The roasted duck was so delicious. The portion being too huge even for a big eater like me. The pork rolls and pork belly were pretty good too. Went there multiple times. Excellent service and we also go 2 complimentary bananas which was a first for me and I highly appreciate the kindness.

We have been there for two nights. The first night we tried the duck and the second the fish. Both were amazing!! So good. 100% recommended. The workers are also super friendly.

Absolutely fantastic local food. They are roasting the duck and goat out front. Local mountain goat was amazing and the stir fry mountain snails were delicious. Some of the best food I’ve had in Vietnam

After reading the recent reviews I was hesitating between duck and goat. I chose the grilled duck and it was gorgeous, juicy, tender and comes with a sauce to dip.
Next day I went for the goat. Nothing special, a bit dry (it’s goat anyway). After 2 days came back around 10pm and the grilled duck was even better than the first time. A rice bowl comes with each meal.

Cheap, atmospheric, family run restaurant in Tam Coc. At first we questioned the place because of the name, however the reputation did not disappoint.

Good quality food, pleasant staff at a highly affordable price.

The duck appears to be the speciality, it is very tasty but quite fiddly because of bones (tough with chopsticks).

Fried rice, summer rolls, and papaya salad were the highlights for us. The Na Da beer is local (and not 0%, so don’t be put off) and tasty. The dry-fries noodles weren’t that dry and had a slight tomatoey flavour which wasn’t expected - not similar to dry pho that’s I have had elsewhere.

We walked past this restaurant a number of times before settling in for dinner. It’s no surprise that the sight and aroma of the whole ducks spinning on rotisseries over charcoal drew us in.

We ordered a half duck, papaya salad, vegetable fried rice and two coca cola (and of course a large order of steamed white rice accompanied the duck).

The food came quickly, and everything was delicious. While we expected the duck to ve good, we were pleasantly surprised at both the quality and the quantity. The half-duck was huge, and the meat was juicy and delicious throughout. The crispy skin was particularly yummy!

We were also very impressed with the papaya salad. This wasn’t an afterthought for the kitchen; it was very, very tasty!

Total cost for the meal: VND295,000 (CDN $16.50)

We ate here three times during our 3-night stay in Tam Coc. The roasted duck is freshly cooked outside the restaurant every evening starting at 6pm and the smells drew us inside. This is easily the best duck we’ve had in Vietnam. 155k VND for half a fresh roasted duck with crispy skin is a fraction of what it would cost back home.

The order comes with half a duck and a bowl of rice, which is plenty of meat for 2-4 people, especially alongside other dishes. Their in-house sweet soya sauce for dipping is also great. Both nights, we paired the duck with the papaya salad which is light and flavourful. We also came around lunch one day for a snack of fried spring rolls and morning glory (spinach) vegetables.

Despite being a large restaurant, this is a very welcoming family-run operation. The servers are friendly and service is quick in the evenings even when they get busier. Would highly recommend coming in to try the roasted duck when it’s fresh!

Me and my family (4) ate a-lot of food and still the bill was less than 800,000 vnd which very affordable and staff was very friendly and helpful.
To highlight you definitely need to try the roasted duck which is delicious.
I would love to visit this restaurant another day when I come to ninh binh.

I eaten the warmest lunch, staff is very friendly, excellent food although rice quite dry. When I need something information about Tam Coc, they was held for me very enthusiasm!

It’s one of the best restaurants in Tam Coc. The prices are reasonable! They don’t charge a lot even though it’s very touristy area. The staff are super cool.
It was one of the best chicken soups and I’m an expert with it :) and as bonus they give bananas to visitors. Very cool. Cam on niyau!

The food tastes very good. The staff are all helpful and friendly. We will definitely come again.

The reviews are earned. The roast duck is enough for 2. At 155K it's a good deal. Next day had stir fry chicken with ginger. Excellent. Not heavy on soy or fish sauce. Good prices and good portions. Even when busy the staff are fast and attentive.

This came recommended by our hotel clerk. Did not disappoint. I wish we could have eaten more. We got the stir fried duck and the pork spring rolls. I would suggest going for the roasted duck right off the spit. They got goat too, a local dish. Fast service. Great local Na Da beer as well.

Went there for dine in after reading the reviews and it was worth every dollar. Food, service and atmosphere were great and price was very competitive. Would recommend not to miss this one if you are in tam coc.

Wonderful restaurant in a relatively rural area of Vietnam. Very friendly, English speaking, staff. Fantastic fried spring roles, and crispy duck.

When you come to Ninh Binh, the must try local delicacies are the duck meat and the goat meat. Guess what? Family Restaurant provides them with the best quality.

Their grilled goat is a MUST try. I repeat, unless you're a goat, the grilled goat is a must try.

The owner was very sweet to lend us a bamboo hat when she knew we were going to a boat tour.

The meal also came with free pineapples too.

However, the papaya salad was lacking in flavour and can be skipped unless you are craving it.

I ordered the beef pho and it was okay. The owner noticed I didn’t eat it all and was concerned I didn’t like it. She offered me other food and comped my meal. Very kind owner and family.

Freshly roasted juicy fat duck we ever had . Goat is must try in Tam coc too . Price is very reasonable . Simple yet delicious home like cooking . Highly recommended.

We randomly stopped after smelling the smoke from the street, and we were not disappointed. The roasted duck is delicious! I was surprised by the big portion, but at the end, it was so good that I could easily eat everything. It is absolutely worth the announced waiting time, which turned out to be very fast (15 min).

We loved this restaurant, went here every day, the food is great, we especially liked the duck and snails with lemongrass. The staff here got it going on! They are very organized and effective, orders come fast and they haven’t missed a single thing. Super friendly too. Would definitely come back again and again.
