Cat Ba Countryside Homestay & Restaurent

Very nice place to stay in Catba. The staff is incredible, very helpful and hardworking. The rooms are very comfortable and hygienic.
It’s a bit out of town, but with a scooter you are very mobile. Also the food is really nice. Highly recommend this accommodation!

My partner and I decided to stay here in a private bedroom with private bathroom, rather than staying in town. Best decision we made. First of all, it‘s quick and easy to take a scooter in to town (20 minute ride through the beautiful island towards Cat Ba town). The Hospital Cave is a 10 min walk away. Cat Ba National Park is a 15 minute drive. This homestay has a pool and a DELICIOUS family-ran restaurant. We stayed here for 5 nights and we ate good food at all times of day. The breakfast Bahn Mi is amazing. The vegan and vegetarian options are just as amazing. You can enjoy your evenings in the company of a wonderful family with a couple small children who are delightful. If you like for the occasional tiny kitten to hop in to your lap for a quick nap while your hanging out in a hammock, then this place is for you. If you like dogs, then this is also for you. If you like baby goats roaming around in the garden next door, than this is also for you. Our host is knowledgeable and speaks great English. He got us a scooter for very cheap, set up a boat tour for us and handled our bus ride back to Hanoi - he takes care of everything so you don’t have to - and no pressure to book anything either! Thank you Cat Ba Countryside Homestay for giving us a reason to come back one day.

After a few nights in Cat Ba town we moved to here and were so pleased we did. Lovely spot, clean rooms, easy to rent a scooter for town and the national park and fantastic food! Highly recommend.

Lovely family and very reasonably priced food. Highly recommend their beef banh mi. Scooter rental price is reasonable and the owner is incredibly helpful. Pool was well taken care of even though it was too cold to swim while I was there.

We stayed at this hostel for two nights, and it was great, with a tidy room, beautiful views of the surrounding area, and very friendly people who run the place!

Although it is a little out of town, the owner rents scooters to make it easy to get around, and is very accommodating to guests! The food is also very good if you fancy staying in for a day, especially the omelette, egg coffee, and the fruit salad.

We came here as a couple and stayed in a private room which was very affordable and quite comfortable. Loved the ambiance of the place, the family who runs it was really kind and helpful. We rented a scooter here. It’s a bit further from Cat Ba town and the seaside, so that was maybe the only drawback, given’s that the February weather was a bit chilly and misty, the rides home were pretty cold. But then there’s a hot shower and a calm, remote location (with the occasional karaoke) so it was nice altogether. The fresh springroll plate was superb.

Lan and his family have an excellent homestay. Wonderful friendly, helpful and accommodating. Great service and an excellent place to stay. The rooms are comfortable and peaceful. The local country ambience is wonderful. Definitely worth staying out of town for the quiet. They can provide meals but it is only a few minutes to town in a taxi or on a rental scooter if you want to try a Cat Ba restaurant or coffee shop. Lan can also organise tours or transport.

This place was amazing and exactly what I was looking for. I have already recommended it to others.

It's quite far away from the centre (6km) but I loved that. The village we were in felt very authentic and also much more quiet. Apart from the inescapable karaoke that seems to follow you everywhere haha

The family that looked after the place were so lovely. Always helped when I needed it and so chill.

The price for a private room was £6 which is amazing considering it had 2 double beds with an ensuite bathroom.

I met a bunch of travellers there too who were similar to me.

To top it often they had 2 cute kittens and a puppy that loved to play. If you like peace while also meeting like minded people, definitely recommend this place. It's best to get a scooter though

They have really big bedrooms, everything is really cheap and the owners are amazing people. It is located at the best place (far away from tourists and in the heart of nature). Last but not least, rent a moto from them (120k/day) and follow the plan of the owner in order to have a cool drive around the island. Enjoy

Loved our stay here, the family are very friendly and helpful. Super clean rooms, hot showers, very reasonable price, plenty of food options and we liked the calm and more remote location - plus it’s close to the National park + cave. Thanks again!

Clean facilities, fantastic host and great location away from the town in a small village.
Can hire scooters and push bikes from here. Host also offers a taxi service.
Host provides catering, restaurant style for breakfast lunch and dinner 7 am till 9 pm.
Remember, this is a village homestay, not a 5 star resort and review is written with this in mind

Rooms are big and nice, cleaned daily. Food is fresh and made with care.
Location maybe an issue for some but it's why I picked it out of town in a very quiet village

Amazing hotel, very clean, cozy, comfortable beds, nice quiet area surrounded with the nature and beautiful flowers, the owner is amazing person always was helpful and welcomed, always ready to help and give advices, he speaks English very well what is a big plus as well, also they have nice restaurant with delicious home food (good portions, good quality and good price), highly recommended but note that place located 8 km from the centre, but you are in the middle of nature 😍oh btw they have very tasty egg coffee also ))

Great place to stay. Chilled vibe, food served until 9pm. Can rent bikes to head into town and its remote enough to just relax without craziness

Best stay so far in Vietnam.
The hosts were very very welcoming and helpful.
We had to move our stay to a day later then what we booked because one of us got sick, and they just moved it with out even thinking of charging us.
Also the room was good and clean and the food was excellent.

Great place to stay. Rooms were huge, the owner was very helpful booking tours or buses and fair priced, a little out of town but scooter rental available so if comfortable on scooter no issues, would highly recommend.

This is a great place to stay for couples and backpackers.. Mr Lyn, the owner, has a very lovely family.. it is a family looked after homestay.. you will get all the right information here.. 5 kms from national park and 6 kms from cat ba town, it is located in a very peaceful neighborhood - perfect for sleep after all day out in cat ba activities and great place to view sunrise..

Lan and his family are the best hosts ever! He really goes above and beyond to help you and there is no better value than this place with the food, housing, tours and rentals!

Stayed for one night, but everything was perfect. Great food, beds and pool for a very reasonable price. Can’t miss.

Little paradise on Cat Ba.
A few kilometers away From the City of Cat Ba we found this lovely place and stayed for 6 nights. It is a relaxed/ layed back atmosphere with an awesome view in the mountains. The family speaks very Good english and helps you with everything (Bus, Boat Tour etc.). It is very clean and for us the perfect place to be on Cat Ba.
