It is not the best hostel in the world, but it is certainly the best to end the 88 days. My boyfriend and I didn't speak English, but we were Helped Since the first day they always made us work seven days a week. It was a really great way to save money, we really regret leaving because it was an incredible experience the staff are fantastic people, especially the manager Donato who helped us from the first day always ready to solve all our problems . We hope to return here for our second year and we thank everyone for the welcome they gave us.

The manager Donato is the best manager that I have never find in a hostel. The hostel isn t the best one, it should be more clean in the room, at the begining also in the kitchen, but now with the new cleaner Daniele it s better. About the work here you can finish in a easy way your 88 day

Ended up spending just over 6 months at Tolga Backpackers got my 88 days done really fast. I even had work during the quiet period. It's the perfect place to get your days completed as well as meet new people and save some money. Also it's in a good location with plenty of lakes and waterfalls to check out during your spare time. I recommend this place to any backpacker looking for farmwork.

I loved the place since day 1, back in mid Feb 2020. The staff were nice to me and accommodating. Was stuck here during the Corona lockdown. There was no where else in the world I would have loved to be during those trying times. Made very good friends there and completed my 88 days of farm work. Saw a lot of amazing things like human-trusting Wallaby, colourful sunsets, planets and stars in the sky, even the Milky Way Galaxy core and a full rain bow! Thank you so much Delon, Sarah, Donato, Isa, Trev, Reggie, Bob and rest of the crew!

Heads up for those who are reading the reviews to go here: Grocery shopping runs on Mon, Wed and Fri at 6pm or 6.30pm. Nearest Woolies is in Atherton. Washing machine, dryer, lockers, air conditioning and parking space available. Bed sheet, blanket and pillow case changes every Thu or Fri. For the chefs out there, there is also an oven here (microwave of course and the normal one where you can put pizza). Wifi is 1GB free and you can pay for more. If you are using Telstra, it can be hard to get a signal in the rooms. You may have to go outside. If you're using other companies like Optus or Vodafone, good luck. (I have no idea if they've got good signal. I used Telstra.) Fairly strict rules to accommodate everyone. If you are going in high season, be ready to start work almost immediately. If you happen to be there during low season, please be patient with Delon (manager). He's probably doing all he can. Absolutely no alcohol, drugs, weapons and violence on campus. If you've been in an urban jungle for the most of your life, do spend a minute at night to admire the night sky (on a cloudless night). There are also a few natural attractions around, like Lake Tinaroo and Lake Eecham. You could drive to those locations or even cycle.

Take it one day at a time. Starting your day off with an "I can do this all day." (Captain America) attitude helps a lot. Know that the new friends you've made there understand your pain and are probably going through similar experience.

And remember this when you there: Tolga Backpackers is a working hostel.

Hostels great and management are there to give help whenever you need it. Is is also nice and clean and rooms are comfortable and safe to keep your belongings in. would recommend.

I have been there in 2016, for the 88 days for the second working holiday visa.
I stay there for 5 months, amazing experience of my life, I loved!
One of my precious memories ever!

Stayed here to do my 3-months regional work, great accommodation and great location, near everything you'd need. Staff helped source me 'good' work, recommended!

Beautiful and clean hostel, with nice and gentle people. I spend 3 unforgettable months here and it will miss me so much.

That’s the perfect place to get your 88 days done. I always have work during my time there and I completed my 88days in 3 months and half so it was very fast.
It’s also a nice place to leave and to meet people from all the world. I had a room for my 2 friends and me with our own bathroom it was pretty nice.

Good place to do your Farmwork. The Boss is nice and helpful and try Always to get your days filled. The atmosphare is Family based and you can get easily in contact with people. It's quiet really early and good to Rest.

Very cool place, quiete and full of wallaby. The lady at the reception is very gentle and give as a discount. If I wasn't out of money I would stay there.
