I hate shopping . I whizz in n out like a ninja when I do have to shop.

Also hate being pestered by assistance .

Jordan changed all that for me. He was more than great. He was amazing .Full of energy, extremely helpful , great advice . A few extra tips along the way .

I went in for a look and walk out spending $800 bucks . Best part is it was super fast.

Boss person take note: what was surprising was the excellent customer service. When he realised that you didn't have what I wanted, the gentleman with the exemplary moustache (sorry, didn't catch a name) didn't try to 'up-sell'; he told me where I might find what I was looking for.
All I said was 'non-waterproof moab' and he knew exactly what it was and where it might be found (would you?).
There's a time and a place for suggesting Salomons or equivalent, but I think this guy got it that I've been around a bit and know what works for me, so to try 'up-selling' is merely annoying. Instead, he simply made a suggestion as to where I might find the specific thing I was after.
No sale. Fail. Manager angry. Manager throw banana.
But...
What this means is that there's a place I know where if I need a wicking underlayer, I know where to go to ask an informed opinion (wicking underlayers not being my strong suit - call me old-fashioned).
Anyhoo, it means no sale today, but repeat customer established, thanks to the mysterious mustachiod man.
So, boss person, that's customer service to a T. I'll buy my stuff online and shop around, but when I want something I know nothing about, I'll be back with a fist full of dollars to pick the brains of Monsieur Moustache (possibly a pirate in a past life).
Sometimes it's worth not trying to 'up-sell' if it means someone is going to come back. It's a key to customer loyalty and it's invaluable - yes, I could get this online, but I choose to attend this business so that I don't buy the excellent product online but get it slightly wrong for Scotland in January, because instead of relying on Google, I've had a chat with someone who knows stuff and things.
'Up-selling', so called, is the one thing that will deter me (and I'm sure there are others) from ever returning.
Quality people on the shop floor? Invaluable.

My wife and I were looking for a pair of hiking shoes, and came in just to browse around. We were met by Amalya who was very knowledgable and guided us to the right choice of shoes for us. I was impressed by her knowledge which was complemented by her own personal experience (hiking and camping) that precluded potential downfalls of shoes that were simply not the type of shoe for the type of hiking we do. Although initially the visit was meant to be a browse around we were very happy to have met and bought with Amalya. Highly recommended store and staff=)
