Buddha Chay Phi Nhung

Visiting from the United States, my girlfriend and her family chose this restaurant, sitting in an alley behind a few larger apartment buildings and government establishments. The fried tofu was excellent and crisp and flavorful, The assortment of vegetables with dipping sauces was a nice palate cleanser. By far the best was the hot pot with various mushrooms and tofu and a broth that I swear had meat in it...but it didn't. Rich, full-bodied, like an Italian wedding soup but spicy and thick. Couldn't stop eating it. The staff is quick and polite, they encourage you to try things you might otherwise overlook. Wide variety of drinks and cold tea for the table (a god-send in the heat). We fed 4 people for about 40 dollars US. Lovely experience, definitely recommend to the traveling vegetarians out there and the meat eaters looking for variety in their diet.

FYI, my experience in this restaurant, i met a guy working this shop, after finished dinner i go out of the shop, their way heavy rain, same time some people’s also move, but they don’t have rain coats that guy gave that send off them safely. Even my end he ask have a booked the cab and whats the number cab and more active..
once car reach the place he take us in umbrella and send us safely.

Beautiful vegetarian dishes. The Singapore noodles have great flavour. The tofu was almost like eating chicken. Lovely quiet space with soft music. A relaxing little escape.

Coming to Buddha Chay is an experience. Great service and the staff radiates with pride. Food was delicious and very fresh, presentation impeccable. Worth the money and the restaurant itself is illuminated with beautiful Chinese lanterns. Not my usual style of dining but I'm sold and will come back.

Best place in Ho Chi Minh city for vegetarians. This restaurant is quite small and located on a quiet street. It is quite busy and crowed on first of the month (Chinese calendar). Staff is friendly and serve food quickly, which is takes around 5 minutes since ordered. Highly recommend the Cheese Wonton for the appetizer and Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. I always order these dishes when I come here. Parking is free.

The vegetarian flavors are the most delicate and unusual I've ever tasted.. The restaurant is tastefully decorated.. Ambience very welcoming, staff warm, Friendly, and efficient. Phi Nhung ensures that all her guests are well taken care of. While we were there doing lunch she walked in with some of the kids she's adopted, said A warm hello to each table and generally Ensured that all was fine before going upstairs.
The desert of Mango with sticky rice was excellent as were the salads and two main courses we tried.
I'd recommend this place to anyone.. In fact is a must do for truly unusual recipes of vegetarian Vietnamese cuisine.

Had my first Buddhist restaurant experience here, very nice food and staff are very polite. A must try food if you are looking for a Buddhist food.

One of the best vegetarian restaurant I’ve been too. The food was very delicious. There are a wide variety of options. I like the atmosphere and background music as well. I tried a lot of food here and they are all very tasty. Highly recommended

The food is amazing there... I'm actually not fond of vegetarian food but this is the place to go! It's clean, people there are nice, there is a lot of choices, it's beautiful there!

The food was delicious there was simply nothing to complain about. Service was also outstanding especially from Trâm. She was very attentive, jolly, and enthusiastic which in turn made our experience at the restaurant all the more better.

I give them a 5 stars not because the food or service is good. They don't have 30% of the menu items today 😕. The one I want to eat or drink they don't even have it.. I request no peanut they bring out the dish with peanut in it..I found an insect in my soup.. literally 2 tables and the place is dead so I asked if I could sit at big table cause I had like 4 dishes n take them a minute to decide to let me sit a big table.. anyways I've been here few years ago and was happy but this time VERY DISAPPOINTED.
