The pancakes were delicious and everyone else at the table said their meals were amazing. Will definitely be back here for a coffee or meal with friends and would recommend it to anyone!
