Cucina Abruzzese, Authentic Italian Cuisine and Bar

Delicious and traditional. Owned by the master chef, Ale who is also a marine biologist studying the coral and local sea fauna. The agnello cacio & ova is typical from Ale’s homeland in Abruzzo, Italy.

The atmosphere and the staff were very nice, the food was delicious and very good portion for the price. I can only highly recommend!

All I can say is... delicious! I am a born and bred Italian and it was so great to see some authentic, regional Italian dishes. So full of flavour. Love the tapas style plates, which are great for sharing. Great service as well, everyone was friendly and helpful. Good beverages selection, excellent desserts and very well priced. Will go again and again!

The food and wine are superb. The pasta and gnocci were light and delicious. We also had calamari on skewers which were tender and succulent.
We tried one of the Italian white wines which was quite delicate, and reminded me of a light, high quality Australian chardonnay.
Love the idea that every dish can be an entree or main. We tried four dishes, between two, which was enough, and meant we had variety.
It is also well priced for the quality.
We'll be back to try some more dishes, and drink more Italian wine!

It was highly entertaining and the food was great.

Not sure if the restaurant is open for business in general, due to Covid restrictions, and I was told by other patrons that they are serving pizza from the rear of the restaurant. Friendly service.

Simply the best Italian restaurant I've ever had the pleasure of dining at. The food is delicious and authentic and the service is second to none, so friendly. You're crazy if you don't give it a try. Also, very importantly, not outrageously expensive. Thanks girls :-)

Nonna style food, rich in Italian flavours. Best Italian I’ve had in a long time! Home made pasta with slow cooked beef ragu. Mini pizza garlic bread to start with bursting with flavour, Italian olive oil, sea salt & thyme. We had mains of Ricotta ravioli, gnocchi and a side of eggplant lasagne. All absolutely delicious.

Friendly staff & high chair available.

The best Italian food with incredible service - very authentic! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! We came on a family holiday from Sydney, so we were relying on the high google reviews - this restaurant deserves a 5/5!! We will be back :)

It doesn't get more authentic than this! A family owned and operated business which delivers honest italian cuisine. The quality of the service and food brings a new meaning to fine dining with combinations you've never seen. From their Bruschette Miste with traditional italian sausage to the Gnocchi Abruzzese accompanied with a mouth watering ragu, you wont be dissapointed! Please do yourself, family or friends a favour and enlighten them with an experience you will not forget!

Absolutely delicious!!! Love that you can choose loads of little plates of Italian delights. Everything we ate we enjoyed. The restaurant itself is nice and staff were very friendly. Highly recommend..

Best Pizza! Our family loves Italian food, especially my son, he normally have Margarita Pizza from local community Italian restaurant every week. I also learned Jamie Oliver recipe and cook Pizza and pasta myself. I found L Abruzzese has best Pizza. The dough is perfectly raised and perfectly cooked. Not like most of shop, their dough is normally too salty. I also recommend L Abruzzese seafood dish! And friendly staff and clean venue, which is quite important right now as people are worry about virus spread! Thank you !

Everything was wonderful! Staff were friendly and attentive. Pasta was some of the best I've ever had, a little bit more expensive but definitely worth it for hand made. Large portions too which is hard to get for hand made pasta.

Amazing food, wonderfull staff and great atmosphere. Ale has done a fantastic job setting up the menu with a variety of delicious small plates to sample. So good to see a great new venue open in cairns. 10/10 will be going again highly recommend!

Can definitely recommend this restaurant. So many choices and offering entree size portions is a great way to try all the delicious authentic Italian food. The service is excellent. Great restaurant, will definitely be back.

Great food and really excellent value. The gnocchi is to die for, the veal rolls amazing and really tasty pasta. Great to see authentic Italian food with great service in Cairns.

The idea of sharing small portions of amazing Italian dishes made for such an authentic experience. Highly recommend and will be coming back again.

We went for aperitivo and had to have the prawns and the lamb for our antipasto. We should have stayed for secondo but we had dinner at home. We will be back.
