Schafflinger Alm

Schafinger Alm offers an culinary cure for an exhausting day of skiing. A little walk from the central, the restaurant will greet with you with a sign in front of the cottage. The interior keeps the old wooden design with a lot of local decoration from farming and sports.

Services is top-notched (one of the best I have experienced in DA) Greeted and served by the most attentive and kindest waitresses - make me feel welcomed and been taken care of.

With regards to food, the restaurant offers marvelous local dishes with extremely reasonable prices (considering in ski resort / Austria). Warm pork roast served with (light) gravy is a perfect choice for winter day. Personally, I enjoyed the gravy and pork roast combo - tasteful but light - does not feel heavy or fatty in stomach.

In summary, amazing restaurant that pushes service, food, experience to excellence - will definitely come back!

What a beautiful and typical Austrian diner. The atmosphere and ambience makes you enjoy even more the meal. The whole place is very characteristic and makes you feel at home with it’s beautifully arranged tables. The menu is written on a dashboard and it’s full of homemade and quality dishes: we ordered Spätzle, Frittatensuppe and pork with Knödeln, and the taste was really special and authentic. I would definitely recommend it if you want to enjoy both the food and the surrounding!!

Great place with great service. Delicious and home made food with love. Quality of food is really high, portions are enormous and staff is simply brilliant. You might have to wait a bit to be served here but it is worth waiting. Come here to enjoy beer and great vibe.

An awesome place! It was pretty busy all the evening, at the same time service was very attentive, friendly and helpful. The traditional alpine food we've got is top class - really tasteful and gorgeous portions. Simply a perfect feeling of the local atmosphere. Totally recommend!

We came at 5.30 and there were already quite a few people in. We were greeted by very friendly and welcoming owner. I did order fritattensuppe for my 4 year old, it's a sliced pancakes in beef broth, he is a very fussy eater, but he ate it all. My daughter loved schnitzel ( portion was huge), and I really enjoyed farmer's schnitzel, it was stuffed with bacon. Lovely music and very austrian feel to the restaurant. Would definitely recommend, must be the best one we tried so far! For sure will be back!

Excellent from the place, the service and the food. Went already 2 times in a row and will go again. The food is very good, varied and the plates are large.

Highly recommended - very thoughtful hosts, a pleasant ambiance and good food in the traditional vein.
They do however only take as many customers as they know they can properly serve, so be sure to book in advance.

Schnitzel was one of the best I've had (very big too) and the potato croquettes it comes with are also delicious.

We came for dinner and had really tasty food.
I would like to highlight very kind and helpful service. Definitelly recommended. In my opinion the best choice in Bad Gastein.
