We parked here and did the walk around to Wave lookout then up to Bustard look out. The walk around and back took just over an hour. Need good walking shoes and water. Easy walk. Saw butterflies and an echidna along the way.

The memorial is simple and effective, there is an app you can download that will give you more info it's just not easy and intuitive to use. The parking is great, there were enough spots when we got there and the bays are normal size. Definitely take the stairs to the beach...

More interesting for what's around it than the memorial itself. Just a pile of rocks with an old plaque, but there is some more interesting information on the surrounding signs. You can also walk from here to the headland via the butterfly walk or there's a short track down to the water as well.

A well kept site in memory of Cpt Cook's visit to Qld. There's a small carpark and a couple of walking tracks that lead down to the rocky shore.

Beautiful spot and nice to see real evidence of our history preserved without the bias. Yes, the monument is simple given the great navigator that Captain Cook was, but little do people know, or taught for that matter that he was a simple, humble man, just one way ahead of his time. As he said 'if you want to lead the orchestra you must turn your back to the crowd. All we have today stems from what he paved the way for.

We often ride from Agnes Water to 1770, it's a lovey 7km one way trip on a bike path for most of the way, we like take a break and enjoy the beautiful views and often try to imagine how it must have looked to Cook and his crew. They say it had not changed much at all. The views along here are very beautiful, with possibly the best sun sets in Australia :)
