Mrs Truoc’s Snail Stall (Netflix Street Food 2019)

Best snail I ever had.... period.
Fresh, tasty, yummy. Tried 6 types of those snails and the crab leg. All tasted really fresh and tasty. Worth to try and to comeback again. The place is not big, maybe 7 tables of 4 seats.
Arrieved on Wednesday at 9 ish, and the place is already open. Must must visit!

We came on Wednesday morning, but they seemed closed. We managed to come back on Thursday morning before heading to the airport, so we could experience first hand the famous snails.

The place was busy by 10AM and need to wait a bit for the food to be ready.

They have a variety of snails, and you can choose a few sauces. I would recommend the tamarind and butter.

Fresh, flavorful clams and snails that were perfectly cooked. Each dish was 35k vnd. We were 2 people and we got 5 dishes because it's hard to decide.😅 If I had more stomach space, I'd get 3 more because everything was delicious and interesting. We arrived at 8am and she was just starting to set up. She didnt mind us hanging around, watching and taking photos. At 8:45am, they gave us the menu to order and the food came quickly. Just point at what you like. Our favorite was the apple snail steamed with lemongrass. It actually had sweet tamarind and lemongrass in the sauce. Then you can dip the meat in a combination of salt, chili and lemon. Well balanced! It's beside a coffee stall and the lady there gave us a drinks menu that had a note that she actually owns the chairs and tables so we *had to* buy from her. We wanted something to drink anyway so that was fine. I suggest, just buy a bottle of water or soda from her because the coffee was just too sweet and I think I'll be awake for 2 days because of it. 2 people can share 1 coffee, too. 15K VND per coffee.

Greatest place to eat street food in Saigon, Mrs Truoc is an amazing person and the people working there also is. The Snails 🐌 were amazing, I've never tried them before and was a good experience and even better taste. It's a little difficult to get there but the journey it's worth it. We also tried 3 other dishes and everything was great, some of the best food I've ever tried. Every dish is 35k dong. We were 2 people and we pay 140k dong (almost 6 dollars) for 2 people. I will certainly return to eat there soon.

Mind blowing! Amazing food and great service. Snails was fresh. The taste of the snails were just simply clean, not complex flavours, and the dips (salt, lime and chilli) blends well together. In terms of price to quality ratio, probably one of the best street food in Saigon.

Absolutely fan-girling over Mrs. Trouc after her Netflix appearance and the food did not disappoint!!! We got the oc buou hap sa (apple snail steamed with lemongrass), ngheu hap thai (clams steamed Thai style) and oc mon tay xau rau (vegetarian noodle with veggies). All 10/10 - flavors are out of this world!

4 January 2023. Came here at 8.15am, following the opening hours on Google. They’re still setting up and probably not ready to serve until at least another hour. Do not come this early otherwise it’ll be an awkwardly long wait!

Update: They served us at 9am, between 2 of us, we had 5 dishes. Don’t be afraid to go up to 6-8 dishes out of the 16 types of molluscs/snails available! This was our best meal in Saigon after 5 days of eating everything.

The best snails in my life!
I never ate snails in my life before this day. We ordered 1 portion of sweet snails and some others. I liked the sweet snails so much that I ordered more.
Couldn't stop! This is delicious. In the following days of our vacation, I tried snails in different places, but it was not so tasty 🥲
I will definitely come back here for sweet snails on garlic butter sauce!

Truoc snail streetfood was featured on Netflix and this is my favorite seafood street food in HCMC. Every dish we had was incredible. Seafood and ingredients were fresh and cooked with so much love.
The best part of the meal were the friendly workers who showed us how to eat each dish with the sauces provided.
There is also an english menu which was helpful. We has 6 dishes and total came out to around $8 dollars.
The area was clean and there was shade over the seating area.
Can't wait to go back again.

Amazing street food place with very friendly people and affordable prices. I didn't get a menu, instead I got three dishes which they seemed to serve everyone and each dish only costs 30k! I was impressed by the taste and will definitely come back!

Food was good. No price listed on the menu. Need to buy a drink to be able to eat at the place (because the stand belongs to another lady). Went around 9:30 am and there’s already people eating

The best street food from HCMC, it’s a must do, I would definitely go there again and again.

Cheap and affordable. VND35,000 for a dish and VND8,000 for balut (fertilized egg). I was the only person there for a while, but when I left, the place was full of locals.

Amazing opportunity to try such a variety of shells, chosen and cooked by Mrs Truoc herself. The prices are unbelievably low.

Having seen this Saigon treasure on Netflix, we had to go and try it out. 3 adults had different dishes, each was cooked to perfection, taste was amazing, and the food was so delicious. The mud creepers not to everyone's taste, but you must try them or miss the Jewel of Saigon. Prices are really cheap and portions are very generous. Will go back to Saigon again just to try this street food. Truoc is a very nice lady, and I hope her son goes on and opens a larger shop. 5 star Street food.

This is the by far best seafood streetfood I have had in Saigon. Very friendly atmosphere, calm and clean alley, very fair prices.

Had 6 snails for breakfast, and they were as good as I expected!

Amazing and delicious food, we tried half the menu. Owner and workers are extremely friendly and humble. Loved pairing everything with their salt/citrus juice sauce. Sitting on the stools and eating on the streets didn’t bother us one bit because we were enjoying the food so much. Will definitely come back before we fly out to try the rest of the menu ;)

Honestly I wont be even able to find this place, if not for Netflix. But I highly reccomend.

Some of the best snails you'll have in Saigon at a really good price. Nothing has changed since the Netflix show except she's a lot busier.

Anyway, a good spot for snails and a good price. The lady next door sells ice cold drinks and coffee. Highly recommended.
