Bâng Khuâng Café

Cozy place tucked in a colonial building. Stayed here for over 3hrs finishing work while on vacation. Wifi is stable and food and drinks are affordable!

Great little hidden gem in the heart of HCM! The cafe is on 2nd floor, and it has such a cute relaxed feel to it. Coffee and food were reasonable priced, and you can easily spent a couple of hours here just reading / doing work on your laptop.

It's lunchtime and here I am seated having lunch. Of the 13 tables, only 2 are occupied by non-Vietnamese. Great experience and good local food - as close a kin to local homecook meals as you can get.

Seems to be a very popular lunch place whereby local office workers come for a relaxed meals. Don't read Vietnamese? No worries, they have English translations in the menu.

Not as easy to find as expected. It's actually located at the top most floor, not visible from the streets. You will pass another restaurant on the way up (looks interesting too - but that's a story for another day).

Good lunch + coffee with book kinda place.
On down side is the air-conditioning is not fully cold .. more cool than cold. Small quibbles really.

So amazed when I got in, I thought it was a house. The café is so homy, literally like a home, with your grandma cooking for you. I had a business meeting here around after lunch, and we almost had the whole place for ourselves. Excellent food and coffee of course.

The coffee here was so great that we downed it instantly (hence the almost empty cup!). Highly recommend the crab vermicelli

Friendly staff, and great ambiance. Don't be fooled by the appearance and location outside, it's really nice inside.

Also they just as level 2, but in Vietnam it's actually the 3rd floor. Ground floor is different from 1st floor.

Vintage hidden cafe with great food. I was recommended to try Bun Rieu at this cafe. I usually avoid ordering food at cafes because I don’t expect any cafes to have good food. However, the food here were actually great. Even as a cafe, this is very nice quiet space with nice air. There was a plenty of tables and chairs available at my visit around 7pm on a Sunday. The chairs and tables are workable and the entire space has a nice vintage vibe.

Find your old quiet soul here. People live slowly and enjoy life one sip at a time here. Really enjoy seeing others playing guitar and singing ballad at conversation level (not loud).

Tranquil, calm and quiet place to sit down. The staff is friendly and polite. They offer probably the best coffee in town, the coffee ground is shipped directly from Buôn Ma Thuột, the filtering method is kept to be original and unique. They are a smaller branch of the Bâng khuâng Cafe since 1962 in Buôn Ma Thuột.

I love the space and vibe off this cafe. Definitely will come back more

Had a lovely lunch here on a week day. This quaint and nostalgic spot is a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy a home cooked meal. It is simple, understated and warms you up greatly. Not for fussy or fancy people. I enjoyed the Vietnamese coffee and spent some time here reading. The staff are polite and friendly and definitely get the Vietnamese iced milk coffee, someone said it was the best in the city and I agree. It’s not overly sweet at all and still retains the depth and unique bitterness of the coffee itself, it’s been so hard to find this complex flavour in HCMC that’s saturated with mainstream coffee - I’d come again 🥰

Unsure why several people mentioned no AC, they have it but the fans work fine.

Please up to highest floor, not the cafe on the 1st floor. Then try “bun rieu CHAY” and “cafe sua da”. You would fall in love with this city ❤

You kidding? The mood, the peace, the food - oh and how about the coffee? It’s a humbling little abode that takes you back to “the good ole days” with retro, mid century furnishings and it’s literally across an another Victorian era building.

Quiet place for abit of work and chill away from the hustle and bustle of saigon life.

10/10 would return and try their menus again ☕

The place is not easy to find, but when u find it, totally perfect for someone who wants to read books or relax, study also

Cosy coffee shop with nice taste of music. Can get a little bit crowded via lunchtime as they offer set lunch. Staffs are polite. Good place for working alone, couples or just 1-2 friends.

Like the place and the atmosphere of this café hidden at the second floor of a nice modernist building.
