Bong Sung Vegetarian Restaurant

Great vegetarian place with a huge variety of meals. We can recommend it!

We were three persons (two ladies, one gent) and ordered four different, very tasty dishes. Turned out to be one dish too much, so take that into account when ordering - that menu looks great.

Friendly staff, good quality food, a bit pricey but definitely worth the price tag!
Bathroom also in good condition.
We will go there again if we are in the area.

We came here for dinner and it was quite busy but we only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. I was so impressed with the incredible variety! We ordered the seitan with lemongrass, abalone mushroom cooked in coconut milk, fried sticky rice and iced tea. The teas came in big jugs and were very tasty.

Looking back it would have been better to order a lighter dish or one with more veggies, because the seitan plus fried sticky rice ended up being really heavy. The seitan was alright with some nice flavouring but I wouldn't order it again. The fried sticky rice was super dense and it was difficult to finish. The abalone mushroom was really delicious. They were a lovely texture and flavour.

There were so many delicious things on this menu I would love to come back and try more things!

Entrance of the restaurant is hard to find but the restaurant is definitely well known as it is always packed during lunch hours.
A more local Vietnamese / Chinese style of dishes and cooking which suit me well. Good Variety of choices not found in other veg restaurant.

Really nice experience. We walked in on a rainy afternoon and took the table outside in balcony. The first positive impression is the colonial architecture of the restaurant. It’s beautiful. Service was a little bit relaxed, but for a place like this maybe that wasn’t such a bad thing :) we ordered silky tofu, crispy noodles and mushroom curry. Plus lemonades and Vietnamese coffee in the end. Prices are quite ok. The food was good. Could be seasoned better but quality of ingredients was exceptional and tasted fresh. The drinks were amazing - I reckon better than most standalone cafes I have been to in Vietnam in 2 weeks! Overall, really loved this place and wish had more days in HCMC to go back again.

Every dish is between 50-90 dong, so not super cheap, but the quality of the food is great.

Between 2 people we had 2 main dishes and an appetizer and that was more than enough. The main dishes are well served

Very affordable for such a great location in district 1. You still have to get through a small alley to be able to get into the restaurant. A hotpot cost you 10$ but it’s maybe for 4 people. Very good food especially the chili salt tofu. Definitely recommended!

A great place to dine in or take away. The ambience is great not only for groups but individuals also. Come and enjoy the fresh and tasty vegetarian dishes. It's worth visiting.

Very good address of a vegetarian restaurant (the one in D1 & D3).
The products are of good quality & the prices are very affordable: a main course between 55k and 150k.
The decoration is very modern and cosy. It feels right at home there. The space is quiet and the tables are spaced apart, which allows us to enjoy completely our meal.
The waiters are profesionnal and friendly.
The menu is both in Vietnamese and English.

Moreover, Bong Sung is an eco-restaurant that respects the environment. All juices and drinks are served with a grass straws!

I definitely love this place!

Visited this place twice as it was good enough for us to make another visit. Loved the pho, finished the soup on both visit haha!

Situated near the notre dame and post office puts it in a very central location for tourists. the good thing is they do not close after lunch hour, so vegetarian and vegan tourists can look to fill their tummies at any hour of the day. Lovely ambience too :)

We also tried the vegan pate with baguette. Very interesting dish! And the jackfruit steamed with coconut was actually very tasty.

Do try the Viet coffee, it is up there with the best coffee in Saigon IMO :)

Bong Sung Vegetarian Restaurant is the good place for person who love to taste vegetarian meal with friends or family. In here, Bong Sung has a lot of vegetarian foods which are really delicious and suitable for all kind of taste. The restaurant has large space, with outside view, nice friendly staff and reasonable price. Hope to comeback here soon!

The food was amazing. Service was perfect.
A large selection with pictures for every dish, but not cheap (80-90 vnd average per meal), but affordable even for budget travellers (we had 3 dishes and plenty of ice tea for 250,000). Well decorated.

Really enjoyed this place - you enter through an alley of shops then it's like a tranquil oasis as you head upstairs. Huge menu, the locals mostly seemed to be eating hot pots. Staff spoke pretty good English and were really nice. Food was good! A bit oily maybe but apart from that really good. And pretty cheap.

I have been here many time. The food is yummy and real Vietnamese taste. And the service is good also. Price is almost similar like any vegan restaurant in Ho Chi Minh city.

Great variety of food, good service, tourist-friendly, reasonably price, nice environment. The dishes are mainly Vietnamese, some Thai or Chinese style. Some Vietnamese dishes are rarely found in Saigon. I tried Mì Quảng, noodles from Central Vietnam. BONUS for the natural straw💚 PLASTIC FREE. Sitting outdoor in the balcony, with fresh coconut and great food, perfect! Will definitely revisit the place!!

This is a beautiful slightly hidden place where you have to look up to see the sign and then walk through an alleyway to find the stairs leading up to the restaurant. I have been here twice and both times the portion sizes were very generous and delicious. It is more expensive then other authentic Vietnamese places but if you’re wanting some quick and easy vegetarian food it’s well worth it. I have tried two versions of the vegetable stir fry which came with plenty of vegetables and some tofu, both costing 90K ish plus there was a small surcharge. It would be good if they gave complimentary water however.

Nice and yummy. There are many kinds of taste dishes for vegetarian. The price is acceptable. Service team is kindly and smiling. Even you are not a vegetarian you will also love the foods here. Let's visit and try delicious food at this restaurant.

Delicious vegetarian food in a relaxed environment!
I stumbled upon this gem as I walking from the post office seeking aircon. Its down a little alley, you walk upstairs into a tranquil restaurant. There's a little outside balcony with plants. I ordered the mixed brown rice, which was delicious. Maybe a bit more expensive than other vegetarian, but the lack of oil and good service make it worth it. I'm definitely coming back!

The vegetarian restaurant is quite small but has great location and nice decor. The food is delicious too.

We just found it wandering around the Post Office. Already a favourite in my account. Great service, huge variety and a true delight for vegans/vegetarians. Slightly more expensive that one might be accustomed to in Vietnam though definitely worth it. Probably the cleanest toilets I have seen in our whole trip too. Their homemade sodas are superb and the curry, albeit not spicy, had the perfect mix of spices and flavour. Also served with bread, for all those afraid of rice. We also had some seitan as seen in the picture, we also think it’s terrific.
