Thung Nham Bird Valley

We loved our little trip to the valley. The whole area is a park you can access by bike, foot or e-car. We cycled around and saw fantastic gardens, flowers and birds of course! You can take a boat that brings you closer to the birds bit we wanted to discover on our own. Touristic but very well done!

Easy cycle ride from Tam Coc to where you buy your ticket for 150k. Then it's a bit uphill to get to the actual park area and then downhill. You can park your bicycle next to the motorbikes. I went to see the cranes who come back to the trees around 4pm onwards. The boats will take you close to them in the trees. But there was also the very long cave to walk down into and the boat ride into the cave. You could spend a lot of time here because there are gardens and flowers too and lots of beautiful places to drink a coffee. On a hot day I imagine this would be a great natural environment to relax.

A must see if you’re in Ninh Binh! There is so much to do and the views are gorgeous. We took almost no photos because we were just in awe.

We drove a scooter in but a lot of people were on bikes. It’s a long way so if you can, I recommend a scooter but it’s definitely worth it either way.

Beautiful place, for 150k you get 2 boat rides included and access to a long cave. Worth the visit. The boat ride with birds is breath taking.

I was here few days back on my long weekend.first time in nihn bihn province.and We go there.it was beautiful lot of walking.and lot of beautiful views for taking pictures.u can also go to up in the hill for bird sight seeing.u can see clearly a lot of birds.i enjoy coming here in explore

Great to see an eco focused attraction. No litter or rubble, well maintained paths. Great bike ride from Tam Coc (about 30mins). Worth doing, the boat gets you nice and close to the roosts. Aim for mid-late afternoon.

Beautiful place with lakes, caves, walking path, boating and natural beauty.

We cycled here and they let us ride around. Definitely recommend cycling here if you can as it's huge and took us most of the day to explore. This place is one of the most beautiful places we've ever visited. Totally worth the entry fee. Absolutely recommended!

150k for two boat tours through a cave and to birds nesting, walking through a beautiful cave by foot and a overall nice scenery. Its a little bit more expensive but I think it is okay.

I went to this place twice. If you just ride the boat in the afternoon at 5 pm, it's not much. If you are an international tourist, my suggestion is to come there on working days arrive before 3 pm. Don't use the golf car, just walk on the trail, keep left of the lake. The trail will bring you along side the lake, you will find a stair to the viewing spot, you will pass the park keeper hut. The trail actually goes all the way deep into the forest, we never find the end. On the way back you can cross the bridge, a shortcut back into civilization. If you arrive before 3 pm, the valley is very, very quiet. You can really enjoy the birds and sounds of nature.
If you are super fit and arrive even earlier, you can try Mermaid Cave, the exit is back on the trail again. So for VND 150, I found that it is actually worthy.

Lovely place and well kept.
The best walk is down by the left side of the lake, then at the accommodation, take the INCLUDED boat ride through the Buddha Cave. You are given a head torch and get to see some small bats inside. It is a lovely ride.
Then proceed right and on the left is the Mermaid Cave (this goes all the way through to the path on the other side). Please note that you will be crouched down most of the 150 metres. It is no good for people with back or knee issues. At the exit, turn left.

If you don't take the cave, then keep walking (with the lake on your right).
In 150 metres, make a turn to the left and follow the path. Soon you will see the exit of the Mermaid Cave.

Continue walking for 12 minutes and there is a staircase on the left.
5 minutes to the top and there is a viewpoint.
After that, you can continue along the path or come back and at the 2nd bridge (not the Flower Island bridge) and continue your walk around the lake.

Incredible, clean and manicured park. The boat ride to see the birds was pure magic! The boat ride inside the caves was also fantasti! We got to see some bats! A very big place, but they have carts you can hire to take you around. We walked it and didn't see much of it as a result.

We were there on Tuesday's in high season. Park was not crowded at all. We could enjoy the caves, the boat tour and the beautiful flowers. The storks were amazing. Everything really clean and in good shape. 150k vnd per person absolutely fair price

The birds nests sanctuary was amazing, you can see real Jurassic park.
Entry fee is only 150k, including 2 boat cruise

Took a boat through an unlit cave to get to the bird park departure area via some wonderfully landscaped gardens. A short boat ride to the roosting area for Asian openbill storks and egrets. We got there about 4:30pm and the trees were covered with birds a wonderful sight especially for a nature lover like myself.

We visited the bird park because it was included in the tour but were not expecting anything. We were so surprised as it was really great especially the two caves that were so fun to visit (one by boat, one where you need to crouch to visit it).
We did not do the boat tour around the park but we walked. The flower garden is nice.
Arrived around 4pm, they were nobody so really enjoyable.

A very great place to go sightseeing, take pictures and have some special local dishes. Staff are friendly. You can also go fruit-picking.

So beautiful. If you have a chance to go see it then do it. Really calming and peaceful.

A wondweful place to visit. The best time to watch bird is around 5 - 5.30p.m. when the sun set and the birds come back to their nests.
