A must-see destination when visiting Laurel Canyon. Like most "convenience stores" they have everything here. Yeah, prices might be a bit higher than a chain supermarket. Photos from the past (late 60's - early 70's) and your favorite rock legends of that period cover the walls. Nice Deli, with tasty dishes available. Don't miss this opportunity to soak up vibes from years past! Oh yeah, don't forget to grab a cup of coffee and danish outside, sit and enjoy!

My mom grew up listening to The Doors, and this was just cool. We spent the day at the Canyon Country store where the creatures meet. It's located up through Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Kirkwood Drive.
Next, we walked next door to Love Street. ❤
The whole entire experience was fun!! The staff at the Canyon Country Store were so nice, and we ended up having lunch there!

my favorite place. I hang out there for hours meeting interesting people especially the owner Tommy. He has great stories of the history of the store and all of his encounters. Great deli sandwiches and good wine selection.

I miss LA, Laurel Canyon, and the Canyon Country Store so much! I used to live in an apartment above the Dry Cleaners, worked at Caoti Puzza, and made lattes in front of the store in the 1990’s. Tommy is the best human, and the folks living in the Canyon are Angels. Best time of my life!

This is by far the coolest coffee place in the city. Yeah, baby. Come for a chat.

The store has general store written all over it and definitely feels like you’ve gone camping! They have a salad/food bar too with lots of healthy options.

Great history with this place too, check it out!

I loved my massive Gatorade I got here. The girl didn't know how much it was so she said $3 will do. I was super happy.

Great neighborhood convenience store with tons of history. The deli counter has very good veggie and pasta salads. Coffee and pastries on porch in the mornings. Pace restaurant downstairs also a fave when we are in Los Angeles. 🥰

A cool little spot for a quick run to the store combined with a bite of food or a cup of coffee. In the hillside of Laurel Canyon, right by Love Street with all it's history. Tranquil and colorful atmosphere

So cool and iconic! Went there twice in one day coming and going from Santa Monica with my family. Interesting fact, is that Jim Morrison and Pam lived literally across the street and about one mile away is the house where the Wonderland Murders took place in 1981.

I had the great pleasure to shop here for a year or so when I lived in Hollywood. I was always intrigued by the legendary allure of this place, particularly within the musical community. Even the late great Jim Morrison wrote a song about the store.
On my first of many ventures to get their great deli food, I was deeply curious about the great musical legacy. I got to see where Mama Cass stayed (yes she lived here once upon a time in the lower level) and see press clippings of another icon, David Bowie, ordering his favorite English sweets here. I also got to meet Tommy, a rock and roll star owner if there ever was one, and be regaled by tales of the stores history.
The store: the deli sandwiches are fantastic. They really are and there is terrific variety. You get alot for your buck. You can find pretty much every type of food, drink or sweet here within reason and the prices are good, considering the location and prestige. But, it's the warm community of Laurel Canyon locals that further make this a special place to be prized and valued beyond mere storefront. Recently, the L.A. city department is fining this establishment for the decades old murals that have carried the charm and history of Hollywood. It's inconceivable that this is happening to a landmark establishment, but sadly as of August 2019, this is the case. Show Tommy and the Canyon store your support. L.A. is continuing to be oversaturated with sterile and overpriced apartments and the city is in haste to demolish watershed landmarks in the name of the almighty dollar. I hope that the store is spared this ignorance, as it would be utterly shameful for this treasure trove of Hollywood history to be another bureaucratic casualty. In closing, great store for the practical needs, food, drink and a great sense of community here too, with many artists, musicians and local residents having conversations on the outdoor patio, or convening for special yearly events here. It's a must for Los Angeles history enthusiasts and for those looking for a great high end but charming (and not pricey) local country store

LOVE IT!!!! LOTS and LOTS AND UBER LOTS!!! A Family Friend owned this for years - and I enjoyed stopping there for Ice Tea on my daily jogs ... I lived down the street for years - once I even rented the Studio-Owned "Greta Garbo Mansion" = WOWEE WOWEE DUUUH - it's like PURE GOLDDUST there (the GG HOUSE) ... never experienced "real Hollywood" like in Laurel Canyon - Golden Age Hollywood - 1920's-1930's everything .... Thanks to Bradford Craig - the owner of the Greta Garbo House - he's the #1 Interior Designer and Landscaper in the USA - a National Treasure for sure!!!! And so is my cousin who owned this store for so many years!!!!! AMAZING ... a short walk down to Sunset Boulevard to the Chateau Marmont as well - encroyable!!!
