Beautiful spot for a lovely dinner. Highly recommend the lobster rolls - tasty morsels of lobster with a bit of spice, between cloud-soft milk buns.
Another standout is the key lime pie - melts in your mouth with some amazing shortbread to back it up.
Gets busy between 6-7pm, would recommend booking in advance.

Best meal ever! The cutest little restaurant in Newcastle with a fantastic menu and an even better host in Jack. The crab dumplings, trout, lobster buns - all excellent. The crème brûlée was the cherry on the cake. Come here for a fabulous time under beautiful lights. I could sit there for hours just drinking and eating. Loved everything about this place. My tummy was full but my heart wasn’t. The perfect dinings experience - cannot be missed. I’d come back just to dine at Scotties!

First time to Scottie’s and it did not disappoint; a wonderful selection of food & wines, we thoroughly enjoyed and look forward to our next visit!

We visited on a sunny afternoon and enjoyed sitting outside while we waited for our food. Once our food was ready, we were pleasantly surprised by the lightness of the batter on the fish and the fresh flavours of the cabbage salad. We’d love to be able to make this ourselves at home. Would definitely go back here when in Newcastle.

Came here on a Wednesday after a long walk to enjoy some wine and food.

Ordered he bartered fish and chilli squid which was the highlight of the experience.

Even on a weekday, this venue was filled with happy customers and overlooked a beautiful sunset on Newcastle beach.

I would recommend this place to anyone searching for a casual dinner with exceptional service and squid to die for.

Absolutely beautiful experience. Food was incredible and the staff were kind, warm and welcoming. The waitress who looked after us made such a good impression on my mother who has a severe food intolerance and took the time to communicate the meals that did not include the food in question. Great food, friendly service and nice ambience. We were stopping by Newcastle on our way home to Sydney from Port Stephens. Had no idea what to expect and just stumbled upon Scotties, and we made a very good choice. Very very happy with our experience.

Awesome restaurant with a great vibe close to the beach. Food and cocktails were delicious and staff were very friendly and helpful. We had the king prawn pancake, sambal lobster bun and blue swimmer crab dumplings and all were super tasty and would recommend.

Was very happy to visit Scotties for the first to try Murat Ovaz’s sensational take on Turkish cuisine. The food was extraordinary as was the service and atmosphere. Highly recommended from me.

Scotties is a Must-visit for Newcastle locals and tourists alike.
The menu features an eclectic mix of inspired seafood dishes from their kingfish sashimi to their Morton bay pluto pups! All incredibly different and all delicious.
Nestled in a beautifully converted terrace, the restaurant is about a 3 minute walk from the beach with a cosy outdoor seating area well away from the chaos of the main CBD.
The staff are friendly, attentive and happy to have a little chat if the opportunity presents.
We had a wonderful lunch here sampling their Lobster Club sandwich, Tuna Ceviche and a fish kebab. The ceviche was an absolute hit with its bold yet balanced textures and flavours.
Our lunch came in at about $120 including drinks so I wouldn’t call this an everyday experience for the average lunch. In our opinion it was well worth the price.
We’ll be back soon to try the rest of the menu!

Amazing lobster club sandwich!! I would highly recommend it. The grilled fish and chips were great too. Also try the iced tea: chamomile, lime and lychee, delicious. The atmosphere was really nice with the outdoor seating and festoon lighting. Service was friendly. Great place.

Right from walking in to Scottie's the experience was just what you want on a Friday lunch - relaxed and professional team to meet you with banging flavours to enjoy on each plate - being away from Sydney for the weekend we were not sure what we would find and a gem is the answer

I dropped here for a short staycation from sydney, loved the vibe, atmosphere and lovely food and service. The experience at this place felt like another holiday within a holiday. Highly recommended place for catching up with pals and romantic time with loved ones

The food was absolutely incredible and worth the wait on one of their busiest days.
The staff were amazing at providing us excellent service and accomodating to us despite how busy it was for Mother's Day. Thank you - I can't recommend it enough, we will be back and an absolute visit!!!

The food here is always fresh and delicious. There is nothing better than being tucked into this lovely restaurant with the beautiful Newcastle East at your door step. Excellent every single time.

The food was amazing!! But the service was absolutely fantastic. We were greeted with a warm welcome and were very detailed about the menu and service though out the meal. I would recommend this to anyone!!

I was shocked to see less than 5 star reviews. I live in Melbourne and am a regular at a chippery called ‘northern soul’ which is great. But I was impressed by Scottie’s. We got the Hoki and chips and I loved how light the batter was, not super oily and not too over bearing. I ate the entire piece which I never do anywhere as the batter is too much for me usually. The chips were perfectly seasoned and you could tell they were freshly cut.
Great music, great atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and chatty.

Scotties is fantastic! We enjoyed a family take away seafood picnic feast today! The lovely owner assisted me to find a perfect mix of grilled and fried seafood with fabulous rustic handout chips! I will be dreaming of returning to Newcastle just to revisit Scotties!!
