Lan Homestay

This place is a great escape from the hustle and chaos that is Vietnam! The village is nestled in a little valley surrounded by spectacular Karst mountains with lots of great hiking trails . The homestay has lovely well maintained gardens with small bungalows that are clean and tidy and have everything you'd need. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and helped us book a boat tour of the bay and plan hiking excursions. Highly recommend if you're looking for a peaceful getaway in nature.

Guided by the remarkably gentle Thanh from Beka Travels, my night kayaking and jungle hike experiences were enchanting. Thanh's spontaneous creation of a captivating video and the tranquil oasis of Lan Homestay with its charming huts and delectable cuisine added remarkable touches. A truly delightful adventure enriched!

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The place is located in a beautiful valley on the island surrounded by scenic mountains. The staff was all incredibly friendly and helpful. Overall a perfect experience.

Beka Travel were very helpful and booked everything for us to arrive from our hotel at Hanoi and back. At Lan Homestay the staff were super lovely to chat to and would help whenever it was needed. The boat trip package was also so fun and great for learning about the area. If you are a restless traveller there are plenty of activities to do for a few days like hiking, cycling and swimming, but it’s also the perfect village to sit in for a month if you would like to slow down in a relaxed environment.

Wish I could have stayed longer! 10/10 would recommend.

We used Beka Travel to help us with all the accommodations, transfers and activities - cos at the end of the day, I prefer convenience during a holiday. So I was very thankful with how convenient it was to be helped by Jerry.

Tranh and Hai helped us throughout the entire trip, and we had Ryan as our guide. They were hospitable and very kind - Hai even rushed to the jetty on our departure because we left our water bottle behind.

The whole experience was magical - the surroundings of nature, the adventurous activities, the people and all the experiences. We don’t expect a luxurious holiday so it was simply perfect.

The only downside is that meals were shared with other guests - we don’t eat meat but meat is served on the table and all the dishes are shared with guests.

I highly recommend Lan Homestay and getting to know the people. Truly appreciate how well we were taken care off.

Tranh and Hai were very helpful from the beginning until the end of our stay. They knocked on our door just to let us know our meals are ready. They made sure we had everything. Best place in Viet Hai to stay.

My friend and I stayed here this evening and couldn't think of a better place to stay to appreciate the beautiful surroundings. The staff were great at giving us information from the minute we booked. From this we were able to do a long bit well worth it trek through the jungle to get here (I do recommend the boat option for anyone who can't deal with a 3-5 hour hike). The room we got was clean, spacious and had a great view of the area. The food was tasty and they catered for our dietary needs perfectly. Can't knock the service at all !!!

The staff is very friendly, helpful and attentive. The grounds (landscape) are incredible - fruit trees, koi pond, seating areas - it's like being in a well- kept forest with great amenities! Very serene. Join the communal meals and meet new friends! The rooms are also nice with your own porch and hammock to just relax! Hiking to the cave, pond and scenic peak are just down the road! A wonderful place all-around!

We stayed one night an Lân Homestay and thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanh was an exceptional guide and answered all of our questions on Vietnamese culture and local life. The hike we did was steep but the view made it worthwhile!!
They made every effort and ensured that the food was vegetarian for my friend.
We came for the view but will remember the friendly people and of course the Happy Water!

Lan Homestay was a wonderful experience. It is located in a magical region with beautiful places to explore. I went for a hike up the local mountain for incredible views, a swim in the harbor, and a day cruise in Lan Ha Bay (with kayaking & swimming). Chilly was responsive & helpful planning. The evening dinner was a delicious meal & a great way to meet the other guests. I highly recommend visiting.

The location of this homestay is very nice, at the beginning of the village. Every bungalows and rooms have a garden around with a quiet atmosphere. Rooms are spacious and very nice. The host is very kind. I recommend the dinner: abundant and very good.

The stay is admist CAD Ba national park and in a beautiful Village called Viet Hai, what makes it unique is the ferry ride which covers the gorgeous landscape of LAN HAN bay. Apart for the natural beauty, people of the village and the staff are extremely warm and welcoming, they cooked delicious Vietnamese food and arranged a sunset tour with night kayaking. Special thanks to my host Chilly, who went out of his way to help me with whatever I required, he is the reason why I made to this place comfortably & safely. All you need to do is get in touch with him for your queries.

Great service, Chilly and crew we're super helpful and coordinated any transport you need. The cost is tallied up when you check out. Food was fantastic every day, I wish I could make eggs that perfectly.

Absolutely amazing place to stay and the hosts are so nice! Our friends went hiking and got injured in the middle of the forest. The hosts supported us in every way to get them back home safely. Would totally recommend to anyone

My parents loved their 2-night stay here - so peaceful and serene, in a beautiful area with some hiking around. Chilly is super helpful with everything and goes above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your time in Cat Ba.

Our stay was lovely.
We booked two rooms and appreciated the good infrastructure, the food and the clean and beautifully arranged gardens. The staff was very forthcoming, especially Chilie. We can definitely recommend the homestay.
