I showed up today to purchase their carne guisada tacos n see what else they had. I've heard from a friend that they're carne guisada is some of the best in Austin. And i now agree. Great flavor and friendly service. Treat yourself n make the stop. You'll be glad you did.

This is the place for tacos in East Austin! It's currently 5:23am..I'm waiting till 6-7am to go and get a few tacos.my favorite is barbacoa with peppers! But a new favorite of mine is the carne guisada..it's something about the tender chunks of stewed beef..with a just thick enough, savory brown gravy,..wrapped into a freshly made and warm tortilla..so of course..you can expect to get messy..but then again that's one of the best part..they will include napkins.but if you're not headed to work...no napkins needed! Will update and post pictures soon!

I've been frequenting this store for atleast 10 or more years. My father is a Vietnam veteran who suffers from PTSD. My father and I were in line to pay and get our tacos and in doing so my father made a comment about the lack of salsa on orders in the past, and his comment wasn't even directed towards the clerk. He was saying it in a light-hearted, playful manner to a customer behind us. The clerk at the time (Indian gentleman with thick, brown hair) took it upon himself to scold and shun my dad, by saying "I've never seen you in here before." This gentleman acted on my father's comment and made it his choice to exude his irritability towards my father becuase of the comment he made about the salsa. This store's majority of customer's are Mexican-American (Chicano) and African-American. My dad was wearing his Vietnam veteran Marine corp basball cap at the time, and it was easy for the clerk to retaliate towards my father. This man can be argumentative and express a bad attitude from time to time. I have avoided going to this store for over a year or more due to the said clerk's attitude. But, until recently, over the past two months or so, I've been revisiting the store, and have had good experiences. I live up north and have even gone out of my way to order tacos from here. I don't know where this man gets off talking to my father the way he did. He had no regard for my father's age or service to this country. Professionally, you should never act on customer's innapropriate comments the way he did, you're supposed to kill them with kindness. Otherwise, this establishment serves the best carne guisada and barbacoa tacos in town! The kitchen staff has always been kind, and generous in their servings, and they serve a lot of food. This store gets 5 stars and the clerk gets 2. I'm sorry, but you didn't have to speak to my father the way you did this morning. Have a nice day.

Tacos are HUGE and the true Mexican flavors make this my go to spot for breakfast tacos! Carñe guisada is amazing as is the barbacoa! Best tacos on the Eastside. Love this spot!
