Cat Ba Eco-Lodge

Location is stunning. Incredibly peaceful & low-key atmosphere. Rooms were clean & comfortable. Host was kind & welcoming. Nice lounge area & a swimming pool. The friendly corgi was an added bonus. Food was good & drinks were decent + reasonable. Would recommend.

Dat and his team were great to us during our stay at their place. Very welcoming and knowledgeable and spoke good English. The lodge is very beautiful and quiet. Amazing food and good, clean amenities. Would stay here again for sure. The staff were also able to provide good suggestions for the rest of our trip in Vietnam which was very useful.

We stayed at the eco lodge for 2 nights. It’s a lovely place, very quiet and peaceful. The rooms could do with a bit of an update, also would have been nice to have a kettle and coffee in the room, but all in all it was nice. The pool was dirty and it looked like it hadn’t been used for a long time. It didn’t bother us though as it was a bit cold for a swim.
The manager Dat was amazing. Very friendly and helpful, arranged us a rental motor bike, a boat tour on La Han bay which was amazing and also a taxi to Haiphong airport.

Stayed here during a visit to Ha Long bay and Cat Ba island. Very nice location with beautiful view. The rooms were spacious and clean. The bathroom was alright. The service was more than welcome and the food and drinks were good! All in all a good place to stay during your visit. The swimming pool is a nice addition to have a swim while enjoying the scenery.

This place is incredible! Tucked away from the Cat Ba Island strip of hotels, Cat Ba Eco-Lodge was one of our favorite places we stayed during my friend and I’s month long trip throughout Vietnam. Kien was so helpful and always around to answer any questions we had; his English was excellent, and he even helped us set up a full day boat/kayak tour through Lan Ha Bay. He also helped us organize bus tickets to our next location. Staff were super friendly and food at the eco-lodge was yummy and fairly priced. This place was quiet and perfect for a few days of relaxation. While the eco-lodge is a bit outside of town, we rented a scooter from the lodge and it was easy to explore the island/get into town. The eco-lodge definitely helped enhance our stay at Cat Ba Island. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Very idyllic place in the middle of the forest.
While Cat Ba town can get quite busy, this place is tucked away in the forest and offers a relaxing stay.
Prior to our arrival, they already contacted us with all relevant details and helped us with booking the bus transfer from Hanoi.
The service is excellent and Dat clearly manages the place very well!
We booked the chalet, which has a balcony and view of the lake and forest. We enjoyed the cozy, simple design. The very hot shower is a big plus, especially in the cold season.
The only thing we would change is that there was a window in the room without curtains and a little path in front. Would have been good if there was a way for guests to cover it if they wished to.

We stayed for one night and everything was great. Simple, quiet accommodation with no fuss. Good air conditioning, heated water, clean with a beautiful view. Had everything organised from him - motorbike rental, kayak tours the next day, driver to the cable car point and he gave us good recommendations for the national park and hospital cave. Only small thing is that they don’t accept credit card. When I had issues with payment Dot was patient and let us sort out PayPal payment after we left. Thank you for trusting us!

Such a beautiful stay tucked away in the jungle near Cat Ba National park! the view out of our cabin was unreal. Rooms were clean, the pool was magnificent, and the drinks were delicious and affordable. Dat helped arrange our travel to and from Hanoi, and also helped us book a wonderful overnight cruise in Lan Ha bay for an affordable price. He also gave us great recommendations for activities and went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable and relaxing stay. Highly recommend any traveler to stay at the Cat Ba Eco-lodge!

We visited the resort on our Much Better Adventures tour last week. The eco cabins were brilliant - clean and comfortable. They weren't perfect but it's what you'd expect from an eco resort. The owner was super friendly and spoke very good English. They food was incredible and the whole place had a brilliant feel to it. View of a Reservoir and lots of nature surrounded the area.
We went out of season but would definitely return in the future.

A unique property that you can’t get a second one on the island. The campus is a complex of Thai stilt house style with very comfortable rooms with 3+ star. You even do have chance to try their seasonal fruits with a peaceful gardens. The MUST stay place on Cat Ba Island if you would like to hide away from the busy life.

My family had a wonderful time here. It is so green and peaceful. Room is abit small but have all what we need. Food was so good, staff was so nice and friendly. It is really great place for ones who love the nature and look for a home away from home. My Kids love this place and we will absolutely come. back here for our next visit to Catba island.

We stayed here with a pre-booked 2-day trip to Cat Ba island. We loved here everything, it is very calm, the chalet is comfortable and the staff is incredibly kind and helpful. We had a lot of fun here.

While the location of the lodge may be a challenge for some, the peaceful and natural surroundings make it an excellent choice for those who want to escape the city's hustle and bustle. The rustic charm and picturesque environment make it a fantastic destination for a refreshing and relaxing getaway.

Go for the picturesque cabin in the mountainside, and stay for Kien’s hospitality. This is such a peaceful spot at the Eco Lodge, and Kien has created a warm and friendly environment, inclusive of happy hour, shots of his own “happy water,” and a bonfire at night. The lodge creates a unique environment for travelers to meet one another and Kien is always available and eager to help, especially since this is in a more remote location (but close to Cat Ba National Park!).

Happy hour 5pm - 7pm 2 for 1 on selected drinks, small outdoor pool. Very good evening meal, Mainly egg and toast breakfast options. Pool table. Clean rooms, comfortable beds.

Lodge is away from the rat race of the busy cities on the mainland. Host spoke good English and was very helpful with ideas for activities. Other staff nice n polite. Rooms spacious, clean with a comfortable bed. Food nice n freshly cooked.

The location was quiet and peaceful, about 10-12km from the city. The room was basic and comfortable. The staff were friendly, helpful and their English is very good too! The food was delicious, there was a very big swimming pool and they are pet friendly which is amazing! They practice eco friendly sustainable living which is also amazing 👏

Oh the trail for the park which made hiking easy.

Scooter rental was cheap.

Room was quite large, clean and more than we had expected.

I really can't say much else, other than I would stay here again if I ever get the chance to go back to Vietnam.
