Dr Gillian Nalder

I have a lifetime of experience with wonderful medical practitioners poking, prodding and piecing me back together.
From broken bones, heart(s), brains and more to thoroughly assessing samples of me taken away in jars to see what may be up with me,… there are an elite few in terms of whole of human treatment specialists and when it comes to pain treatment therapy Dr. Gillian Nalder stands among the Goddesses in her field of work. For me pain had origins in my bones (or missing bones), heart and mind and, separate but alongside my psychiatric carers, no one I have found came close to Dr. Gillian’s ability to very quickly understand, relate and respond to the complexity of my personal situation.

I have had wonderful treatment of pain in isolation and mental health in isolation, however Dr. Gillian’s inter-relatability allowed me to very easily find trust in her care and therapeutic advice which in turn resulted in a complete paradigm shift in my journey to recovery.

Dr. Gillian both spoke to the connection between mind, body and soul/self and the benefits, perhaps requirements, of addressing all simultaneously and was not at all put off by my resolute opinions of what is happening within me in all these facets of self when I tried to convey my personal pain situation.

Much gratitude owed and showed to Dr. Gillian, Brisbane Rehab team and my referring psychiatrist and his helper. 🙏🏼💚

I am just so lucky to have Dr Nalder and her colleagues for my medical care. Without Dr Nalder my life would be so different. God bless you and thank you so much.

Dr Nalder has lead my pain and rehabilitation management for the last year. She has been exceptionally caring, knowledgeable understanding of my conditions.

I was referred to Dr Gillian Nalder during the first week of having been diagnosed with bowel cancer. Over the last three months (mainly as an inpatient at Greenslopes Private Hospital) Dr Nalder has closely monitored the extreme pain caused by a combination of the cancer, radiation and ulcerative colitis. It's been a sair fecht as we say in Scotland and has had the surgeons and specialists scratching their obviously very intelligent heads but the pain is now well under control and I no longer wake up screaming in pain.

This is quite certainly due to the huge brain and interpretative skills of Dr Nalder.

For which I thank her ... from my bottom and from my heart.

Dr Nalder is an excellent specialist in her field. She listens, is very proactive with providing various treatment options and is genuinely concerned for the welfare of her patients.

I couldn't ask for more, Dr Nalder definitely has my back (pun intended).... The genuine concern, dedication, and quality of care is second to none.

Dr Nalder has been very professional and helpful and caring. Always there if needed and shows concern for her patients. Thats my experience.

All I can say is Thank God for DR Gill :) , She is passionate , caring and just an all round Lovely person and a great Dr :)

Understanding. Non judgmental. Kind knowledgeable doctor.

Dr Nalder is incredibly caring and empathetic, and experienced in her field. She provides the best support she can for her patients and has a unique understanding of pain experiences in people with hypermobility and neurodivergence. Sadly for us, she is only one person and a very busy person at that.
I can understand the reasons for the one star reviews, as the ketamine treatment for pain is a whirlwind that can be scary (it was for me) and have knock on effects in other areas of life. One star off because minimal information is provided ahead of time and it’s difficult to get in touch with anyone via reception if you have questions before, or issues after. As most other medical professionals have little experience with ketamine infusions, directing us back to community care providers doesn’t do much.

Doctor Nelder was amazing she cared so much and went out of her way to help me with pain management. 10/10 thanks

No empathy at all. Ignored all my symptoms in hospital and put them down as side effects of the ketomine infusion. Which she put me in a room for 10 days, I think I was her twice. She also didn’t put my name down for the next stage of the pain program so I was booted out of hospital on the same day I was told there was no longer a placement for me. This was about 4 years ago now. I am now sicker than ever and have nowhere else to go but would rather be bed ridden than deal with Nalder again.

A pain management specialist who refers you to pain management without even meeting you or knowing anything about your injury. Do yourself a favor and if this person is on the top of anything you have, run or they will just sign you off to a worthless pain management program.
