This is a very awesome place of worship. Close to other very popular Temples but this one which honours the sea goddess similar to Chinese Mazu is very old and a visual masterpiece. If you only visit one temple this should be on the list.

It called as Thien Hau Pagoda. It seem to be rather ancient. Many people even tourists ( most of them come from chinese) come here to make ceremonial offerings, especially on traditional vacations or Tet. This is a work architecture that is influenced by Chinese Culture. We can see many dragon and phoenix sympol or pictographic curve engraved on the wall and the roof. They are really sophisticated and mysterious that you should trip here to admire

An ancient traditional pagoda. Motorbike parking area is outside, 10k/per one on Fed 2023. No need to buy anything outside.

Great ambiance and the interior is identical to those of traditional Chinese temples.
Many great prayer offerings/services available. Look at the size of the incense stick! Highly recommended

A place of worships, a place to refresh your mind, and a place to find your soul in peace despite of the noise and bustling surroundings.

Stumbled into this temple by our mototour of Hochiminh- it was amazing very very old chinese temple of a goddess.

We walked in to a ceremony- I like to say the Chinese mafia but they were probably a group or family of chinese business owners asking for luck and prosperity right before the Lunar New Year- which is in about 2 weeks, the 24th. The tour guide said that although the Chinese population is only 7% they own 30% of the businesses in Hochiminh.

Saw a lot of Viet women dressed up and taking photos apparently it’s a thing to take photos for TET. Also saw a semi famous model/singer taking photos. Many people take photos here because there isn’t any actual monks that live at the temple- still seems abit disrespectful to me. 🤷🏻‍♀

If you’re in the area, stop by- especially during lunar new year it’s gorgeous.

You can call “The Shrine of Miss Thiện Hậu” it more like a shrine than a pagoda. This place have been 259 years old (1760). Meaning that it was exist before the ”war world I” even before “America Civil war”. I could said that this is the oldest thing that still exist in Ho Chi Minh City (aka Sai Gon).
Although this one have been repair and for many time. But the concept and the feeling of the old and vintage is still there.
It was giving the order by the French (when Việt Nam is still the colony of France) about not making any harm (vandal, tear down the place) in any circumstances when it reach a 100 year old.
First time I been here. I was stand in the perfect spot that I can see the separate line between the sun light and the shadow, which is the best experience I have ever had about this place(one of the picture below shown that). It not that good because it was took on the Iphone 6. But if you notice you find out too.
Bottom line: If you a foreigner, or Vietnamese. Definitely drop by this place. Cause how many of us have a chance to go to the place have 250 years old, right ? As foreigner ! Make sure to have some one who understand about the place (tour guide, if you don’t have ! Rent one, it cheap) so you won’t find yourself get bored after 5 minutes there.

This is a very awesome place of worship. If you only visit one temple this should be on the list!!
When I made a donation, they wrote my name on a pink paper and pasted it on the wall. It became a good memorial.
