Ninh Binh Greenland(Green House) Homestay & Restaurant

Beautiful homestay in a lovely small village outside Ninh Binh. The service was perfect, and the hosts went the extra mile and a half to ensure we had a great stay. The free breakfast is delicious and the communal evening meals were especially nice in bringing together diverse people from around the world. Great swimming pool, free bicycles and inexpensive scooter rental ($6/day). Alex's free phone app is a must for navigating to the many attractions near their village. We will definitely be coming back!

We spent 5 nights here and fell in love with the area. Alex and his family are wonderful hosts. The homestay is beautiful and clean. The family style dinners are amazing and a great way to meet the other guests. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. We give this homestay two big thumbs up.

We had a great time at Alex's homestay. Located right in the middle of everything, delicious and diverse breakfast, very tasty dinner; easy to rent motorbikes, bicycles included free of charge and excellent recommendations by the owners.

Beautiful location, you can take walks in a scenic area and find restaurants within a few min walk. Very friendly and helpful hosts. The rooms are huge and very beautiful!

Best stay I've had in 2 months across Vietnam. Alex and his family were lovely, generous, and extremely helpful in everything from directions and recommendations and free bicycles to accommodating a friend of ours for the family-style dinner (which I might add was extremely delicious) and a late checkout. The rooms were lovely and new, well insulated from the extraordinary heat, and the pool was always clean. The motorbike we rented worked like a charm and was offered at a great rate as well!

We had a great visit at the Greenland Homestay. Rented mopeds and explored the nearby nature conservation area. Nice walk from the hotel.

We did a long stay here (almost 2 weeks!) and had a great time. We are remote working and the internet was reliable + space was comfortable and calm enough to be productive. I think 2 weeks is probably too much time for Ninh Binh-a week is probably perfect-but Alex, his wife, and the on-site restaurant chef made the stay totally worthwhile. They were all so friendly and great. Alex rented us a scooter for a good price, and gave great recommendations for sight seeing.

The rooms are exactly as advertised. Very clean with 8/10 comfy beds and soft sheets. The AC works well enough, and the water gets very hot. Our only complaint was that the shower hot water runs out after 7-8 minutes.

Food was great. 8.5/10 breakfasts with lots of options, and 9.5/10 “family” dinners. Highly recommend doing a dinner here, the chef will cook many dishes for you to try, and you share with other guests at the hotel.

All in all a great deal. Beautiful views, friendly hosts, comfortable rooms, and yummy food. Probably one of the best (if not the best) home stays in Ninh Binh :)

I travelled for 2 months around Vietnam and this is the best place I have been in. Quiet and relaxing. The owners are really nice and helpful. Breakfast is great and the family dinners are that, family. I had access to a free bike and you have some attractions 15-20 mins from the place and the rides are just beautiful.
If I ever come to Ninh Binh I will definitely stay with them again.

Let's start with how sweet the owners are, they want to arrange really everything for you and help you with everything. The family dinner is highly recommended because you also get to talk to other backpackers and share experiences. The breakfast is fine, not what we are used to back in the Netherlands, but what do you want. For a small amount you rent a scooter for the entire day and the bicycles can be borrowed for free.

Our ‘Family Room’ was large, clean, and had good air conditioning. The bathroom was a little old, but everything worked properly. Alex and his family are very friendly and helpful hosts. Breakfast was included for our stay, and it was always delicious, prepared by Alex’s mom. One night, they offered a family dinner with lots of food, and it was nice to chat with other guests. The pool was clean - great after a hot day. WiFi didn’t always work in our room, but I would definitely recommend staying here!

Perfect homestay, spacious rooms, dining room (for breakfast) with terrace and view of the rocks. The swimming pool is the little extra very appreciable. The location is close to the sites to visit in Ninh Bình. I will definitely come back.

Greenland Homestay was amazing and exceeded all our expectations. The staff is so lovely! They made everything possible, helped us with all the bus booking and we were able to have a shower even after check out.
The food is so yum and we really enjoyed the family dinner, where you’re able to talk to other travelers.

We stayed here during our entire time in Ninh Binh, Vietnam. We had a great experience here. Our host Alex is a very smart and helpful person, and he helped us with everything that we could ask for. He and his family were very welcoming hosts! His homestay is located away from the city hustle bustle and is close to most places of interest in Ninh Binh. Their in-house restaurant is great, and their amazing chef graciously catered to our dietary needs. I would absolutely 100% recommend staying here no matter what your travel plans are.

The owner was adorable. She prepared us a breakfast very early in the morning at the last minute since we had to go back in an emergency to Hanoi. The place is really nice in the middle of nature and it is cosy. The pictures reflects the reality and it’s clean.

The Green Homestay is amazing place tucked away from the rampant tourism in Tam Coc. The staff and owner are extremely friendly and accommodating. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. The owner offers a home cooked family meal each evening for 125,000 vnd, in which all guests are invited to join. The location is also perfect. The homestay is located between the Trang An Grotto tour and the Hang Mua Viewpoint. The hotel rents out motorbikes and regular bikes are free to rent.

A wonderful oasis close to the main attracions in the area and you can get a free bike! Alex and his family welcomed me wonderfully, everything was perfect!

Alex and his family were beyond amazing and I would recommend them to anyone.
Their home is lovely and clean, their food at the nightly family dinners are delicious and change nightly for variety. They are a bit outside of the main town, but are very close to popular spots (Trang An boat tour, Mua viewpoint, etc).

Alex helped us out from start to finish - organising our bus to and from Ninh Binh, giving us great local info, and graciously extendending our stay last minute when one of us fell ill. Our short stay was very enjoyable thanks to Greenland and we hope to return soon!

Quite literally the best hostel/family-run hotel I've ever been to.

Alex and his wife are somehow both very organised and easygoing. Their entire place is clean, well-organised and well-maintained. Their restaurant serves delicious food and they foster a community atmosphere by hosting family dinners' for those who are interested.

Alex went above and beyond for us when we stayed with him: helping us book train tickets when their website wouldn't accept foreign cards and giving us detailed information about things to see and do in the area.

Whether you're a backpacker, a family or a retiree, I'd recommend you stay here when visiting Ninh Binh/Tam Coc.
