Absolutely incredible cultural centre. So many stories and information. Much more than I thought would be there. The gift shop is excellent too with options for all budgets - I found myself wishing I had a bigger budget for some of the original artworks, and a bigger house to hang them in. A must visit.

So much information all in one place.
A must visit to inform you about this area before you start exploring here.

Awesome souvenir shop catering for all budgets and many authentic items for sale , not the Chinese copy.
Loads of parking for cars , RVs and caravans.

This museum is like the ultimate go-to spot if you want to check out a ton of cool stuff about indigenous culture – their values, traditions, you name it. They've got loads of explanations and displays that you can dive into and learn from.

A lot of thought and careful presentation here. Quite a lot of reading, but well worth it, especially on a hot afternoon. Kids might get bored. Easily fills two hours.

Awesome air conditioned place.
Lot's of fascinating information about the local aboriginal community who have lived in this part of Kakadu for tens of thousands of years. The people who lived here truly have a unique culture that's incredibly different to any I've read about.

It's on your way out from Cooinda so just pop in and check it out. You can do the entire museum in less than an hour. The gift shop is also awesome if you wanted to buy anything.

Truly the best info/cultural centre I went to. I learned so so much about the local culture. Incredibly well designed and run. I saw it on my way out of Kakadu and wish I saw it first. It helped me make sense of bits and pieces of the culture I has picked up on in my travels and adventures. Can’t recommend enough. It’s a brilliant interactive summary of the local ppl and their cultures. If you come to these lands to bask in their glory you should also be learning about who’s land your on.

Amazing and touching stories about the history, old and new way of living and the dreaming of the Aboriginals in that area. Some things are interactive.

The exhibition was extremely well presented; we spent a good hour and half and read every caption and label. Having moved to the shop the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. When my wife purchased a bag with an aboriginal picture on it they called in the artist who was painting outside and took pictures of us with him.

To learn more about the indigenous culture, this centre has a lot or self-read texts and some artifacts. When lucky, you can see weaving or painting taking place.
There is a gift shop and toilet facilities.
Parking available free of charge.

This was amazing... the set up and lay out was so good... once you realised how the information boards worked I was so impressed... the local aboriginal language then the English language and then a brief reflection from a local inhabitant on the old ways... the displays are basic but like it is in real life...and you can see the the ingenious thought process in "making do'.... I would say this was 1 of the best and informative in a way I could understand displays I have seen .... and all for free... a must see if you are in the area...

This is a fascinating centre and must do. We didn’t take any pictures to respect the place as there were signs to not do so. We learnt so much about bush tucker, hunting methods and just the general culture of the traditional custodians. We were here for over an hour just exploring and reading, loved it! There is a shop at the end also.
