Steckerlfisch in Abersee

Visited last November and really liked the grilled fish. Revisit again in early Feb for the saibling. The skin is perfectly smelt with nice hint of smoky charr. Meat of fish is fresh and fine, not rough and pinkish in colour under natural lighting. Sides can be added on i like the grilled corn as the sweetness of corn complements with the savoury flavour of the fish. Shop close earlier in winter at 7pm (9pm in summer). HIGHLY recommend if you are in the Wolfgangsee area- we drove 50mins from Traunsee for this! The ambience is not restaurant standard but the price performance ratio is perfect. The best grilled fish in this area.

It was little bit difficult to order because se don’t speak German, but the young gentleman who was working with owner helped us to order in English. Absolutely worth it, food was amazing delicious!

The mackerel was amazing. Don't get scared by the appearance (this isn't Micheline 3* restaurant) - go for the delicious food and enjoy eating in the nature. Places to sit also in bad weather. They accept cards.

So happy we found this place! Delicious fish (we tried mackerel and trout). There are some tables in the woods to sit and enjoy the meal and a drink.

We ordered trout fish which has been cooked very well and tasty. Different atmosphere and a good place for break.

Stop in for a fantastic grilled trout. So glad we passed this place and turned around to come back.

The best smoked and grilled fish I have eaten. The intense smoked fish flavor fits well with the sweetness of the grilled corn but if you add a potato salad for them, the sour taste of the salad refreshes it and turns your menu into a whole. I always visit this place when I am near Fuschlsee or Wolfgangsee.

Excellent food along the highway.
Kids like the grilled char (saiblinge) and fries. The adults enjoyed the warm soup (which was too peppery for our kids).

Really good grilled fish. The mix of spices that they use is tasty and the slow method they use for grilling makes a perfect result. This also means you have to wait for your order, but its worth it. Locals showing up is always a good sign and this is really a popular place where people stop by for a lunch break or on the way home . The two gentlemen are running a traditional business here, not disturbed by trends and fashion, simply good fish. OK you can get a burger as well but its not realistic that someone will order a burger after looking at the menu. :) Btw you can call them and order your food in advance to avoid waiting.

Best BBQ fish here! You will be rewarded a beautiful expience of enjoying a salmon burger in front of the stunning view of Wolfgangsee and mountain after pulling over and spending half an hour on a park table. Super friendly stuff!

Ordered Mackeral and Forelle, was reaaaaally good!

The fish and burger were delicious with a cold beer. The shaded tree eating area refreshing and nice !
