Cj's French & Fondue Restaurant

A quirky romantic bistro for a cosy supper with close friends. The French owner couldn’t do enough for us and the fondue was yummy. BYO too which kept the bill within our budget. Enchantee 😊
(Atmosphere only lost a star because it was a very quiet evening at CJs. Sunny day and maybe everyone worn out by the beach!)

Found this place on google and was sold on the reviews of the fondue, although I believe the highlight was the hospitality and the entrees. We ordered the french onion soup (to die for!), chicken liver pâté (generously portioned and delicious) and the escargot (so buttery and flavourful). We finished on the crepe suzette which I would honestly travel 1 hour back for. The service was amazing. The owner was so sweet and made you feel right at home. Definitely recommend this place for a casual, French dining experience. 5 stars all round!

CJ’s cheese fondue is nice. They tailored it for Aussie taste so it’s quite nice for the taste. Service was reasonably quick.

The owners are very attentive and friendly. We have nothing but nice words to say.

Their espresso is very French style and very nice.

Third time here, never disappoints and the fondue is always a fun experience. Service can be a bit slow when busy but I know that’s only because they go above and beyond serving schnapps and making sure you have enough bread to lap up every bit of that delicious cheese.

My favourite are the premium eye steak with garlic parsley butter, and Prawn with French-style fondue! But beef with the French fondue is also a popular choice!

I have gone to this restaurant for years. The owners are so lovely and food is amazing. The snails are delicious and the meat fondues are such a good option for sharing. I have the veal and it is amazing as well. Everything is so well done. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxing with the dim lighting and calm french music. Best french restaurant in Sydney hands down & great prices. Will be coming here for years!

Excellent excellent homestyle authentic French food. The steak was melt in your mouth good! Lemon crepe was superb. $4pp BYO. Prebook as it's tiny inside. It was unexpectedly packed on a weeknight but the kitchen and solo waitress handled it very well

Our visit to CJ's French & Fondue Restaurant on the 24th of December was a heartwarming experience, reminiscent of our cherished traditions back in Switzerland.

The restaurant, though small, exuded an irresistible charm that added to its cozy ambiance. We embarked on a quest to find a place serving Fondue in Sydney, and stumbling upon CJ's was an absolute win.

The Fondue menu was a journey down memory lane, starting with a small cheese Fondue that transported us straight back home. The authenticity and flavors were spot on, evoking a sense of nostalgia that made the holiday season feel complete.

Moving on to the main course, the meat Fondue, with its sizzling hot oil pot and a delectable selection of meats and shrimp, was nothing short of exceptional. Each bite felt like a taste of home, and it was heartwarming to find a restaurant that could fulfill our festive traditions so wonderfully.

Love Cj's! Came here for a birthday on Saturday night and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The restaurant is family owned by a lovely couple who offer fantastic high quality food while making you feel welcome and special! Very much looking forward to a return visit soon.

We have been dining at cjs for many years, always food & services are excellent, their french food would say is one of the best like snails in garlic parsley butter sauce, and Swiss cheese fondue is yummy, we never had a bad experience dining at cjs, highly recommended,

Great restaurant with fantastic food. Lovely friendly welcome as soon as you enter, not a lot of tables, so definitely need to book. Cheese fondue was so good and the beef fondue has very tender meat, leave room for a Crepe Suzette as they were amazing 😀
