Nearby are hiking trails ranging from easy to difficult with incredible views of the valley, mountains, and sea. The real star here is the host family. They are incredibly friendly and helpful (they'll meet every need and assist above and beyond with arranging travel and any questions you may have).

If you're looking for a quieter, serene place to do some hiking with the friendliest family this is it!

Excellent stay! The staff were friendly and helpful, the AC was nice at night. It was a bit of a trip out there but so worth it! The owner makes you yummy food and can set up any sort of activities you would like. We hiked and swam and had a great time.

Best location in Viet hai, which have the best location on Catba island.
A bit tricky to get there, but they provide all the things you need to know or arrange transportation if that's your cup of tea.
Don't miss the wonderful hikes around the jungle there starting two meters off the premises (or the great food). I especially want to point out the special care and attention we got since my partner was sick when we got there, they really took extra care and made that experience of being sick away from home better.

What a pleasant (re)treat. Away from the hustle of Cat Ba city, this small village is situated in a natural valley in the Eastern part of Cat Ba. The ferry there is a feast on its own, and the location is simply stunning.
The bungalows are simple, but clean, well maintained (everything works) and the beds are very soft and comfortable. You can get free fish spa's, morning mugnum opus of the wildlife and domesticated animals, picture perfect views and a hike towards a jawdropping vantage point.
Staff and surrounding villagers are friendly as can be, work their hats off and the local spokesperson "cuong" is insanely prompt with replying to any of your questions at any given time. English of the family is very good and with a little use of Google translate (WiFi is great) some patience (bring that yourself) you can have a proper dialogue about pretty much anything.
Walk around, book a tour, but don't forget to just be there and inhale the local splendour.

Whisper nature bungalow was a peaceful escape from the cat ba noise. The hosts treated us like they have known us for years. The rooms are basic but clean with Or conditioning, wifi and hot water. The food was delicious and cooked by the family owning the bungalows. I can't reccomend this place enough if you are looking for a quiet stay in northeastern Vietnam.

Everything was more than perfect! The Food was so delicious and the Bungalow very nice. There is a River in the middle of the resort with small bridges. It looks like in a fairytale. So beautyful! And Most important the owner of the resort has been very helpful and nice. We are so grateful to him.

I only visited the fish pond where you can get a pedicure done by tiny fish. It's a truly beautiful place. Only reachable by boat
