Tam Coc little River Bungalolw

One of my favourite hostels in south east Asia. I extended my stay twice. The owners are so kind you have to do the family dinner, their happy water is so good! The dorms are so comfortable they have a big cosy duvet and curtains, perfect to rest after taking the night bus. Probably the best sleep I’ve had in a hostel. The pool area gets lots of sun in the day and the free breakfast is also really good. The owner is so accommodating she will do anything to help you. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great stay!

The owner is just perfect, nice friendly, funny,they organize family dinner every night and it can be a lot of fun these nights.

The room was clean and huge, but there was something wrong with their floor/tiles. It was sticky as if they rubbed it with beeswax, so it was really uncomfortable to walk barefoot. And of course, all dirt or sand from outside would stick on it because of that waxy thing.

And also there was a leakage on the floor starting from behind the fridge. But anyway, since we just stayed there for a night ONLY FOR SLEEPING and continued the trip early morning, we don’t mind. But if stayed for multiple nights, I would be pissed off.

We can use their bicycle for free to explore the paddy fields nearby and also the city centre which is very close, only need a 5-10 minute ride.

And not to forget, the host lady is friendly and funny. She’d drink her a** off every night with their self-made Happy Water, it’s made of fermented sticky rice with banana essence. Some people like it, but some of my tour friends told me it smelled like diesel hahaha.. Their breakfast was my favorite. Dinner was also nice, I chose the vegetarian option since I don’t eat meat if it’s not from Halal butchery.

Absolutely loved staying here. The owners are so friendly. I arrived at 4am the day of my scheduled check in and the owner greeted me at the earliest of hours and let me into my room. They even invited me to family lunch on my last day whilst I was waiting for my buys. They are incredibly helpful when it comes to organising activities and gave goos recommendations for food. I rented a bike from them and rode it around the city. The rooms are clean. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Ninh Binh!

I spent 2 nights here, it is a chilled homestay offering a wide array of services such as advice on local areas, transport links, moped/bicycle hiring and other amenities. The staff were amazing. It is also only a 15 minute walk / 5 minute cycle to the lake.

Best place to stay if you're visiting Ninh Binh,
Banana hostel has nothing on this place.
The people running it are genuinely so amazing, if you need anything at all they're there to help.
Theres a wide spread of rooms, a games room, a pool as well as food & drink you can order.
Breakfast is free too so look forward to that.

Very nice people, I definitely recommend this place. We called at 4AM without a booking and they accepted us. Also they helped us with attractions recommendations, taxi and bus booking. This place was recommended by our friends and we will not hesitate to recommend it now.

Rooms are great and the owners are lovely. We were able to rent motorbikes directly from the homestay. They also offer an amazing tasting menu which you can have in the homestay with other guests. Owners extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in at 4am. All around an amazing place to stay.

Really loved staying here and would definitely be back The hosts are lovely and super friendly and helpful. The dinner was great and a chance to meet other travellers.

Great hostel with super friendly owners who go above and beyond to help you with all your needs. Availability to do laundry and local trips. Very close to the local city centre but still quit at night. The pool is a welcome way to cool down a bit.
Almost every night there is a family dinner at 7pm made by the hosts. Overall great experience staying here.

The best hostel I’ve stayed at ever! Our room was so clean and pleasant, the breakfast was delicious and the owner was so helpful and accommodating. Such a kind person with the cutest family. We loved our stay and even though it’s not the closest to the city center, we would definitely recommend and stay there again!

Clean and spacious beds, enough space to store and lock belongings. Hot showers with great water pressure. The owner is very friendly and will recommend multiple activities around town. The breakfast was simple but incredible. Would stay again!

The staff here are so friendly and accommodating! We arrived early hours of the morning and they moved us to the CoziNibi hotel next door! The breakfast was okay not great though. You can rent bikes and they help book onward travel

One of the nicest hostels I've ever been to. Even the bathrooms in the dorms were a level above the rest.

We had such an amazing stay ! No words to describe the kindness and availability of the staff. I definitely recommend the family diner, we felt at home.

Great advices on the local activities combined with very good prices of bike rental filled our stop in Tam coc of beautiful landscapes and memories.

Amazing experience - you feel like part of the family! Dinners and breakfasts are delicious, plentiful and you sit with other guests and the hosts at a big table. The hosts Tuan and Thom are quick to help you with scooter rental (the bicycles at the homestay are even free), give you directions for the best sights and routes and even set up your phone for a Vietnamese SIM card ;-)
Rooms are basic, but more than adequate, the air condition works quietly and efficiently. Definitive recommendation when you consider the price!

I arrived completely without any plan at 4:30am from Phong Nha to Tam Coc. I was calling this hostel at 4:30am and they let me check-in at that time without additional charge. I could catch an additional 3h of sleep after the night bus.
The motorcycle rent was super quick and easy.
The breakfast was included and alright.
I had dinner there and the food was really good.
I can definitely recommend this hostel!

An amazing hosting Family! Great food, good prices and an amazing pool!!! I recommend you this place for sure.

My partner and I stayed at the Little River Bungalow for two nights at the beginning of May 2022. Tun and Thom immediately made us feel welcome and at home, their hosting went above and beyond which included cooking us a traditional Vietnamese meal and giving us home made rice wine, booking taxis, advising us on the local attractions with the help of a paper map which we used for navigation, and providing us with a scooter/bicycle when we needed them.

Tun and Thom spent one evening chatting with us and exchanging stories, this was a very enjoyable evening. The location of the home stay is ideal as it is very close to the centre of Tam Coc and it is easy to get around on a bicycle. The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable - exactly what we required for our short stay. Thanks again Tun and Thom.
