Núi Chùa Bái Đính

We loved it here so much we went twice. This is a beautiful, peaceful place with stunning views, beautiful architecture and magnificent temples. There is also a lovely garden coffee shop with a sweeping panoramic view and a restaurant with interesting dishes and lots of vegetarian options. It’s huge, and if you want to see a lot you can book a tour and they’ll drive you around to show you key spots. We chose to wander and enjoy the tranquility and gardens at our own pace. Definitely bring water if you’re going to wander as we did.

Walking the outside wall is very pretty. It’s sheltered and has endless statues against a beautiful brick wall.

The temples are spectacular. It is common to remove shoes when entering sacred spaces, so observe what others are doing and respect their traditions. It is also considered inappropriate for either men or women to show a lot of skin (tank tops, short shorts etc…) when going into temples, so wear something conservative if you have it. This is not enforced here, but it is culturally respectful and considerate to do.

We highly recommend visiting the Three Periods temple where three statues of the Buddha represent the past, present and future. If you meditate, grab a cushion, nestle in front of a statue and meditate with your eyes open. If you pick a single point on the statue’s face and never look away, you experience various optical illusions and these statues create *stunning* displays.

If you go over to see the alters located in the caves, *do not* buy Josh paper. There will be a spot where people pressure you into doing it - just keep going. This is a tradition where you write down a name and birth date, wrap it around incense sticks and burn it as a sort of spiritual currency. The people at the temples don’t speak English so they struggle to explain how to do this ritual, and they get quite agitated when you don’t do it just right. It honestly just detracts from an otherwise lovely experience.

Do pay extra to go up the tower. There is an elevator but we opted for the stairs. The views are spectacular- bring a good camera!

It’s also worth noting there are several well located and clean washrooms.

The entrance fee was 120 VND for two of us. Guests are shuttled from the entrance to the pagoda complex itself. There are two points where you can take a shuttle back to the main entrance. One close to the drop of point, one at the back of the complex beside the pearl well.

Getting there from Tam Coc is easy - you can take a lovely, scenic countryside road up the river using a scooter, then along the main road into Bai Dinh. We bicycled one time and it took us an hour and fourth minutes.

Our first visit was on a Monday and it was very quiet. Our second visit was on a Friday and it was much busier.

This is a must do if you’re in the area.

Từ trên cao nhìn xuống bạn sẽ thấy thế phong thuỷ quần tụ tạo thành thế " Đai lưng ôm ngọc ". Khí thế tập trung hội tụ vào giữa. Từ đây có thể thấy được thiên nhiên ban tặng cho nơi đây những điều kiện tuyệt vời để tạo nên 1 thắng cảnh cực đẹp. Không khí cực kì an lành, tĩnh lặng.

Chùa cổ Bái Đính có cảnh quan đẹp, phong thủy hữu tình.

Chùa Bái Đính vừa hùng vĩ vừa đẹp. Đẹp một cách ngỡ ngàng. Mình đã phải thốt lên "đẹp thật sự" khi được nhìn ngắm cảnh quan nơi đây. Mình đi vào 1 ngày mây mưa ít nắng mà vẫn có thể cảm nhận đc cảnh sắc đẹp đến ngở ngàng. Chùa đang có vài hạng mục được tu sửa nên mình ko được đi hết chùa. Theo mọi người nói thì muốn đi hết nơi đây phải mất 1 ngày.
