Sierra Homestay

We stayed 3 nights, and we really enjoyed our stay. We arrived at 9am in the morning and they were able to let us do an early check-in. The family is really nice and welcoming. They told us everything about the activities to do in Ninh Binh. Also, the room was clean with a great view on the mountains. You can rent a scooter directly from them as well as bus tickets. We’d definitely come back if we have the chance! Thank you again 🙏🏼

We booked a room for 2 adults and 2 kids. Big room with two queen bed and space for our 8 pieces of luggage. Excellent host who has good knowledge of local tourist locations and a wide collection of home brew rice wine. The best rice wine I've had where they don't burn my throat on the way down. Overall, just a beautiful family and accommodating host.

Would definitely stay here again. The owners are so nice and had loads of recommendations on where to go. They have two working (but a little beat up) bikes that can be used to cycle around the surrounding stunning countryside. The roads themselves are quite flat which is very nice!

Plusses:
+ Amazing location, lots of local street food nearby.
+ Amazing people, get to know them and possibly try some of their homemade wines.
+ The rooms all have wonderful views.
+ Great showers, just kake sure to turn the hot water on a few hours before you want to shower. They turn it off when cleaning (I learned this the hard way xD)

Things to consider as it may not be for everyone:
- The family lives in the building including some small kids, which, as small kids do can make a bit of noise
- During the day music can be blasted from neighboring homes
- the mattresses are quite hard

Lovely place to stay with great owners. Everyone was super helpful and friendly. They opened up for us at 4am when our bus arrived extra early with no additional charge and let us stay until 6pm because we had a late bus. Rented motorbikes from here at 180k per day, bit pricey but came with fuel so we didn't need to worry. Have push bikes to borrow.

Really great family run hotel in Trang An away from all the tourists but close to all the places you’ll want to see. Comfortable rooms and a warm welcome always from the owners.

Tan and his family were lovely, helpful and friendly. They made us feel very welcome. They even let us into our room at 4am when we arrived early on the night bus and gave us bananas on arrival.

Tan provided us with a map of local attractions and broke down prices of all of these and helped us to plan where to go and when. He also rented us a scooter for a very reasonable price.

The room itself was lovely. We went for a double room, which overlooked the mountain and had a balcony. The room was tidied each day for us and the bathroom was good. The bed was so comfortable.

Due to recently having a new baby, the restaurant at the homestay wasn’t open which was a shame. However, Tan was very knowledgeable of other alternative places we could eat and gave great recommendations.

Tan sorted out a taxi for us to the airport for a good rate as well.

Really nice, friendly family who runs it, helped us out a lot with motorbike renting, taxis and local trip recommendations. The room and bathroom was very clean, with big windows with a good view of the cliffs. The local area has lots of very cool motorbike routes, with temples and rice and lotus fields. 100% would come back again, thank you!

Tan has been amazing. He helped us out guiding us on what attractions to see and when and get the most out of our holidays in Ninh binh. He prepared us a scooter and helped us arranging for a taxi. The room was clean with great view and fridge and water. We felt like in a proper homestay. The location is amazing, next to key attractions and vegetarian restaurants.

The family who owns this hotel is so sweet. Tan showed us all of the nearby attractions that we should go to, and even taught us how to ride the moped.
The room was also great- it was the perfect size, very clean, and comfortable. We loved the location- close to beautiful nature and a few restaurants. It was the perfect place to base ourselves while exploring Trang An.

Wonderful people ! All the family was so kind to us and have been helping us during all our stay ! I recommend them 100% !!

An amazing stay at Sierra. The family are some of the nicest people we have met in Vietnam. So friendly and helpful. The rooms are big, clean and have great views. We had the hot pot and it was absolutely delicious. Made from the vegetables they grow as well as other ingredients bought from local suppliers. The hotel is in a perfect location, a stones throw from the boat tour and viewing point. I wish we could have stayed longer. Hopefully i will be able to return again soon. Highly highly recommended. Extremely friendly and helpful from when we arrived to when we left. Stunning rooms which were spacious, clean, and had incredible views of the surrounding hills. The rooftop restaurant was also lovely with a good selection of food dishes. The family were very kind and offered tips on what to do and where to go. The bicycles were free to use and there were also scooters available. Would definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay here! It’s more like half hotel/ half homestay. The rooms are very nice and clean with great views! The family that owns and runs the place is wonderful! We loved getting to know them and they were so helpful with providing maps and ideas for what to do. Breakfast is included and it’s great! The home cooked meals are delicious and the menu has lots of options (vegan options too!). It’s a very quiet neighborhood yet close to everything you want to do. Renting a motorbike from them is a must and they make it so easy. Highly recommend staying here!

Sierra Homestay is a perfect base for exploring the beauty of the Hoa Lu region ⛰🚣‍♂🏞🌾 honestly, we enjoyed our stay so much and would love to come back!

The family is insanely adorable and friendly and will help answer any and all questions. They were very helpful in helping to plan our trip (I suggest the bird sanctuary if you have time) and when we were running late to get our bus, called a taxi and stayed with us until it arrived. The beds are really comfortable (like a cloud) and there is both heat and AC in the room. They even have Netflix! The breakfast was really nice but I would suggest avoiding the soups (just very oily which is typical). Although their are definitely prettier properties in Ninh Binh, I would stay here again just because I loved the family and facilities so much.

Nice rooms, great people and good food. View from the terrace and the room is great. Family run place and everyone is so so friendly. Free bikes, motorbikes are 15k vnd per day.

Comfy beds and good location - we didnt need the motorbikes to visit the popular spots (viewpoint and boat tour) as all of them where just a few km away.

This is called "home stay" but the building is so nicely done with 4 floors plus rooftop restaurant and rooms so well appointed that it could be a Boutique Hotel! The lovely young lady Minh at the reception is incredibly great at English and I've been to much more expensive hotels in Vietnam where the staff couldn't understand you, so this is a huge plus for Sierra Homestay. Because the stay was so comfortable I even extended my time there and the surrounding landscapes wherever you walk are so endlessly beautiful and dynamic that you can never take enough photos.
The Sierra is very strategic located in between Trang An and Tam Coc in a rather quiet area and you can have a great sleep not being woken up by the constant honking of bikes like in more central and crowded areas.
Breakfast was order-made from a list of dishes but we always ended up paying a little and ordering other stuff too because VietNam is such an inexpensive country and the food is healthy and delicious so why not indulge yourself.
For the same reason also had laundry done here and at times instead of paying for a taxi preferred to pay the Sierra and arrange for transport with the young man at the reception who also understands English well.
They were also great to search and book transport to Hanoi for us.
The room has all amenities you would need, fridge, water boiler, hair dryer and a nice view. Also if you don't manage to get food in the town, they can cook for you dinner so delicious and healthy!
The whole experience was so wonderful and not even the season of green rice fields, will have to go there again and experience the stunning nature in different views!

Very comfortable and friendly service. I arrived at night at 03:30 and they opened their door and I could use the room already over 10h before. Nice breakfast on roof terrace. Good kitchen-chef at home.

Very friendly owners, you can feel like in your family. Tasty food on the roof top, amazing view from the room windows and from the roof top. Super clean! Perfect location to reach everything, there are motorbikes for good price, highly recommend.

I think this is probably the best choice for your stay in Ninh Binh. The rooms are large and clean, the view (as a result of the huge windows) is breathtaking and last but not least the service is absolutely outstanding. The guesthouse is run by a family who are not afraid to have a little talk with you about Ninh Binh. Also in the evening they sometimes like to share a little of their (strong) rice wine with you! I've had a great stay here and learned a lot about neighbourhood. Oh and before I forget: The included breakfast and the restaurant on the rooftop are great! They harvest their own fresh herbs to flavour the dishes! I can definately recommend this place.
