Ninh Bình Mountain View Homestay

We were lucky enough to have 5 nights during Tet this year at this beautiful part of Ninh Binh . Our hosts Tranh and Hang as always made sure our stay was extra special. This is not a big resort but a tranquil place to rest away from the city life but still close enough to see the tourist attractions or go into Ninh Binh city if you wish. Tranh has tours that not a lot of tourists get to go on they're private and small so you go at your pace and Thanh has a huge amount of local knowledge that he is happy to share . Hang is the chef and you will get some of the best home cooked meals around . All fresh ingredients from market daily with vegan and vegetarian available ( but give her plenty of notice)

Beautiful place to stay. Rooms are cosy and clean. Jasmine is a wonderful host! She had a lot of nice tips about where to go, and her food is amazing!! Also nice that you can rent a scooter here.

Our stay here was amazing! Friendly owners, my kids, and I loved it there. And the views are amazing not to mention the food as well.

Jasmine is truly one of the kindest and most genuine people we met during our trip to Vietnam! Even though we are not guests of the hotel, she took care of us, and drove us in her motorbike to the sightseeing spot we're going to, without asking anything in return. Thank you, we really appreciate it, and would love to stay at yours when we come to Vietnam again!

Nice homestay with tasteful decoration, clean and very accommodating family that runs it! Each room has some outside kind of “private” place to chill, they also have hammocks around the whole place, pool is great too!

We had food and we’re very impressed, tasty!

She make our stay so comfortable , Their family shared their kitchen with us where we prepared Indian food, it was my birthday my daughter and Jasmine surprised me with a lovely cake ... I will never forget two little kids of Jasmine with whom my daughter got so attached that she want to stay connected with them , so that they don't forget her ..... Just an absolutely amazing place. So peaceful and beautiful. We hired bikes from the place and cycled round the lake. Food at the honestly was so good and such great value. Wonderful hosts could not do enough for us. Lovely pool to cool off in. Would definitely recommend wish we'd stayed for longer.

We had a lovely stay with Jasmine and her family - they are lovely and hospitable hosts! The house is beautiful and it's located in such a peaceful area, but not too far from the attractions in the Ninh Binh area. We really enjoyed the inclusive breakfast and then the additional option of having dinner meant we got to try lots of delicious homecooked Vietnamese food.
Definitely recommend others staying here, it's such a relaxing stay.

Everything was very nice. We had a really late check in what wasn't a problem.
The room was clean and everything as expected.
Only one daughter speaks very well english but it was outstanding how friendly also the parents and other daughter were.
When we were waiting to be picked up, the father brought us lychees.
They even gave us bicycles to use for no fee.
The mother conjured up a wonderful breakfast. We also got fresh Jackfruit and yummy vietnamese coffee with ice.
Everything was great. Cam on!

Mountain View Homestay is by far the most comfortable accommodation I’ve stayed in in Asia. Jasmine, who I believe is the owner, is kind, caring, and the definition of good hospitality and hosting. Not only was all the food we had on site fresh and delicious, but Jasmine made sure to get our preferences each and every day. Beyond that, she noticed that on checkin one of my friends had a birthday, and as a total surprise to us, got him a custom cake and threw a little birthday celebration for us. The rooms are also fantastic and clean. You need to stay here.

We really loved this homestay. The location was perfect for us (we had a scooter) and it's really convenient if you want to visit Van Long Reserve very early in the morning. We had what were probably the best nights of sleep in three months in SEA while staying there. Also, the family is really nice. They also offer a very reasonably priced dinner at night - take it!! It's delicious. We truly loved it and felt like we were having a home cooked banquet that changed every night. Just a really great place and great value for your money.

Jasmine has been the best host you could ever hope for. The place is absolutely stunning and you wish that you could only stay longer. It's definitely best if you have your own transportation (scooter/bike/car) to come here as it's absolutely worth every day and penny. Oh and an upcoming pool is being built!

This was hands down the best place I stayed at in Vietnam. The staff went above and beyond to be helpful to us. When my girlfriend injured herself on a motorbike, Jasmine and her family not only helped patch her up, but also personally took us to the doctor and stayed to make sure she was alright. Also, she helped us book a train when we were having trouble, and served us the best food (homecooked!) I had throughout my trip. I cannot recommend this place enough, if you're going through Ninh Binh it is a must-stay.

Jasmine is simply the most pleasant, helpful and lovely host you could wish for.

The homestay is located right next to Bai Dinh Pagoda which is the biggest Buddhist temple complex in Vietnam. The place is absolutely amazing and one of our highlights on our three weeks trip through Vietnam. Furthermore it is within scooter distance to all the other highlights of the area plus peaceful rice fields, lakes and relaxing environments.

The food was traditional homemade dishes. It came in generous portions and was served with much care by her friendly female staff.

The rooms were large and came with comfy beds, private bathrooms and a balcony where you can read books or chill in the evening. Besides your private balcony the homestay also has a big open garden/dining area - perfect for bonding with the other guests and the people working there.

Currently they are also finishing off a new large pool area which I can only imagine will give the place even more atmosphere and great vibe.

We grew quite fond of all of the people in her homestay and have great respect for her running the place having just received two twins 10 days before our arrival. Power woman!

Amazing people—hostess Jasmin is truly a wonderful person—who have created a very nice accomodation! Situated at the less visited side of the main mountainous area, making it most ideal for a multiple day visit to the area. The whole area is easily explored by scooter (rent there). Having dinner there is an excellent option. Very affordable in june. Sixth star for the little care package given to us by Jasmin at depature, headed towards our overnight bus. :-)

I'm actually 1 year late with my review of this place but i'm sure it's still just as good as in 2018.

Jasmine, who cares for the guest's is an incredible person. She literally cares! For you, who you are, where you come from, your language e.g.

The food was plenty and among the best we had in Vietnam (and there is a lot of great food there) and the rooms were nice and clean.

The place is a little outside of town but almost everything in the region should be done by moto anyways. That said we had a blast even if neither me nor my wife was capable of riding one: Jasmines Dad and one of his frieds took us anywhere the whole day long for just a small charge (of 250k vnd, as far as i remember). They even brought food/drinks when we came back from a viewpoint and were always there to pick. Great company! Again: The whole day! When we tipped them (which was not expected) they were really grateful and returned the favour with some selfmade rice liqour.

We just really felt welcome here. A great stay and one of my favourite Vietnam memories!

Domestic quiet environment outside the city. Beautiful accommodation . Nice and welcoming family 🙂 and excellent home cooking 👍 Beautiful monuments in the vicinity. I recommend to visit. 👍

Clean, spacious rooms. Warm and friendly staff. Motorbike & bicycle for rent. Jasmine and her family will accommodate to special requests, like my mother’s gluten allergy, or planning our daytime activities.

After 53 days of travelling across Thailand and Vietnam, this place stood out to me as my absolutely favourite accommodation. This is an absolute must stay.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable and have their own AC units, the beds are very comfortable and the shower is large with hot water.

The food options are incredible 5$ for their 3-5 course dinner which changes every night but was absolutely delicious. There are also cheaper options for just over 1$ you can get a big bowl of fantastic pho, or one of their other options. The beer is also very cheap which is a plus. There is also an included breakfast that has various choices from a great omelette to pancakes to a bowl of pho.

The main hostess, jasmine was also the friendliest, most hospitable person person I have met on my travels, she would come and knock on our door to as us our dinner choice and breakfast choices, one time even calling our taxi driver while we were out on an excursion.

On my final day at the homestay I was already blown away, but jasmine actually noticed on my passport that it was my birthday and without any prompt went out and got me a custom birthday cake with my name and age, came and got us from our room for the surprise.

She continuously went above and beyond during my stay here and I can’t recommend this place highly enough

Highly recommend staying at Jasmine's homestay!
- lovely and generous family
- excellent food and generous portions (enjoyed the family dinner a lot)
- great talks with the host Jasmine
- very comfortable mattresses and spacious bungalows for a low price

The only inconvenience: you have to walk a few meters out of the garden to actually see the mountains.
Also, it is a little drive to most of Ninh binh attractions, but is therefore located right next to the lovely Pagoda Bai Dinh!
