Your Tax Accountant needs to understand your business and you to be able to really help you. They can not fix all tax issues but EPAS were able to help me to zero my ATO debt and regain my sanity.

Terrible! It's important that everyone is fully aware of the potential mistake you will make by signing a contract with EPAS. They cleverly hide the bad reviews however the truth is there. They lodged incorrect superannuation lodgements using outdated forms and lodged without our permission. The cashflow report they gave was insufficient for its intended use. But the worst part was they delivered the bare minimum and then became uncontactable. Note that they are currently under external administration, so you have no recourse if they fail you. Your money is going to pay past debts.

Poor quality of work. They were quick to load up the fees and charges and when questioned about things I got threatened by Catherine via email. $20k in payments to them, no accountability and as so called professionals they don’t deal with errors at all. A real accountant fixed up what was done and all errors are documented and a formal complaint went in to several regulators. They offer up a welcome pack which includes a book about its director and that has since been used to start a log fire. Avoid at all cost. If and only if they fix and or refund fees for poor work this post may be amended. I wouldn’t go holding your breath. BE SURE TO GET QUOTES UP FRONT AND ASK FOR A COSTING BREAKDOWN.

Further to Catherines response - which she fails to put her name too - your were very quick to chase payments and yet chased me for a 5 star review back then from as it was put in the email "one of your best clients" I'm guessing that was a ranking based on revenue. So you tell me who's trying to save face here.
Stating we were behind in lodgements in not accurate at all. That tries to make her look "better". I can happily document that.
Oh and your emails with threats are all still on file too.
Our book keeping was not messy at all, in fact I have emails from your staff indicating otherwise.
As for being happy, I challenged you re your excessive fees and surprise - you were never able to take calls and I am still waiting on the costing breakdown which was also promised and not supplied.
The accountant who replaced you was very "surprised" at your work and said it was not correct which is when I began to challenge you. His words not mine and they are a far bigger firm than you are with a impeccable reputation. All you had to do was respond to concerns but you are according to you, "untouchable". Good luck with the challenges coming your way from other disgruntled clients. Theres a few of us now.
Since the EPAS nightmare we are doing very well thanks and none of it was your advise and we are saving a fortune in accounting fees. Im pretty sure the quote for the last annual return was north of $5k and I was not prepared to pay that as it was excessive. You have indicated you were happy with what you did so maybe you can explain why that charge existed if you had everything up to date? Annual returns are not that expensive. You contradicting yourself...... Thanks
My advise - grab to book and champagne and then go elsewhere. She obviously hands that out the celebrate her new found wealth.
Are you on the register for Public Tax Practitioners? Or did that go when EPAS was deregistered in 2022? Was it Endacott NSW Pty Ltd which is also now in financial difficulty?
And GST registration? Whats that status?
Is the business under External Administration? Are you in a DOCA at this time or has that now ended?

Group of heartless people leading by Catherine McMurtrie, taking advantage of in trouble small business owners when they are in trouble to destroy their lives. This is their process:
_Give big promises that they are going to save your business and get a big tax discount.
_Charge you $2500_$3000 for a simple 1-2 hours review of your tax.
_Coming up with excuses that they can't do anything for you and it is all your fault.
_Offer you a loan and earn interest from you.
_If you don't fall in their loan trap, they are happy with $3000 that they got.
Fortunately, now ATO is aware of them, and now any business that works with them gets audited.
Stay away!

Paid them money in advance. They did nothing! Numerous phone calls and emails produced nothing. Don't go here unless you want to burn a few thousand
