We dropped into Pegasus books on a whim and were not disappointed. The store is open and inviting. Staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. New and Used books both are available in this store. There was a section for everyone and every genre. If you are looking for Leather-bound or older books you will need to do some digging but all part of the fun.

Fun bookstore to browse! Lots of great finds, both new and old (nostalgic).

The layout was confusing at first, with some books not in alphabetical order so it may take a bit of searching if you are looking for a specific book or author.

Nicely managed relatively large store, convenient location, the car parking spot might be a headache. I wish this store had at least one computer for customers to use. Also, the saddest part is this store was almost empty. Need to find the new way to attract more people to visit this nice store.

I love their newest used books section and they stock a really great selection of a variety of genres. Awesome store 👏

I heard this book store is closing soon, and I dont even know why? Preety much good selection of books and essentails. I hope it will be there for a longer period of time. There is not parking available, so i prefer walking.

They have an excellent selection of literary science fiction.

Always find the best random reads here! Both locations are great. Although the one on Shattuck could use a good dusting every now and then but maybe that’s also the part of the charm!

Excellent variety of books in such a small space. This is truly a hidden Berkeley gem. So serene and easily to become distracted from time in here.. associates are extremely helpful with your inquiries.

Superb service. I went in looking for a specific book, and I asked some employees where it would be. I couldn't find it so I left, but moments later one employee yelled after me as I crossed the street saying they had found that book in a different section! I was so appreciative!

When you reach the store you immediately have many used and new books to explore in various categories. Fun to explore the yearly calendars, journals, magazines, greeting cards and a lot more. Great place to visit.

I love bookstores and having a great local bookstore is as important as a great restaurant. Pegasus has friendly staff and such a great, inviting vibe where you just want to peruse the books for hours.

I miss living in Berkeley and popping in here once a month or so. Good selection and atmosphere.

Great Book Store!!! Some great finds!

They have a really great selection of new and used books and a great sale section. They also pay way more than anywhere else when you sell books. They’re choosy and it’s only for store credit but it’s worth going here first when selling your books.

Love this place. Super helpful staff. Really great selection of books and notebooks and planners. Their calendar sale is so much fun. Love their cats too. They are always helpful over the phone in finding used books or ordering new books when I'm looking for something.

This place is great...If you get a chance come and take a look at what they have..from vinyl records to books it's a very unique store..I am glad that it has survive the pandemic.
