I love the cruises out on Yellow Water and the South Alligator River. Sure, there are crocodiles but for me seeing the nesting white bellied sea eagles (3x nests), whistling kites, black necked storks and all the other birds is just amazing. So far I have spent about 40 hours cruising and I still want to go back for more.

One of my definite highlights of my visit at Kakadu Nationalpark.
The Organization is professional with the pickup at Cooinda resort and the boats are in good condition. Also our boat had a toilet on board.
My highlight was the committed and passionate guide who explained what to see and giving serious background information in an entering way making the tour something special.
The two hours flew by with many beautiful impressions.

The early morning tour is worth getting up early to see a beautiful sunrise and see the most of the bird and crocodile life. Especially during the summer season (December/January) most animals hide in the shade in the noon.

We did the Sunrise tour today. WOW!! What an experience. So glad we did it. Our Guide/boat captain, Don, was excellent. He clearly has a passion for the area/region and what he does. Wonderfully informative, fantastic scenery...an absolute must do.

The Yellow Water Cruise is a fantastic and worthwhile cruise to go on and see many crocodiles and other wildlife.

Our tour guide Jackie was great and very knowledgeable.

This should be on your list if you're going to Kakadu!

Of course you can see some crocodiles. However I’m impressed the birds. Omg it is such a wonderful river cruise. The guide was very skilled and knowledgeable. He adjusted all the time in order to allow all passengers to take nice photos. I am really happy to take the tour and spotted many animals.

We did the 2 hour sunset cruise which was stunning. One of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen in my life. Our guide was friendly and informative.

Awesome trip. We went on the 9am cruise and it was fantastic. Boat not too busy (like the dawn trips), plenty of wildlife and neither too cold nor too hot. Heaps of crocodiles and birds and we had a guide with a wealth of knowledge. Highly recommend

I did the sunrise cruise and it was just gorgeous! There were so many croc and I lost count of all the different bird species I encountered. Was worth every cent, and I was particularly impressed with how much the guide was able to share about the animals and landscape!

This is a brilliant area to take a boat ride and take in all the wonderful nature. If you want to see crocodiles you will see a lot along the waters. We took a sunset cruise and we got to see the crocodiles on the embankments catching the last sunlight of the day. It was an amazing experience and I would go there again if I ever come back. Well worth booking a cruise and you will not be disappointed.

Went on the sunset cruise. It was spectacular!
Try to get a seat at the front of the boat for the best experience.

My husband and I did both the sunrise and sunset cruise. We had Rob as our skipper on both occasions, who was a very pleasant and funny guide. We saw lots of wild life (birds and crocs- including a 4.5m one as well as fauna). Views were beautiful. My personal favourite was the sunset cruise for the change of colours on the billabongs. Icy water is provided and we luckily dodged the mosquitoes. Would recommend bringing hats, suncream and cameras.

It is amazing place to see native Australian wildlife. The cruise was relaxing. The commentator / your guide / boat captain was funny. Recommend to do either sunrise or sunset cruise. Should take hat or wear light long sleeves as the sun is very hot. I enjoyed it very much.

A must do lifetime experience.. Amazing natural beauty here on the Yellow River Cruise to get up really close to nature, including the Crocodiles, Birdlife and Fauna..We had a great guide onboard, Mr Glenn Miller who was super informative and had so many interesting facts to add to the day. An amazing experience that we did not want to finish..!

Sensational cruise, highlight of our visit to Kakadu. We did the dawn cruise, and can't recommend it enough. The activity along the Billabong was terrific, the water was so still creating fantastic reflections. A mist hung over the billabong at the start which looked surreal as a crocodile slowly passed the back of the vessel.

I had an incredible time on the yellow water boat cruise with Jess as our tour guide! Her enthusiasm, knowledge, and friendly demeanor truly made the experience unforgettable. She shared fascinating insights about the landmarks and ensured everyone felt engaged and entertained throughout the journey. Jess's passion for her job shines through, and I can't recommend her guided tours enough!

Yellow Water cruise is a must while in Kakadu. They offer different time slots and a variety of cruises the sunrise and sunset seem to be the most popular but the 9am suited us as it wasn’t too hot or crowded at that time of the morning. It was only a 5minute drive in the free shuttle bus from Cooinda Lodge where we were staying and tickets could be purchased there or online.
Jeremy was our captain and Guild today and was so welcoming fun and knowledgeable. His commentary throughout the 2 hrs cruise was entertaining and taught us so much about the wildlife and the history of the area. He would get up nice and close to anything of interest and give everyone a chance to take photos. He got us all involved as spotters and would explain about every bird fish plant or animal found. The boats were comfortable with seating that gave everyone a fabulous viewing point. It was a wonderful trip and great value. a must when visiting Kakadu Recommend booking online beforehand as it is very popular and you may miss out

Absolutely spectacular! A great way to see the beauty and wildlife of Kakadu. Highly recommended. We took the sunset cruise and our guide 'Gecko' was knowledgeable and amusing. He manipulated the boat to ensure everyone got an up-close-and-personal experience while providing insightful and informative commentary. This cruise offers exposure and photo opportunities to a variety of wildlife including plenty of crocodiles, a huge variety of bird life, water buffalo, wallabies, and horses. Simply magic! An absolute must for the birdos/twitches out there. Pack your binoculars and ID book.

Pickup and transfer from Cooinda Lodge bus stop makes life easy for both those staying in Cooinder or those visiting (plenty of parking). Returning between 6:30on and 7:00pm from the sunset cruise, makes for a convenient dinner in Cooinder.

Book tickets online. Best to get in advance to avoid disappointment.

Sunday PM.
4:30pm sunset cruise.
14 Aug 2022. Dry season.

Book the last tour of the day. Breathtaking views and one experience you can't miss. What a beautiful landscape! One of the top attractions in NT. I think it's worth to visit twice- 1x in dry season and 1x in rain season. The environment changes a lot and it must be spectacular to watch. We visited in Mid July and saw lots of crocodiles and so many different bird species. Wow!
