You have to pay 80.000 vnd to get into the national park and to do the hike to the top. For me that's quite a lot but I would do it again. The hike to the two peaks is not very long but can be quite challenging because you have to hike up quite a bit. The end gets a bit tricky. If you have some experience in hiking, especially up some mountains it shouldn't be any problem. It's possible to do it in one hour if you are fast. The view from the top is amazing and definitely worth the hustle. Will do it again when I'm there the next time.

A nice, short hike but it gets steep and almost like rock climbing during some short parts. It takes about an hour from entering to get tl the top. Spectacular views of the green areas around.
We bought ticket at the Trung Trang Cave and it's valid for this hiking route (and I think for another two things which we haven't done). It costs 80k per person.

Very beautiful nature.
We hiked up the stairs (the shortest way, about 1 hour) and it was steep but okay.
The view is amazing and we good lucky with good weather.
I do recommend going here, take a snack and some water to enjoy a break at the peak.

A nice hike, but be prepared to sweat a lot. It took me and my boyfriend 45 minutes to reach the top as it was very warm on the day that we visited and the stairs tire you out. The view on the top is worth the 80k per person.

A short but beautiful walk with a lot of climbing up. The path gets quite demanding during the last couple of hundred meters but the view is worth it

Absolutely beautiful! Visited at the end of April, due to it being the beginning of the hot season it was incredibly humid. We were absolutely covered in sweat due to the incline and humidity. We stopped at the first point which we thought was the view point but found out 10 minutes later it was not 😂 The big viewing platform is the first stop, then if you continue past it you will get to a rocky scramble to the actual view point. Both views are amazing so if you’ve had enough by then and don’t fancy the climb don’t fret! Make sure to bring plenty of water and stay hydrated.

Took approx 1.5 hrs to walk to the top. Fantastic view and well maintained path.

Be warned there’s a lot of stairs to climb so bring water!

We paid 80k VND each for entry and paid 10k VND for parking our scooter.

Worth the time and amazing views

I started with the shortest one of one-mile ( one-way ) Trek Ngu Lam, and it took less than 45 mins to get completed. The trek does get off easily, but as one progresses a furlong or so, it starts to become difficult. The whether when I went here was overcast, with continuous drizzle which remained throughout, which bought down the temperature by a bit.

The routes are easy to follow as only once there are two diversions in the whole trail, but there are sign boards after every 50-odd steps or so showing the arrows to reach the trail, ergo the chances of getting lost is next to none. It is perfectly possible to attempt it without a guide. Some of the trees have name plates, but these are mostly not in English.

As you get to the last 50-odd steps, the steps get hugh, with sharp rocks where one must be meticulous, although for majority part of the trail there is a railing for support.

Anyone going here, I highly recommend to wear full pants and t-shirt to reduce the intensity of bites in case insects do chase you. I faced a fly attack for over a min once during the trek, with the flies buzzing around the ears and coming at the eye range for nearly 50 steps or so, and someone else with me on the trek too faced the same. I didn't apply or carry any insect repellent cream but having one on a safe side is always good.

It's an amazing trek, and even for a beginner it shouldn't be an issue.

Amazing hike. About 1 hour up, a little less on the way down. Steep with a lot of stairs, and a little rock scramble at the end, but the views are 100% worth it. There are two different view points so when you hit the first one, it’s only a few minutes more to the end.

80k per adult for Trung Trang cave and here. Very beautiful view on the top. If you exercise regularly there will be no problem climbing up here.

Beautiful view over Cat Ba island. It's a steep hike but quite easy with signs everywhere.

The "tree house" on the top isn't actually the end though, it's a little further up and there's a rusty sign with the name of the peak on it.

This hike is part of the Cat Ba national park so you have to pay for parking and entry.
Entry fee is 80k per person which includes this hike, entry to Trung Trang cave, frog pond and Viet Hai.

We've been here in low season (March) and it was a pleasant experience. No crowds, so we could see the real jungle. The entrance fee is 80k VND and it's a hike along a maintained pathway. Near the peak it starts to be more rocky, so you have to climb a little. I recommend using some insect repellent, or you will come back with a couple of insect bites, like me. :)

Tbh we were scared from the previous comments that it would be very difficult, but we found it quite easy.

Of course, it was not a very hot day and we are two 25-year old.

The view on the top was amazing. Just after the peak there is a 5 minute walk to get to a second peak. Worth it!

Stunning beauty all around. Get there early and watch the sunrise. Well worth the lack of sleep. We had a guided tour throughout the village.

Very good national park. The hike to the tops take around 45 to 60 minutes and is durable. The view is amazing. You get acces to a cave 1 km away which is really good too.

1km hike. Safe climb with sufficient railings and a variety of steps and stones. Well marked and there is a nicely maintained descent path. Decent view from the top!

Did the trekking route all the way from Viet Hai village through the jungle, it took us around 3,5 not beginner friendly but highly enjoyable hours. We enjoyed the place almost by ourselves, almost no people here.
Reaching the national park gate there is a small restaurant and the climb to actual Ngu Lam peak is very short, roughly 1km to enjoy the breathtaking 360 views!
