This experience was INCREDIBLE! We had the tasting menu and every dish was better than the last. I cannot recommend the Phojito enough, do yourself a favor and order one!
The experience overall was truly incredible. The flavors are inspired by traditional Vietnamese foods with a modern twist. We were given detailed menus with information from the Chef stating why he chose certain flavors and ingredients. The staff also explained each individual dish in detail upon serving it to us. If you love a good experience and food journey, this is definitely a place for you! I could not be more pleased with the service we experienced!! Truly awesome!!!
The restaurant requires recommendations but everything you need to know is easy to find with a quick google search. CC is accepted. The tasting menu is plenty of food and we left with full bellies. They do confirm allergies with you before serving to make sure everyone can get enjoy.

We chose the Chef Peter’s tasting menu. I highly recommend it. Very unique presentation and twist on the traditional Vietnamese dishes. We had been eating street food for the last two weeks during our trip so this was a nice change of pace. We had informed them that it was my husband’s birthday and they surprised us with a dessert and candle. It was so sweet!

Location is so so, service is a little rushed but very well meant. Food is really outstanding.

During our meal there was a small incident. Upon receiving feedback, the staff reacted very professionally, apologized sincerely many times and resolved the situation to our very high satisfaction.

The Michelin star is deserved, both on the inspirational food and the potential to make fine Vietnamese cuisine become better known in the world.

The food was amazing. The staff helped me decide what to order. All the dishes I had were carefully put together and the flavors don’t disappoint. I was able to walk in and get a seat… I recommend you call and reserve a table in advance. Definitely worth trying while in Saigon.

Our dinner at Anan was such a wonderful experience. Not only were the ingredients really fresh, the dishes were all flavourful and were a unique modernisation of local cuisine. As fans of Vietnamese food, we really enjoyed seeing the local cuisine being crafted into modern and fun dishes. Definitely worthy of the Michelin star!

Food and presentation was amazing! We did the chef tasting menu. The spring roll and salmon waffle cake were the highlights. We loved the cocktails. The tamarind cocktail was the best. The pho one was good but cinnamon-y.

The service could be improved for a Michelin star. For example, my partner wasn’t in his seat and they brought the food to the table, multiple times. Also, we sat with people ordering a la carte. At other Michelin star restaurants, they usually separate those getting tasting menu and those that don’t.

FYI - You walk through a wet street market to get to the restaurant. This is part of the chef’s story. see photo for more detail.

Amazing experience and atmosphere at Anan, experiencing the chef's pick of 12 dishes in addition to some delicious cocktails. Had the pleasure of dining on a private balcony at the top of the restaurant to add to the experience by taking in all of Saigon's sights and sounds.

Had the chef's tasting menu last night and originally thought I'd be there for an hour and a half, maybe two hours. Dinner ended up being five hours with lively company from the United States, Singapore, Australia, and Bangkok.

The food was stellar with excellent service from Thiện and I must've drank half the bar menu served with fantastic service and flair from Finn with assistance from Huy.

I highly recommend this place for the food, drinks, and experience. Top notch.

This place was great! Food was really really good and the service is great!

Went for the Chef Peter’s tasting menu and every dish wash well prepared, fun, creative and delicious. The staff is amazing, and the guides describing each dish is very helpful and enjoyable! Would 100% revisit.

Read a lot of really stupid reviews ahead of visiting about people complaining on the staffs clothes, them not wearing masks, comparing it to French restaurants, etcetera, which are just ridiculous. This place does not ambition to be a white table cloth, silver cutlery fartsy place, but rather a combination of great food and great vibes, which they successfully do.

Some of the people who gave this place bad reviews should get over themselves. If you can get a reservation here, definitely go. The chef's tasting menu was heavenly and reasonably priced considering the Michelin rating. You can read about the restaurant, chef, and dishes in the photos I posted.

Great food, great service, awesome location.

The food of the restaurant generally has exotic tastes inpired from Vietnamese food that I have never experienced and is worth trying once. However, telling the food is delicious does depend on the tastes buds of each customers and I also hope for more appealing dishes from the chef in the upcoming experiences.

Hard to put into words, this is a once and a lifetime experience. A Michelin star restaurant for a reason. This is a culinary journey in a relaxed, casual and friendly atmosphere. Do yourself a favour and book a night here.

Being one of only four restaurants in Vietnam that received the first ever Michelin star rating in 2023, this place certainly is drawing attention and it shows in the reservation procedures. But my goodness, it's worth the effort and wait.

Just to get to the restaurant one has to navigate through a local traditional market until the building appears like an apparition, and you will feel right at home after entering the welcoming surroundings and encounter the friendly servers.

As a party of five, we decided not to order the tasting menu, but to order from the menu of Vietnamese dishes, and just enjoy what reached the table, and truly everything was scrumptious and gorgeous and delicious and fun to eat.

The Garlic Butter Shrimp were awesome with deeply fragrant morsels of shrimp and veggies and dried shrimp and garlic that woke up your senses and inspired happiness.

My Tuna and Salmon Roe Taco was a burst of juicy goodness and was followed by Seafood Rolls dipped in Fish Sauce dressing which made me appreciate to be alive.

The Duck Salad was refreshing and fabulously herbal and the Bone Marrow was, as it always is, a gift from the gods when spread on crispy baguette.

The Wagyu Beef Banh Mi we shared brought back a collection of memories from various places where I was blessed to enjoy a Banh Mi, from Oakland, CA, to Hoi An, to SF, to Hanoi, and back to HCMC, and in particular Anan Saigon, where I probably ate the best one ever.

We continued with a succulent Grilled Pork Chop and a wonderfully fluffy Crab Fried Rice, and finished our perfect meal with the last sip of the California Zinfandel that accompanied us.

Thanks to the exquisitely gifted Chef, his talented kitchen team, and the friendly and efficient service staff for a fantastic experience, and many more meals to look forward to. 👏🫰👏

We came on a Sunday night and were able to be seated at the rooftop bar area without a reservation. The cocktails and food were creative and delicious. Would strongly recommend the tacos (we ordered one of each) and the phojito. The only miss for us was the petite banh mi - neither my husband (banh mi lover) or me (sandwich skeptic) enjoyed it, although the presentation was adorable

Anan has been one of my goto’s for many many years. Innovative and delicious food. If you can get a seat on the second level in the green tiled room, near the bartender, you will be guaranteed to have a fantastic experience. For those of you who are brave, try this series of coconut grub worm cocktails. For the less adventurous try one of the other cocktails they are all pretty fantastic as is the bartender Finn!

Do not expect classic Vietnamese food, Anan is definitely pushing the envelope.

And keep in mind this is a pretty casual place in terms of atmosphere so don’t need to get dressed up.

After dinner, make sure to grab a drink on their Awesome rooftop with cool views of the city and a great vibe.

My favorites have always been Anan’s tacos pizza, broccolini, crab, fried rice and the huge whole Mekong fish.

Another note, there is more of a focus of what’s on the plate than anything else here, so although they may have a star, this can be very different things in different locations around the world.

Do not expect white, gloved, formal service instead expect the focus to be the food & great cocktails.

You can spend a fortune here if you want but it does not have to be a very expensive experience to really enjoy the essence of Anan.

I very nearly cancelled my reservation here after reading some of the recent reviews, but I’m very happy I didn’t. I got the Saigon tasting menu - the meal was excellent and at an extremely reasonable price point, and the service was great too. Each dish was presented nicely and was very flavourful. Surprisingly, the beef tenderloin was one of the best I’ve ever had. My only complaint is the bathrooms felt slightly dirty. Would definitely come again - have no idea what the other reviewers are talking about.

My favourite dining experience in HCM. Super discrete location the middle of a street market. The food was extremely creative, using high end culinary techniques and complementary flavour profiles to produce and create some memorable experiences for you. Staff were extremely attentive and recommended suggestions with drinks and even suggesting that we don't order certain drinks at certain points in the gastronomic journey. Definitely a highlight of my trip! Would go back again!

What a wonderful place! The food was magical...the Fish Sauce Ice Cream with Nuoc Cham perfume is a must order. They sat me at the bar with other people dining alone and now I have 5 new friends! The atmosphere was very causal and encouraged chatting and laughter. The bartender, Finn, was an absolute standout on the service team! Amazing concoctions and joined in the fun and conversation with us! I wish I had somewhere like this at home.

Finally ticked this one off the list. The restaurant is tucked away, hidden in between a wet market. Wouldn't even know the restaurant was there, if you weren't looking for it. We ordered the bone marrow pho, Vietnamese pizza and few other dishes to share. The atmosphere was really good and service was excellent. Nothing to fault, recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for something different and fancy when in Saigon.

Amazing food and experience. The bad reviews are from people who never travel and don’t like surprises. For the chef’s menu you get an incredible experience for the price. What I noticed was rude customers who berated our waitress for no reason. Don’t listen to the bad stuff.
